"First, the hotel picked me up at the ferry dock by their own boat, which really helped me relax after a tiring journey. When I arrived, everything felt very new furniture and very big room—especially the bathroom—and the whole place was very clean. One thing I really appreciated was how quiet it was, so I could sleep very well. The owner is also very kind and helped arrange the trips I wanted to go on. I originally booked for just 2–3 nights, but ended up staying for a full 7 days."

"The hotel is very closed to the Nile Cruise dock area, it is located just across the road from the river. Very busy street, plenty of shops around and there is a shopping center in the building as well. Our room is very clean and big. We had 3 single beds and it is still very spacious. A little noisy outside especially at night because our room is street facing but very manageable. The reception staff were very helpful. The place is very safe. We only had a short stay after disembarking from our Nile Cruise, visiting Abu Simbel on the same day and flying out early from Aswan Airport back to Cairo the following day."

"Pros The hotel facilities were absolutely beautiful with an amazing view. Traditional Nubian style house. Every corner makes you want to capture the space. We had a rocky start but the hotel staff tried to redeem themselves. We lost an apple watch which the hotel helped us get back ASAP before we reached Luxor. We are grateful for this. Cons Awful communication and hospitality. We were the only guests in the entire resort because of low season but still received shitty service. The hotel is in a secluded place making it difficult to reach. It’s on top of a mountain on a dusty rocky road. The hotel offers a tuktuk. We did our research prior and contacted the hotel to arrange getting to the hotel from the village and check in since we knew we’d land in the AMs. We were ignored. We arrived at the village meeting point at 1:45 but only ended up getting to our rooms around 3:50am because reaching the hotel via call and WhatsApp was so difficult. The staff had no sense of urgency. We were frustrated and anxious in this wellness resort. Our taxi driver refused to take us up the mountain and the tuktuk refused to take us because of our many bags (which is understandable). I’m very disappointed in the service and I know the staff has lots of potential to improve on their service delivery. The hotel needs to be more cognisant of their customer service and guests hospitality. Staying here was stressful. Recommended if you want aesthetic vibes,a beautiful picturesque hotel with good breakfast. Don’t recommend if you prioritise great guest services, comfortability and peace."

"Overall, I'd give it a 9.5 out of 10. The biggest advantage: you won't find Aswan dirty, chaotic, or noisy while staying here. The guesthouse is located on a small island near Philae Temple, extremely quiet and beautiful. We originally planned to visit Aswan city or the Old Falls, but immediately changed our minds after checking in. We simply enjoyed tea and meals at the guesthouse, gazing at Lake Nasser and the distant Philae Temple – so pleasant! In the evening, we took the boat the owner booked to the temple, which went smoothly, eliminating the hassle of haggling over shared boat fares. The rooms were clean, the facilities were great, and the food was excellent. Areas for improvement: Considering the price, the cleanliness could be improved. I noticed the area under the toilet seat wasn't cleaned very thoroughly. Otherwise, everything was great."

"The Nubian Village has many narrow alleys, so if you're traveling by business car, you'll need to pay attention to the route. The transportation is a bit far from the pier. Tuktuks are popular for short-distance travel within the village. Breakfast service is quite leisurely, so if you're in a hurry, it's best to inform them in advance. They thoughtfully provide bags for takeout breakfast, but dining in offers a much tastier and more abundant meal! Occasionally, there might be an inconvenient water outage, but it usually returns to normal after a while. If you report it to the front desk, they'll provide bottled water as a temporary solution. Even with the same room type, the level of newness can vary between different floors. This is because, according to their customs, they only build upwards when they have more money, so the houses aren't built all at once. The higher the floor, the newer and better the facilities. The restaurant upstairs is delicious and reasonably priced. I recommend eating there whether you're a guest or not! The guesthouse is very cozy, and no one will ask you for tips. Instead, they genuinely welcome you and offer any assistance you need. The owner, in particular, is incredibly kind. This wasn't the most well-equipped accommodation I stayed at during my trip to Egypt, but it was definitely the warmest, most memorable, most grateful, and most like coming home. If I ever visit Egypt again, I'll be back here. :)"

