🇵🇹 Sanctuary of the Christ of King ✝️

The Sanctuary of Christ the King is a Catholic monument and shrine located in Almada, the southern bank of Tagus River in Lisbon. The Catholic statue was inspired by the Christ the Redeemer statue in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The monument was built after World War II and inaugurated in 1959. This is probably the best place in Lisbon which offers stunning views of the 25 April Bridge which connects the city of Lisbon and Almada. The entrance ticket costs 8€ and allows you to take the lift to the top floor. From there you still have to climb a few flights of stairs to reach the observation deck where the statue of Jesus Christ is built.
