Beijing Trip Day 5 Morning: Revisiting the Forbidden City and Overlooking Beijing from Jingshan Park

Today is my last day in Beijing, and my feelings are mixed. I am excited to once again experience the beauty of this city, but also a bit reluctant to leave. This morning, I decided to revisit some of the places I had hurriedly passed by before, especially the Forbidden City. Last time, I had to rush back to the hotel to get my power bank after discovering my phone was out of battery at the Temple of Heaven, which made me miss the chance to fully explore the Forbidden City. Today, I finally have the opportunity to visit it again. As I entered the Forbidden City, I could feel its majestic yet serene atmosphere. This thousand-year-old imperial palace still stands here, witnessing countless historical changes. Every time I walk through these splendid halls, I feel as if I have traveled back to that dynasty, imagining the daily lives of emperors and officials here. Every carving, every door and window, every corridor in the Forbidden City is filled with a sense of history. After touring the Forbidden City, I decided to take a walk in the nearby Jingshan Park. This is one of the best spots to overlook the entire city of Beijing. Standing at the top of Jingshan, the whole cityscape of Beijing unfolds before your eyes. Whether it's the bustling streets or the vast horizon, it all inspires awe. Especially when you stand at the top of the hill and see the endless city stretching out, your mood becomes more tranquil. I took a deep breath, feeling as if everything was right in front of me, with the past, present, and future of this city all blending into this view. Looking back, although I had hurriedly skipped the Forbidden City before, today's visit gave me a deeper experience. Every corner, every piece of history, every glance back is a new realization. The impression this city has left on me is not just its magnificent sights, but also its profound cultural heritage. Today, I finally made up for the regret of the past and gained a more comprehensive understanding of Beijing's charm.
