Nagoya, a culinary and historical journey in a leisurely city

#July Travel Support Fund Nagoya is a city in central Japan with convenient transportation and modernity, but at the same time, it is a place where tradition and history are well preserved. It is not as fancy as Tokyo or Osaka, but it is more calm and comfortable to travel. The first stop was Nagoya Castle. The magnificent castle decorated with golden Shachihoko was located in the middle of the city, and the exhibition hall inside allowed me to learn about the history and culture of the Edo period. The Japanese garden around the castle was quiet and beautiful, so it was a good place to take a break. After that, I visited Osu Kannon Temple and Osu Shopping Street. The temple was simple but had a shrine-like atmosphere, and the shopping street was full of traditional items and various street foods, so it was fun to look around. In particular, the miso-katsu with rich miso sauce and the tenmusu, which is a combination of fried food and rice balls, were really delicious. I also didn't forget to eat **Hitsumabushi (eel on rice**)**, which is a must-eat in Nagoya. The three ways of eating crispy eel as is, with green onions and wasabi, and finally pouring broth and eating it in ochazuke style were really special and satisfying. Since I am interested in culture and science, I also visited the Nagoya City Science Museum. The world's largest planetarium was really overwhelming, and there were many interactive exhibits that both children and adults could enjoy, which was interesting. In the evening, I went to the Sakae area and saw the Nagoya TV Tower and Oasis 21. When the sun went down and the lights came on, the glass dome and the tower came together to create a sophisticated night view, and there were many cafes and shops around, so I stayed for a long time. Nagoya is not crowded, so I felt relaxed and comfortable throughout my trip, and it was a city where tradition, modernity, gastronomy, and culture all come together in harmony.
