The location is superb, just a five-minute walk from JR Nara Station, and it was surprisingly quiet at night. The hotel offers laundry facilities with washers and dryers. We also discovered a fantastic, highly-rated ramen shop nearby. The ramen was spicy and uniquely featured tripe and chopped chives, ingredients rarely seen in ramen in Japan. It's even a spot frequented by celebrities! Plus, when returning in the evening, there's a large Aeon supermarket conveniently located right at the station. Highly recommended!
Except for the location being a little far away, there is nothing wrong with it. There are massage chairs and massage sticks, a massage bathtub, and a TV where you can watch movies and adult films. For such a large space, the price is very cost-effective.
Friendly staff. Helpful amenities that made the stay comfortable. Approx 15 minutes walk to Nara Station and Nara Park. Provided one keycard for the room. Room was a lot more spacious than most other hotels of the price. They have a dining/seating area in the lobby, as well as a dry foot spa and a manga corner. Would stay here again.
The B&B is very clean, with a kitchen and living room. There are some books in the living room, as well as travel notes written by other tourists. You can read books and drink coffee in the hotel at night. The owner is very loving and the breakfast is not bad. It is close to the road, so the sound insulation is a problem.
We really appreciated the stay at the old traditionnal timber house, everything is kept in its style. The lifestyle also is part of the house : everyone is playing the game, being very silent and respectful, sharing a very nice traditionnal kitchen. The house may miss one more shower but it still works. I totally recommand the experience !!
Hotel is at Kintetsu Nara station. Easily accessible when taking train. Nice quaint area to walk. Room has humidifier, kettle and cups, hairdryer, mini fridge and a tv. Breakfast comes with delicious thick toast set and coffee. Laundromat is at the cosy lobby area. I stayed for 2 nights. Many good eateries around the area and shopping malls. Tourist attractions are walking distance only. Highly recommend this hotel 👍🏻
Apart from the room being a bit on the small side, everything else was excellent. This is a hot spring hotel where guests wear provided robes/yukata and remove their shoes. It's very baby-friendly: they offered a set of baby clothes and toiletries, and high chairs were available in the dining area. Dinner consisted of soy sauce noodles and drinks. Breakfast was generous, featuring a variety of Nara specialties served in many small dishes. The hot springs are located on the first floor, with separate facilities for men and women. Indoors, there are warm and cold pools, and outdoors, there's an open-air bath, along with a sauna. Showers are available after your soak. It's advised that infants and young children avoid the very hot or very cold springs; a simple shower is sufficient for them. Outside the onsen, you can enjoy popsicles and read manga, which kids will particularly enjoy.
Great location, close to JR and bus stations. Lots of restaurants and shops nearby and walkable distance to Nara park. Great, clean, and affordable place. The breakfast was quite nice.
We travel as family of 1 adult and 3 teens. Staying in a Japanese room for 3+1 for 5 nights.
Room: With all futons out, not much room to move around. So we kept our 5 carry on luggage in the hallway. Not a big issue.
Kitchen: good for simple cooking and heat up.
Location: 15 minutes walk from JR station, 9 minutes walk from Kintetsu station, no need for a taxi. Also can walk to museum Todaiji and Kasuga Tsushima. Deers downstairs in the morning. Our room has great view of the pond and pagoda.
Facilities: washing basin is on the balcony instead of with toilet and shower due to its original function as local government hostel. Public bath although not spring water, still good enough to enjoy traditional Japanese. Convenience store in basement open till 7:30pm. Small clothes drying rack is convenient for overnight underwear or socks.
Reception: great service with always someone speaks languages other than Japanese. Also it has free daily activities such as making origami deers. Great place to have a relaxed tour in Nara.
The downside of the place is the wifi signal a bit weak inside the room, while perfect near the hallway and inside the building. Also the coin laundry and dryers really need a good clean or replace the filter more regularly.
All in all, a great experience staying in the Nara Visitor Inn! Thanks!
The room was a good size and offered excellent value for money. An ice machine was also available. I particularly liked the separated bathroom setup, with the sink located outside the main wet area, making it very convenient for simultaneous use. An interesting detail was the small curtain separating the entryway from the main room. Dining and shopping options are conveniently located nearby, and local prices are fair. The entire stay was self-service, requiring no human assistance, which likely explains the affordable pricing.

GGuest UserFirst of all, the service staff is warm and thoughtful, and the attitude is amiable! Tell the precautions, the hotel is clean and hygienic, and the quilt is covered by yourself. The bathroom in the bath is particularly clean. Every guest is very conscious. Try to control yourself and not disturb others. It is really great!
