Regular visitor to Penang, about 5 times per year.
First time staying in this hotel and I must say it is the best in terms of location, especially for foodie like me. Yummy is everywhere once I step out of this hotel.
Only downside, there is no bedside power point to pluck in to charge my phone. So every time a notification tone comes in, I gotta get out of bed to go check on it.
Other than that, all is excellent.
Attach a couple of photos on the most popular food just along the street outside the hotel.
JEN Penang Georgetown: Central, Seamless, and So Worth It 🌇✨
Tucked right beside 1st Avenue Mall, JEN Penang nails the location game-smack in the heart of Georgetown with everything at your doorstep.
We booked the family room, which came with a comfy sofa bed, a bidet-equipped bathroom, and a bathtub for those post-walk wind-downs. The buffet breakfast? Generous and delicious. But what truly stood out was the service-warm, proactive, and personal.
They even WhatsApped us pre-check-in to see if we needed anything extra. And the cherry on top? A free late checkout at 2pm, no questions asked.
✅ Prime location
✅ Family-friendly rooms
✅ Thoughtful service touches
✅ Buffet breakfast bliss
✅ Seamless digital check-in
Verdict: A must-stay. Already planning our next visit.
We decided to stay at this very unique hotel based on all the great reviews. And we were not disappointed. This hotel is central to so many gorgeous attractions. And even though we had originally wanted to rent one of the many city bicycles available from stations in and around Georgetown, we decided to walk instead, because the heavy traffic and construction worried us. There's just so much to see and do that we became easily overwhelmed. Again, The Loop on Leith is an excellent location that walking around and seeing the sights ends up working out very well, especially when you're avid photographers like we are.
I loved the modern decor of our room with its hip and trendy vibes. A rather small room but still very functional. The bathroom is excellent with hot water and very good shower pressure. And our included breakfast buffet was delicious, although I wish there had been a little more variety. And the cooks and staff were very professional and very attentive, always making sure the buffet counter was replenished. Much of the time the breakfast buffet was quite busy. After all, this is a very busy hotel and for good reason. But still, we would easily return here to stay for a few nights.
We also enjoyed the Netflix in our room and the beds were very comfortable. Excellent mini fridge and even a little sofa. And we even had a fantastic view of the city. But sometimes it can get noisy, mostly from activity from other guests. Thankfully, I always travel with ear plugs.
An incredible little hotel, surrounded by so many top-notch gourmet restaurants too. The hotel has gorgeous decor and awesome personality. This is the place to stay in the heart of Georgetown.
Fast check in process by Mr Saran. Easy parking access (no need to take any parking ticket. Receptionist will register your car plate number and you can enter and out from parking lot how many time you want). Requested birthday decorations and im so happy when i saw the decoration. It was so amazing! And we get small cake too! Thanks St Giles Wembley Penang for this hospitality!
Booked Premier King room. I was impressed by the cleanliness and comfort room. The room was spacious. The bed was comfortable just the pillow is a bit hard for me. Nice view from the room. Quiet room.
Breakfast 9/10. Many varieties of food. Delicious! Especially the taufufa. I repeat 3 times 😊.
Gym is pretty nice and had adequate equipment. Pool view is Komtar 💜 Great location. Walking distance to 1st Avenue Mall, and most places.
Hope this hotel will maintain the services, and cleanliness for long time. Will certainly return to St Giles Wembley Hotel on my next visit to Penang.
All in all, not dat bad. The location of dis hotel is nice, those spots r very nearby. However, the WiFi is too terrible, even I using their WiFi or my own data I still can’t got it well. Besides , the sea view was alright even though I’m still disappointed thought dat the sea view would be very nearby the hotel but actually there’s still a distance. Additionally, the breakfast was okay nothing special , the menu almost same every day
Very nice place to stay, very spacious and clean.
Can wash clothes(washing machine available)
Only a bit far from food centre(need to ride taxi/grab car) other wise a nice place to stay.
Shangri-La Golden Sands truly embodies relaxation, with a welcoming atmosphere, friendly staff, and a laid-back charm. The food is excellent, the beach is beautiful, and guests also enjoy the convenience of a complimentary shuttle service to downtown Georgetown via Jen Hotel.Kudos to them!
Hospitality is superb, but the only downside is the kids' pool. It was so slippery at the 3 hoops sections. Slipped and fell hard on it. Hurt my wrist as I used my wrist to break the fall. It happened too fast.. hopefully, the maintenance could look into it and really scrubbed it as it is indeed very dangerous for the kids.
The hotel service was excellent, and all the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. We stayed in a suite at this Marriott-branded apartment hotel. While the space was quite ample, the cleanliness was unfortunately very average. I could distinctly smell an old, musty odor, along with hints of curry and sweat, on the duvet and pillows. Conveniently, there's a large Myrid supermarket less than a ten-minute walk away. Queensbay Mall, Penang's largest shopping center, is also just a 10-minute taxi ride away, featuring an AEON supermarket, a food court, and a wide array of clothing and cosmetic stores.
Love the design of the hotel. The room is huge by Penang standard and comes with lots of carpark. We had a really comfortable stay at Sho. The cons is the location which is located slightly away from the Center. The water pressure in the shower is sometimes too low. These are minor problems. Definitely will visit again

