Explore Royal Architecture from the Reign of King Rama III

🏡Wat Paorohit, originally named Wat Koh due to the surrounding canals and moats, was built around 1824 during the reign of King Rama III by Phra Maharajkru Purohitacharn (Bunrod Paorohit). In 1928, it was renamed Wat Paorohit. 🧱The Fine Arts Department registered this temple as an ancient monument in 1977. The important and interesting features within the temple include: 🏠The ordination hall, a three-room structure from the reign of King Rama III, with a brick and mortar gable, and door and window frames adorned with Western-style designs, following the royal preferences of the time. Inside, there are murals depicting idealized palaces, similar to the murals in the ordination hall of Wat Nai Rong. Outside, there is a glass wall. 🛕Three pagodas: Pagodas No. 1 and No. 3 are in the prang style, while Pagoda No. 2 has a square base and is a twelve-cornered pagoda.
