Thingvellir National Park 🇮🇸

#nationalparks I had an amazing time visiting Thingvellir National Park during my summer vacation in Iceland! 🇮🇸🏞️ Located about 45 minutes from Reykjavik, Thingvellir is a UNESCO World Heritage site and a stunning example of Iceland’s natural beauty and geological wonders. The entrance to the park is free, which makes exploring this incredible area even better. Walking through the park, I was struck by the dramatic rift valley where the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates meet. The landscape is dotted with stunning fissures, including the impressive Silfra Fissure, known for its crystal-clear waters that are perfect for snorkeling. Nearby, you can explore the historical Alþingi site, where Iceland’s first parliament was established in 930 AD, and the picturesque Öxarárfoss waterfall is definitely worth a visit.