GGuest UserThis is good hotel in Penang, but lift little problem.Good breakfast anyway everything was good
JJohnsonYeohGreat service from the reception, especially Mr. Sri
Restaurants, Chulia streets where most pubs are located are all within walking distance.
A bit tricky to find the hotel carpark as the entrance is under a shop house pillar with BIG word Honda at the side wall
Recommend to walk to Red garden food court, nice food and vibes with performance

CChunnuanhuakaikaixindaolaoI really liked the hotel's distinctive style and its rich sense of history. This was the priciest hotel on my trip to Malaysia, and also the one I was most looking forward to. Overall, I felt it offered good value for money, despite a few minor drawbacks.
Firstly, the front desk staff were very friendly and welcoming during check-in, but unfortunately, they didn't speak Chinese, which made communication a bit challenging. Thankfully, a Chinese-speaking service was available via phone later on.
Secondly, the room was very spacious, particularly the bathroom, which was incredibly roomy. The double vanity sinks were convenient, but the twin beds were surprisingly small and felt completely out of proportion with the otherwise large room.
Thirdly, the hotel's ambiance was excellent and very quiet. The sea view from our room was beautiful, and the infinity pool was unforgettable. However, staying in the Victory Annexe meant we couldn't access the Heritage Wing's pool, which prevented us from fully enjoying all of the hotel's facilities and scenic views.
Fourthly, the hotel's location was superb. It's right by the sea and also very close to major central attractions, making it convenient for sightseeing and exploring local culinary delights.
Fifthly, the hotel's breakfast was fantastic, offering a wide variety of dishes with high-quality ingredients. The ice cream was particularly delicious!
A special thank you to the hotel for the thoughtful welcome gift. If I visit Penang again, I would definitely consider staying here.
WWenwuThe hotel is located in Teluk Bahang, furthest away from Batu Ferringhi Beach, offering excellent privacy and a peaceful environment. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, and the two swimming pools were great for relaxing. Although the beach area is small, it was still pleasant, and the breakfast variety was acceptable. However, the hospitality could be improved. I arrived at 1:30 PM and was informed that the room was not yet ready, and the receptionist would call once it was. Unfortunately, when I returned after 2:30 PM, the receptionist was missing, and I later found out that the room had already been ready for some time. Additionally, no welcome drink was offered upon arrival or during check-in. Overall, while the stay was comfortable and the facilities were good, the service experience was disappointing.

GGuest UserThe hotel location is good; close to the famous temple Kek Lok Si and Penang Hill as well as many coffee shop, food market and small restaurants.. but the hotel looks worn out and only the very basic are provided. The hotel does not provide breakfast.
Lobby area has an unpleasant smell (coming from the drainage just outside the hotel main entrance. Hope they could do something about it as it’s not appealing at all for the hotel.
We stayed for 2 nights but no housekeeping was done. No hand towels, only 2 bath towels that looks very old though still clean.
Staff at the reception counter were quite helpful.
On the whole, for the price it’s still worthwhile.
GGuest UserI had an absolutely wonderful stay at PARKROYAL Penang! From the moment we arrived, everything was smooth and welcoming. The service was excellent, and the entire team—from the front desk to housekeeping was professional, warm, and attentive.
I surprised my husband with a birthday treat during our stay, and the hotel team made it extra special by sending the birthday surprise after we returned from the pool, which was such a thoughtful touch. My husband also planned to surprise me for our anniversary, and although the swan decoration on the bed was set up after we arrived, I truly appreciated the effort it was romantic and made the moment unforgettable.
The dinner and breakfast were absolutely delicious great variety, fresh ingredients, and beautifully presented. The dining experience at Cinnamon Restaurant was made even better by the warm hospitality from Nadia, Hidayah, and the entire team. Special thanks to Zeyati, our room service staff, for her kindness and attention to detail, and to the bellman who helped us with our bags so efficiently.
A big shoutout to the two amazing crew members at the Kids Club (sorry forget their name but i have picture of them) they were so attentive and caring with the children. My kids absolutely loved them, and their warmth made a big difference in our stay. We truly appreciate their effort and energy!
The room was clean and spacious, the facilities were top-notch, and the beach access was perfect for a relaxing getaway. The hospitality shown by the crew and team was beyond expectations. Everything was excellent, and I truly appreciate the care and attention from everyone at PARKROYAL Penang. We’ll definitely come back again!
Please give best recognition to all your team! they are superb amazing.
WWenwuOzo Hotel Georgetown is conveniently located in the heart of Georgetown, making it easy to access nearby attractions. The hotel is clean, comfortable, and offers good value for money.
However, there are a few downsides — the reception on the ground floor is often unattended, making parking and retrieving your car inconvenient. The soundproofing is poor, as you can clearly hear other guests showering. Lastly, the Wi-Fi connection is unstable and frequently disconnects.
