Ile-Alatau National Park - Made Kazakhstan worthwhile

#falladventures #familytravel I didn’t come to Kazakhstan for Almaty city itself - I knew that what I wanted to see was Kazakhstan’s natural beauty. Even so, I was taken aback by how little I enjoyed Almaty. As a result, this made my enjoyment of Ile-Alatau national park all the better given that it made the whole trip worthwhile. I spent a lovely day hiking jn the Tian Shan mountains (taking the trail to Butaktova waterfall from Medeu), amidst stunning mountain views and natural beauty, and I’d recommend doing so to anyone in Almaty. Getting to Medeu doesn’t take long from the centre, and both there and back you can get an inexpensive bus.
