A GREAT OLD MOSQUE IN JAKARTA

#familytravel Indonesia is one of the countries we frequently visit for quick weekend getaways due to its proximity. One of the places my mother requested to visit was the Sunda Kelapa Grand Mosque in Jakarta, an old mosque known for its historical significance. Completed in 1971, the mosque is a testament to the city's maritime heritage and is named after Sunda Kelapa, Jakarta’s old port. We spent a wonderful time there as a family, and my mother was especially happy to have the opportunity to pray in such a meaningful place. The mosque features a minimalist and unique design, unlike typical mosques with domes, this one has none. Like other mosques, we feel that this mosque too, opens its doors and welcomes everyone, including locals and visitors, regardless of religion.
