Ponto Final is really a different experience altogether! The place is definitely not easily accessible but you can make it on foot! It is right down by the sea near Lisbon. Take a Bolt to get you there and there is a lift that will get you down to the restaurant. We are here because it was featured in Somebody Feed Phil, and we were so excited because this place do not have ANY BARRIER! SO if you accidentally slipped! You will fall right into the sea! The seafood is fresh and succulent, try the Baccaulau if you have not, it is cured cod fish with potatoes and chick peas. Different places have different version of it. #celebratewithtrip The 1950s Sanctuary of Christ the King is a Catholic monument and shrine dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus Christ overlooking the city of Lisbon, situated in Almada. The statue was inspired by the Christ of Redeemer statue of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The monument was erected on an isolated clifftop 133 meters above sea level. It consists of a trapezoidal pedestal of 82 meters height, formed by four arches and a platform, supporting the 28 meters image of Christ. The journey by public transport is not difficult, a scenic ferry ride from Cais do Sodre to Cacilhas ferry terminal, and then take the bus 3001 to the monument, the bus station is just beside the ferry terminal. For visitors, the main draw is the magnificent panoramic view over Lisbon and the Ponte 25 de Abril. €6 is the entrance fee to the viewing platform on the top by lift.

I once saw this saying: "If God can save Portugal from war, build a statue on the other side of Lisbon that shows the Sacred Heart of Jesus." I don't know if this statue of the Sacred Heart is copied from Lisbon. Its still Rios plagiarism of the sovereign state. In short, its still worth a visit. The Great Jesus is actually located in the Almaida area on the other side of the Belm area, and its tall figure has long been one of the landmarks of the city of Lisbon. The statue of Jesus is 110 meters high. The statue is a viewing platform that can be reached by elevator (5). There is a small prayer room on the ground floor of the base, and a direct elevator to the top view platform. Here you can see the Tejo River and the opposite Lisbon cityscape, as well as the famous April 25th Bridge. The bridge is very similar in shape to the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, USA, and is said to have been built by the same company. When the bridge was built, it was the fifth largest suspension bridge in the world at that time.

We stumbled upon a genuine 19th-century wooden warship in Lisbon by chance! It turned out to be a museum, and the ticket price was only 5 euros. Of course, we have to go! The frigate Dom Fernando II e Glória is a Portuguese 50-gun sailing frigate, moored in dry dock in Cacilhas (right next to the ferry pier). This is the last Portuguese sailing warship built, launched in 1843 and commissioned in 1845. During its active service, it traveled more than 100,000 nautical miles—that's five circumnavigations of the globe! The frigate D. Fernando is listed in the International Register of Historic Ships as the fourth-oldest naval frigate in the world and the eighth-oldest sailing ship. Interestingly, it still has a captain: a plaque on the captain's deckhouse lists all the captains and their years of service—and there's a working captain! You can walk around the ship and touch everything! What you can't is fenced off. The ship, if I'm not mistaken, has four decks—and is open to tourists everywhere! The ship is little known: there were only four of us on board, so we explored everything completely freely. The frigate was restored not long ago, in 1998, and here and there are figures of supposedly Portuguese sailors—it conveys a very powerful feeling! In some places, it seems as if the ship has a life of its own, and you're just peeking in. You can walk around and see everything—the wardroom, the captain's cabin, the galley (or whatever the place where the sailors ate is called?), the doctor's quarters, and even the storage areas below. We spent about two hours there—and probably would have stayed longer, but the museum was closing. I love maritime museums, and my husband especially! We both agree, this is one of the best museum ships we've ever seen!

A truly impressive spot! Cristo Rei is not just a massive statue with outstretched arms – even the bus ride over the bridge to get there was an experience on its own. From the bus stop, we walked to the statue. It’s a bit of a walk, but definitely doable. We only visited the outer area, which is actually free. If you want to go all the way to the top, there’s an entrance fee – but for us, seeing it from below and snapping a selfie with Cristo was more than enough. You also get a fantastic view of the bridge and Lisbon from there. Just a heads-up: it’s quite windy up there, so it can be a bit chilly – though in summer it might even be refreshing. All in all: Definitely worth a visit!

The Christ the Redeemer Statue in Lisbon is located about 30 minutes' drive from the center of Lisbon. The line was already quite long, with regulars, group tourists, and locals on their way to work. I ordered two freshly baked Pastéis de Nata and a strong espresso. The crust was crispy, and the custard inside was hot and creamy. Vanilla and cinnamon spread in my mouth, making time seem to pause for a moment. Sitting by the window, I gazed at the tiled walls and let my mind rest for a while. 🗓 10:30 AM – Jerónimos Monastery (Mosteiro dos Jerónimos) Across the road stood the majestic Jerónimos Monastery. The white limestone building sparkled in the morning sunlight, and its Manueline style, blending Gothic and Renaissance elements, left me speechless.
