Claude Monet's House and Gardens - Giverny

#hellohalloween The Photographer’s Haunt (4 Stars) As a landscape photographer, I came specifically for the fog and shadows, and Giverny delivered in spades. The light scattering through the dense trees near the pond at 7 PM was an ethereal, almost alien green—the kind of light that makes the Water Garden look like a swamp on another planet. The texture of the stucco on the house, dampened by the mist, looked like a peeling, ancient skin. My best shot of the day was the gate, slightly ajar, with a single, massive pumpkin placed beside it, looking like a forgotten skull. The staff were excellent about allowing us to explore the less-trafficked corners where the atmosphere felt most wild and untamed. A visually rich, dramatically lit landscape for any artist seeking a touch of darkness.
