The Central Mosque of Almaty - Relaxed mosque!

#falladventures #travel The Central Almaty Mosque is located some 10 min walk north from the Green Bazaar. Its golden dome along with golden topped minarets are visible from afar. It was built in the 90's right after gaining independence, all in white marble. Currently, it's the biggest Mosque in Kazakhstan with space for around 7.000 people. Mosque is free to enter, even to non Muslims with respecting their rules. Very nice interior.The Central Mosque in Almaty is quite impressive from the outside, but rather uninteresting and plain inside. It has a large golden dome and tall minarets. I would tend to rate this place a "3" except that I found it quite relaxed and welcoming for non-Muslims, contrary to many mosques I've been to (some of which do not even allow non-Moslims to enter); on that basis, I upped the rating to "4".
