Hotels in Slender West Lake Tourist District, Yangzhou

Yangzhou State Guesthouse is located within a sprawling area where many of the facilities are within walking distance. It is like staying in a holiday resort. You can either walk to the different facilities or take the buggy provided. The Slender West Lake (瘦西湖） is just beside the Guesthouse and is definitely worth a visit both during the day and in the evening. A bit too hot to visit in the summer, but it will be nice during spring and/or autumn.

Service so good it might shock you at first. My fiancé and I stayed here for almost a week, and every staff member we interacted with went above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable and our needs were met. (For e.g., when my fiancé was ill, they offered to pack up some of the breakfast and send it to our room, and the staff practically insisted that they help us with our laundry and delivered our laundered clothes neatly folded to our room.) I speak a little Mandarin which I admit was helpful, but I’m a few of the staff do speak English (and most of the signage is also available in English).

I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Yangzhou! It truly feels like a hidden gem. From the moment I got off the bus, I felt the essence of service. They thoughtfully opened the car door, helped with my luggage, and patiently guided me up the elevator to the fifth floor. As soon as the elevator door opened, I was greeted by hotel staff who meticulously asked about my check-in details. After super-fast check-in, they took me to my room and told me that the water and Coke and Sprite in the mini-fridge were free. If I ran out of water, I could call the front desk and they would bring more. They patiently explained the hotel's amenities (the laundry room, the gym, the outdoor balcony), and I could just order laundry service by bagging it. It was absolutely amazing! My room didn't include breakfast, but two breakfasts were added upon check-in. The selection wasn't particularly extensive, but it was excellent, and the freshly cooked food was thoughtfully served to my seat. On the last day, I was debating whether to do laundry. I went to the dryer just in time and found that the cleaning lady had already put my clothes away (some of them were thicker, like jeans). Since I was in a hurry to go to the Grand Canal Museum, the cleaning lady told me that if I was in a hurry, I could take them out in advance so that it would be easier to pack my suitcase. Value for money: Throughout the whole process, the service was really good... I will choose Huazhu Club again next time! It's really good... I highly recommend it!

Excellent hotel in great location. The highlight was the service provided by the staff which was always with a smile. Our traveling party was unfortunately sick when we got to Yangzhou but the hotel was located close to the hospital. They sent us a lot of fruits to the room, wishing speedy recovery. There’s a small newly renovated children playroom next to the gym. I love the complimentary laundromat which was a blessing when traveling with little children. Breakfast was a good variety, and plenty of bottled mineral water around the hotel that you can take to keep yourself hydrated. Front desk 苹果and 桔子 provided excellent service.

For a trip to Yangzhou, this hotel is highly recommended! Location + environment + service fully meet the needs of tourists, it is worth visiting! Eat Jiangjiaqiao dumplings and noodles in the morning and enjoy the lanterns in the ancient alleys at night. It is very convenient. Take a taxi to Slender West Lake for 8 minutes/bike for 15 minutes. Avoid the high-priced homestays in the scenic area during the peak season. The bus stop is at the door. I came to Yangzhou for this B&B, and I just want to say it's really worth it. The housekeeper will inform the address of the B&B in advance, and will help turn on the air conditioner in advance after communicating the arrival time. The Chinese-style furnishings in the lobby are so good to take pictures, and they look good in any photos. The B&B also provides free Hanfu experience, so you don't have to worry about not bringing enough clothes to take pictures. The room has its own small courtyard with strong privacy, which is very suitable for traveling with babies. The B&B will provide bath bags + bath salts. It's so comfortable to take a bath in the B&B at night after a day of shopping. The breakfast of the B&B is also amazing. The picky child ate a whole bowl of noodles. It was a pleasant experience. I will continue to stay with my friends next time.

Absolutely amazing location and so refreshing. I enjoyed my stay at holiday inn, the stuff was very helpful, I liked the breakfast and everything. Also very affordable for a solo traveler. It’s close to a lot of attractions and the slender night market too. I had so much fun. The stuff helped me with getting around and booking taxi for me and recommendations as well. Thanks to Asa again at the reception. Amazing person.

It was my first time to Yangzhou. Xiyuan Hotel was quiet in the bustling city, and the landscaping was very good. It was very close to the surrounding attractions, and the geographical location was advantageous. Tianning Temple was next to the door, and 468 Market and Geyuan Garden were 7 minutes' walk away. It was very close to Slender West Lake and Heyuan Garden. I stayed there for 2 days during this trip, and the elders at home also felt very comfortable. I would stay there again if I went there next time. The hotel is also historical, and there may be some defects, but the hotel is also actively dealing with them. (After notifying the front desk about the problem with the bedside socket, they replied within 30 minutes to arrange for it to be handled the next day. Sure enough, it was repaired when I returned to the hotel after the tour the next day.) The hotel staff were polite and considerate, and took the initiative to greet people. It made people feel at home.

Best location if you wanted to visit Slender Lake as the entrance is just across the road. There are restaurants to the left of the resort as well if opting to dine out. The resort is quite big, with separate buildings housing different types of rooms. Well catered for families with kids. We got the room with a hot spring inside so we didn’t visit the public one.

A very good value hotel. The waiter was very enthusiastic and upgraded the room for free. The room was large, the bedding was appropriate, especially the memory pillow, which relieved the fatigue of a day's journey. MiniBar also provided a capsule coffee machine, replenished canned drinks and snacks every day, and the small details were very well done. The hair dryer was also Dyson, and the price was more than 300 for a five-star experience. When checking out, I asked for a bag of Yangzhou specialty ox-skin candy as a gift. The only drawback is that the hotel is a bit remote, and it takes a long time to walk to Dongguan Street.
