#hellohalloween The Sound of Silence and Rustle (4.5 Stars) Forget the visual spectacle for a minute; this garden is a masterclass in auditory horror on a foggy autumn evening. The absolute silence of the countryside is broken only by the sharp rustle of dry leaves being dragged across the gravel paths by an unseen breeze. I spent twenty minutes near the back of the garden, where the sounds were amplified, and it was genuinely unnerving. The way the light, weak and filtered, made the movement of the shrubbery look like slow, deliberate footsteps was a photographer’s dream and a horror lover’s delight. I didn't need costumed actors or plastic spiders; the natural atmosphere of the garden at the close of the season was haunting enough. This is truly the perfect place for a moody, contemplative Halloween experience.
