A First-Timer's Guide to Beijing: Save This Now!

Hey ladies, I just got back from Beijing, and this trip really taught me a lot! I thought Beijing would be expensive, but after doing my research, I found that it's not. However, if you don't plan ahead, you'll definitely waste a lot of money! Especially if it's your first time taking your parents and kids, you must prepare in advance. Here are some tips I've put together, hoping to help those of you who are planning a trip to Beijing avoid some pitfalls! Seriously! Don't go to Beijing without a plan, or you won't get in anywhere. Everyone says you have to visit Beijing once, but no one tells you how to do it right. I hope these tips can help: 🌈Beijing Attraction Reservation Guide Tiananmen Square: To see the flag-raising ceremony, you need to book 9 days in advance. If you have young children, you can book the flag-lowering ceremony instead, which is equally amazing. Chairman Mao Memorial Hall: Book 7 days in advance. It's only open for half a day, from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm. You can buy flowers at the entrance for 3 RMB each. National Museum of China: Book 7 days in advance. Tickets are sold until 5:00 pm (closed on Mondays). You can see many historical artifacts from textbooks. Military Museum of the Chinese People's Revolution: Book 6 days in advance. Tickets are released at 8:00 am, 5:00 pm, and 8:00 pm (closed on Mondays). You can see planes and cannons, it's super impressive. Mutianyu Great Wall: I don't recommend Badaling because it's too crowded. Mutianyu is relatively less crowded. You can take the cable car up and the toboggan down. Summer Palace: Book 7 days in advance. Tickets are released at midnight. No need to buy combined tickets, the park is too big to cover everything anyway. ❗❗Important Notes ✨Bring lip balm and drink plenty of water! The weather in the north is very dry. ✨Don't order too much food. Northern dishes are much larger than those in the south. Ordering too much leads to waste. Order less and add more if needed. ✨It is recommended to buy combined tickets for the Temple of Heaven, otherwise, you won't be able to enter the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests. ✨You must enter the National Museum during your reserved time slot.
