The city is famous for its delicious durians, and you simply can't miss Soto Medan, a rich, coconut-based soup that has become one of Indonesia's most beloved regional dishes. It didn't feel scripted at all; you could really sense the authentic Thai hospitality. They were constantly offering drink refills and checking in on passengers throughout the entire flight. 🏆 Final Verdict The hardware might not be the newest on the market, but Royal Silk absolutely wins when it comes to outstanding food and service. [Indonesian Independence Day] Indonesia celebrates its independence on August 17, 1945, after approximately 300 years of Dutch colonial rule and Japanese military administration during World War II, when Sukarno and Hatta declared independence following Japan's defeat. 💞 Reasons to recommend: I visited the Independence Monument (Monas) on August 17, 2025, the 80th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Indonesia. On Indonesia's Independence Day (August 17th every year), grand celebratory events such as parades and cultural performances are held around the Independence Monument (Monas) in the heart of Jakarta, the capital city, and it was bustling with many people. At Merdeka Square, a special stage was set up with talk shows and live performances, and the atmosphere was incredibly lively, with the audience singing along. Also, many activities for children were set up, and children could be seen happily playing. The area around the National Monument was like a pedestrian zone, with a huge parade, cultural performances, traditional arts, and numerous food stalls, creating a lively atmosphere filled with locals and tourists. Fireworks and projection mapping were also scheduled for the evening. It was a fortunate and valuable experience to coincidentally visit Jakarta on this historic day, the 80th anniversary of Indonesia's independence.