"I had an excellent stay at Malindy Ka Nubian House in Aswan. The hospitality of Mr Mohamed was truly outstanding, and the entire team was very friendly, helpful, and always prompt in responding to any questions or requests. Mr. Mohamed guided us very well during our stay and helped with everything we needed in Aswan, including local travel tips and arrangements. The Abu Simbel tour arrangements were very good and budget-friendly, which made the experience smooth and comfortable. The location itself is peaceful and quiet, giving a beautiful experience of Nubian culture and lifestyle. The artistic paintings and decorations both inside and outside the property were beautiful and added a unique cultural touch to the stay. The room was very neat, clean, and comfortable. Even a late-night dinner was quickly arranged for us, which we truly appreciated. If guests have any specific food preferences, it is better to inform them earlier so they can check the availability and prepare accordingly. Benben is a beautiful place and the service is top notch. Why the 3 stars? Our room jacuzzi was way too hot to enter. On the first day they send someone over who added cold water so we could enjoy it. Then on the second day as we are coming back from our day trip and want to relax, we find out our jacuzzi is again way too hot. It’s not fun to wait for them to fix this issue when we want to go in right now and not in an hour or so. Also as a 5 stars hotel, the hot water kept running out in our shower after 15 minutes which is quite crazy. It shouldn’t be like this. Or else we loved everything. The food is really good, and as I said the staff/service is amazing.

It's on par with a 3-star budget hotel in China. The duvet was already pilling – replacing a duvet cover wouldn't be a huge expense, would it? A good night's sleep is a really important part of any trip. The breakfast buffet had limited variety, only the fried eggs were decent.

We booked two garden view rooms for our family trip. Hilariously, we checked in at 2:30 PM that day, then rushed to a scenic spot and dinner. When we returned to the hotel around 8:40 PM, our room key cards weren't even ready – incredibly inefficient. To make matters worse, there was no hot water in the rooms. The temperature had dropped significantly that day, and I was traveling with a 3-year-old and my 70-year-old mother. Both rooms had no hot water. I called the front desk, and they said they'd send someone, but we waited a good twenty minutes before a staff member finally arrived. It was clear the staff member wasn't trained; they couldn't speak English and immediately used their dirty hands to touch all the bath towels in the room. Then they just said ”five minutes” and left. We waited another ten-plus minutes with the child, and still no news. I had no choice but to call the front desk again and ask for a room change. I was told the hotel was fully booked. Desperate, I contacted Ctrip, and their overseas specialist spent a long time negotiating before the hotel finally agreed to a room change. However, by then it was past 10 PM, and our child couldn't stay up any longer. We had no choice but to give the child a quick wash and put them to bed. I've never encountered such a poorly managed hotel. I have no idea how it got a 4.9 rating. Also, the hotel's advertised free airport shuttle service is only available at 4 AM and 6 PM; all other times are chargeable. I'm writing this to save others from making the same mistake! We chose this hotel because it's part of the MGM brand, and the room decor and hardware are quite good, but the service (software) is absolutely terrible. So, our conclusion is: in Egypt, don't just look at the brand name of a hotel; as long as it's locally managed, it's a complete mess. ಢ🌚ಢ

On our first night, the room was not clean. After our first complaint, housekeeping did a simple cleanup but it was still unsatisfactory. With our second complaint, a deeper cleaning was arranged, and the room was finally clean — though it was already past midnight (around 1am). The hotel staff apologized and kindly compensated us with a dinner discount, which we appreciated. Overall, we are happy with the team’s fast response and service recovery. One small feedback: the facilities’ opening hours (spa and gym) clash with typical sightseeing schedules. Since they open late and close early, we were unable to enjoy them. It would be great if the hotel could consider extending the operating hours. Credit to the room towel decoration. Surprises everyday we came back from sightseeing. Talented creativity of towel art.

We stayed in the old building. The view from the window was beautiful, though photos probably look better from the new building. However, if you want to experience the hotel's traditional charm, the old building is definitely better. The hotel restaurant combines North African elegance with Baroque grandeur. The staff were well-mannered, polite, enthusiastic, decent, and attentive. Since we couldn't have breakfast at the hotel due to our trip to Abu Simbel, we asked the front desk to prepare a breakfast pack, which was very substantial. At sunset, a flutist plays in the lobby, adding a delightful ambiance.
