Yufuin Onsen Hotel Poppoan Reviews

We really enjoyed the stay at Poppo. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Food quality was very good. The room was very spacious for 2 people but the only issue was the wifi was a bit weak. Overall we like the hotel very much, glad that we chose this as our wedding 10th anniversary celebration!

The room is spacious, well-lit, and tidy. Hot spring bath available in the room. The scenery outside the windows is very nice and relaxing. The staff was pretty friendly and helpful. The hotel served a good portion of Japanese style dinner and breakfast. Highly recommended!

Nice Hotspring!

Local small hotels in traditional ways with two out door onsen. Feel a little bit small for the room and onsen, but feel great when use it. Meal and service care the privacy of customer in Japanese way. really amazing experience.Yufuin is a hot spot in Kyushu, so the price may not so good value but fair. I love the haori they provide

The onsen inside the room is too hot, more than 60 degree, which makes it impossible for people to use.

The maintenance of the Inn can be improved. The hot "bathing" spring does provide the privacy but the authentic onsen is chargeable (?) even though it's a small amount of 150 yens while is occupied most of the time. The food 😋 is well done, with local ingredients and even a highlight of the New Year dumpling. 👌 Had suggested to the manager that a cup of coffee would ne nice touch to the breakfast, even though it's the local Japanese style.

The hotel is quite a walk away from the train station but you can call the front desk with the public phone and they will arrange to pick you up. We really enjoyed the private bath in our room. The dinner & breakfast provided was top tier as well! We'll gladly come back for another stay in the future! 👍

good breakfast & dinner, good service, good private hot spring!!

It is not easy to reach the hotel without a GPS. This makes it a hidden gem. The highlight of the hotel is definitely the private onsen. The size of the onsen can accommodate two people and the water temperature is just perfect. The onsen overlooks the fields and privacy is well preserved.

Fantastic meal offered by the hotel and wonderful in-room onsen experience. The staff are nice and feel like home. Nice stay!

This is the problem of the agency because there is a typhoon and no train going to the Yufuin and they cannot cancel the booking for this situation even though they know about the suspension of the train service. Not flexible enough!!! It’s $5000 HKD and cannot cancel! Never book through this website!

With pick up service. The staff are very nice. Can enjoy open air bath in the room, very relax.
