The hotel is not exactly like the photos and we were given a room that wasn’t the one booked but due to the language barrier was tough to explain that. We only encountered one staff and he was really friendly and helped us with our bags and checked if we needed any assistance even though he didn’t speak any english. The bed was comfortable and room was kind of clean, the room was really cold since we were there during fall and due to the mountains around it, it’s even colder. They provided water and toothpaste/toothbrush. The area is close to the national park (walking distance - very close) but that is not the elevator or Hallelujah mountain area! The hotel surrounding is kind of scary at night since it’s mainly woods and not a lot of stores/restaurants. We were able to find one great restaurant in the main road (picture attached- between the park and hotel) and the staff there was great and kind!

We stayed in this hotel for a few nights during golden week. They didn’t have any luggage storage but we were able to store our bags in the lobby as we arrived before check-in time. The staff is great, helpful and very friendly but they don’t speak much English. Thankfully we know a bit of Chinese and were able to use Google translate when we couldn’t understand. They helped us with locations to several places in Zhangjiajie. The room itself was quite alright. There was a bit of a cleanliness issue, it should’ve been swept more but that was the only major thing. I was quite satisfied. We had 3 rooms booked. The location is pretty good. A 10 minute walk to the avatar mountains location. It was very convenient. From there we were also able to take buses to the further locations like Tianmen mountain or the Grand Canyon and glass bridge. I don’t think the hotel provides breakfast but it’s located very close to several restaurants and we often just got Baozi to go. They were all located all the way to the forest park. Would stay again. Good price and convenient

This was a very comfortable stay, close to the South Gate entrance to the national forest park. The host was very helpful, friendly and we really appreciated his excellent effort of speaking English to us. We were able to use the laundry services and the wifi connection was good when we got it working. Lots of restaurants close by to get dinner in the evenings. Great stay- would recommend!

The room was clean and comfortable, the location was spectacular (a 15 minute walk from the national forest park), and the staff was so friendly and helpful. We had the best time!

Cannot find the hotel and it's far from the gate

Good service, clean and big room. Location is good, next to the south entrance of the park (like 15min walking), easy to access public transportation and restaurants. It is located in Wulingyuan but not inside the commercial area, from the hotel to the Center of the district: it’s a 40/50¥ ride (20/30min).

The place is cool, the wooden design of the room is especially nice. But be prepared that in the off-season it can be chilly there. You need to wait a little while the air conditioner warms up the room)

The room was very satisfactory. The inn is close to the south gate of Zhangjiajie and it is a short walk away. Free parking is available in the owner's yard. The owner is also very enthusiastic. He upgraded the room type and planned a one-day route for us in detail. Following the owner's route, we had a very smooth trip and there was almost no queue. Recommended~

I was very lucky to get Ctrip’s housekeeper to contact me and help me find this homestay because the host did not have enough rooms to refund after booking. I originally wanted to follow the online guide to start from the East Gate of Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, but I didn’t expect that this homestay was only 20 minutes away from the South Gate, and you can travel in reverse: arrive at the East Gate at 4 o’clock on the first day (before arriving at the homestay) - one-tenth of the Golden Whip Stream - Ten-mile Gallery (the small train is charged separately). Stay overnight at the homestay. The second day: it rained heavily in the morning until 12 o’clock. At 1 o’clock in the afternoon, the enthusiastic proprietress drove me and the elderly and children to the South Gate for three minutes - Huangshizhai (mainly around the Five Fingers Mountain, it has different names when you look at it from the side and it looks like a mountain) - South Gate Golden Whip Stream (after the rain, the evening is smoky and dreamy, like Journey to the West). The third day: leave the homestay at 7 o’clock in the morning and walk to the South Gate. There were not many people checking tickets at 7:30. It cost 120 yuan to find a local farmer to lead the way, which saved time and effort. They volunteered and started the reverse tour. The enthusiastic proprietress gave the map and drew a route map. Yangjiajie-Yuanjiajie (Mihuntai, Avatar filming location, No. 1 Bridge in the World, 10 yuan Yuanjiazhai with guide)-get off halfway at Tianzi Mountain, 78 yuan per adult for a round trip tour bus to see Dianjiangtai (also called Yubi Peak, different locations, the same mountain with different names) and the opposite ladder-Yangjiajie to see the Great Wall (worth a look)-Jinbianxi sit and rest. Come back and set off in the morning, one person takes a cable car, and the transportation bus is a special bus for our family, haha. Reverse tour is not crowded. Day 4: At 12 noon, walk from the entire line of Jinbianxi in the South Gate to Jinbianxi in the East Gate. Some elderly and children walked for two and a half hours to take the ladder, and basically no need to queue. At this time, people who came down the ladder lined up for three kilometers. I directly chose to take the reverse bus back to the South Gate: Ladder bus station-Yuanjiajie-Yangjiajie-cableway down the mountain to take a bus to Longfeng Temple in the South Gate, walk down and take a bus out, and sit in Jinbianxi to enjoy the scenery. No one will fight with you for the cable car when you go down the mountain. The transportation buses are basically special. There is a Xiangxi Tujia cuisine restaurant at the right intersection of the South Gate. The price is not expensive and the taste is good. I ate there for three consecutive days. The vegetarian dishes are basically 80 yuan for three dishes and one soup. Spicy and sour potato shreds are 12 yuan, scrambled eggs with tomatoes are 18 yuan, loofah soup is 15 yuan, eggplant and potatoes are 18 yuan, and mapo tofu is 20 yuan. Meat dishes usually start at 30 or 40 yuan. The dishes are slow to come out, but they taste good. I drove to see the Seventy-two Wonders Tower (which is a hotel) at night. The parking lot opposite the building is relatively empty, just right for taking panoramic photos. Tickets are required to enter the food street.

The room was OK, clean, not far from the south gate of the park, the owner was easy to talk to, but we were unlucky and encountered heavy fog when we entered Zhangjiajie and couldn't see anything

The places to eat recommended by the boss are also very good and economical. If you want to visit Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, it is right to choose the south gate accommodation. You can avoid queuing during the whole trip.

If you feel that your life is not satisfactory, I suggest you chat with the boss lady more. Chatting with her will make everything disappear, and only beauty will remain in the world. It is really worth recommending. I will stay here for half a month. I like the stream in front of the door the most. It is clear and pollution-free.

Just came back from Zhangjiajie. Because it is the off-season, there are very few tourists in the accommodation. The owner is very enthusiastic and planned a two-day tour route for us. The location of the inn is very quiet and worth recommending
