Lindartún Guesthouse

The property is located in the isolated Icelandic countryside. It can be easily reached from the Ring Road by following the signs. Upon arrival you must notify your arrival via telephone and the managers arrive within minutes to give you the key. The room is large, as is the bathroom but it did not have a kitchen (I did not investigate whether it was possible to use the one in the building). DVD player and large DVD collection available. Very clean facility. I decided to try the breakfast (to be counted separately...): very fresh products that I liked. Very comfortable beds. Unreal silence. Nice and sociable Icelandic horses in the enclosure adjacent to the structure
Höfn Hostel

We spent just one night but we loved the accommodation. As a family of 3 we booked a private room with a private bathroom and loved the space. The hostel itself is very clean and in a residential neighbourhood. Everyone who was staying was very nice and the communal kitchen was easily accessible to everyone. We walked to the town and that was very doable. The town is quiet but there are a number of things to see in the area. We really enjoyed our stay. We would definitely recommend it.

Lovely place in the middle of a rugged land, so isolated yet offers everything first class. An excellent place to chase auroras. Staff were very professional. The room offered a generous space, breakfast was excellent.
Hótel Eldhestar

This was a lovely hotel which was very easy to find - around a 50 minute drive from the airport. The location is perfect if you are planning a trip around the Golden Circle. There is ample free parking outside. The hotel staff were very friendly and the room was very clean. The heating was really good and the hot tub outside is a lovely addition. Bed was comfortable, we slept amazingly both nights! Breakfast was good, plenty on offer. We did not eat dinner in the hotel, instead we visited the local restaurants in Hveragerdi and Selfoss which are both a very short drive away. The only complaint I would have is that the shower was quite bad - very low pressure, hard to get the right temperature and quite strong smelling. That being said, it did not spoil our visit in the slightest.

Beautiful cozy cottages, modern amenities, close driving distance to waterfalls. Isolated, low light pollution great for stargazing and northern lights. The loft cottages have upper loft floor with sky window, very cool. For a couple with or without small child is enough space. Communication with access instructions was easy. People have complained about inflexible cancellation policy, but these are family-run cottages, not a big hotel, so they depend on the income and last minute cancellations have impact on the local people.
Old Airline Guesthouse
4.5/552 Reviews
The Old Airline Guesthouse is an extremely nice guesthouse at a great value. It is situated strategically between two of Iceland most majestic sites, the Vatnajökull Glacier/Iceberg Lagoon and Hvalnes Nature Reserve. The Old Airline Guesthouse owner and host Sigga was absolutely wonderful. My wife and I had a small but awesome room with a view overlooking the Hofn bay area. Patrons can also enjoy a similar view in the upstairs common area. Local shops and restaurants are within walking distance. A continental breakfast is included in your stay. Being a guesthouse you do share a bathroom, other than that the Old Airline Guesthouse is truly a gem worth staying.
The Garage

Our car entered the mouse. The hostess gave us a wooden mouse clip, and we were all moved. The room does not include breakfast, but the male host waited until 8 o'clock until we arrived. We also prepared homemade cookies for us to eat. The room we lived in was very large and exquisite. We could see all the details and domestic Not the same. Many non-standard wonderful designs at first glance are the rooms made by the landlord himself. He also has a garage with all kinds of tools and his own agricultural tractor parked in it. Great!
Hotel Grimsborgir by Keahotels

Disadvantages: The hotel room and floor are very dusty and not clean. The room was not soundproofed, and other tenants spoke in the corridor, and they heard it clearly. Although the hotel advertises as a five-star hotel, breakfast is actually not as good as the Guest house and three-star hotel we stayed in on this trip in bread, yogurt and so on. Pros: Breakfast included, bathtub is large. The size of the room is OK in American country style. When I checked out, oolong was also seen as other tenants signing more than 40,000 local currency dinners in my room number. Fortunately, another service staff immediately said that it was okay.
Gerdi Guesthouse

Lovely little guesthouse ideally located on the south coast. We stayed as part of our two day SC tour and were pleasantly surprised. It was dark when we arrived but the view was spectacular in the morning of the mountains and sunrise over the coast. The room was very clean, beds were comfortable and was lovely and warm for a stormy February evening! The evening food was ok, limited choices but did cater for vegan diet. Breakfast was standard but good - bread, fruit/veg, meat, cheese, oatmeal. Enough to set you up for the day! Overall a great place to stop for one or two nights on the South Coast!

Absolutely amazing our stay at this hotel. After 2 rough nights in others hotels this was a cherry on the top. It was my husband and I anniversary so we decided to booked this hotel to chill and enjoy our time. Staff were nice at the lobby, hotel comes with free parking, lobby was very nice and stylish, room were spacious and super modern, free buffet style breakfast A+++ and for 30 dollars extra you could use the sauna, steam and massage facility. Hotel its in downtown selfoss so everything was nearby and it's such a cute little town. I definitely recommend this hotel worth the extra money.