LLung TsangIt was a steal luxury at this hotel during our stay! Looks lush with elegance, the room was bigger than ordinary Japan hotel room and the receptionists spoke perfect English which is not usual in Japan. We got a great offer to shop the nara deer toy at a local shop thanks to the hotel stay. The hotel restaurant offers nice breakfast choice at a reasonable price and we saw it was packed during dinner time too. It is close to both Kintetsu Nara Station and Nara Park. And only 10min walk to Jr Nara Station. Don't forget to enjoy the complementary options of various tea and plum drinks next to the reception
GGuest UserExceeded expections on all grounds! I am so happy with the hotel I wanted to spread the word. This hotel has great old world charm and more. I was a little worried about the condition of the hotel (more than 100 years old!) but everything was fine. I stayed at the Main Wing / basic room with park view. The bathroom was basic (business hotel like) but very clean, but the room / bedding and the view at our window was wonderful. Given the low price point, we were very happy with the room. Definitely recommend the Main Wing, and if you can, a room with higher price point.
All staff, from shuttle bus / concierge / front desk / bar, are excellent. We really enjoyed the check in process - you can sit at the lounge admiring Einstein's piano while the front staff comes calling your name. Also try the tea lounge both during the day and night (turns to a bar). I would also like to extend special thanks to Korean speaking front manager Lee Su Jin who helped us in so many ways. She really made our stay comfortable.
One thing to note about Nara city itself is that most venues close at 4pm and have unpredictable operating hours. You can't just walk around hoping to sit down at a cafe or restaurant. Highly recommend making reservations in advance of your trip and I'm sure Nara hotel concierge can help with this.
I really enjoyed Nara Hotel and look really forward to returning.
쉬쉬고싶어요1. There is nothing to complain about. The location, food, room condition, amenities, interior, etc. were all perfect.
2. The staff were especially friendly.
3. The pond view room faces west, so if you don't open the blinds, it can get hot in the summer because of the sunlight.
4. Due to hotel circumstances, luggage storage was only available until 12 o'clock on the day of check-out, but I wish they had posted this in advance on the website.
XXiaDongThe hotel locate just beside Nara station, bus terminal is also steps away, very convenient. The room size is very comfortable. Staffs are all friendly and handle check in fast. Check out is via self service machine which took only 2 mins.
Every floor has facility room with auto laundry machine, oven and etc, which is very helpful for multiple days stay. Breakfast has various choices while tastes average to me. Overall a very satisfied stay and thanks a lot to all hotel staffs.
Wwee teeBooked this hotel through Trip which was a godsend. The hotel that I booked through ******* was screwed up big time by ******* because the hotel didn't receive the reservation apparently. ******* was not helpful with the relocation (even thought there were availability at other hotels), claiming the hotel class are different from the one I booked. Anyways this hotel is convenient and clean, only thing that I disliked was the site mentioned double bed BUT only can accommodate 1 person!? Ended we have to pay additional ¥3k for the 3rd person (my youngest daughter) for 2 rooms. 1 room for myself and the other for both daughters because the manager was adamant about the 1 room per person, however after paying the additional ¥3k he was ok with 2 persons in a room. Didn't make sense unless I was explained it is some government regulations to allow only 1 double bed room for 1 person

MMichael IanThis place was so cute and excellent. Staff didn't speak much English, but we were able to communicate easily enough. Room was Japanese Ryokan style. Tatami mats, low table. It had everything needed, shower and toilet in the room too. There is also an onsen that you can reserve for your private use. I asked for a time later at night and they still had one spot available. If you can't get a time then it is ”public use” after 22:00, which seems to mean that you might need to share if others want to join. Location was very good, right in the middle of the historic part of town and a short walk (<5 min) to Nara park to see the deer. Hotel was very nice and clean. I was here in late December and the air conditioning heater in the room was very good too.
GGuest UserI may be the only off-season to Yoshinoyama. The Yoshinoyama sunrise without cherry blossoms is also very beautiful. But there is no bus under the mountain. In the end, only the phone boss can let them pick it up. I feel that the hotel is family-run, and the service is still Very good, just the off-season, although there is no dinner, but the package is out, but the price is also a lot cheaper, or do not regret this trip, look forward to the opportunity to come back in the cherry blossom season, the hot springs are also very good.
GGuest UserThis hotel is exactly something what we expected to experience with a Japanese style room and hot spring. We chose Japanese style room which was spacious enough for 3 guests. Hotel fee already included Japanese dinner served inside room and breakfast (Japanese or American) served in their restaurant. Hot spring is available from 4pm-11pm, however, no morning session is available which a bit disappointed us. Hot spring area is not big, it is more enjoyable when there are only 2-3 guest in the pool.
Hotel location is good, only about 6 mins walk from Kintetsu Nara station. The only bad thing was NO elevator or escalator from the station up to ground floor exit. All other main tourist attractions are within walkable distance.
