Vientiane City Center
My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights in a balcony room on the 3rd floor. The guest house is a good location right in the heart of Vientiane. The room was spacious, clean and had good lighting. The staff there are very friendly always greeting my wife and I with a smile. The bed was wide but a little on the hard side for me. My only complaint is that the guest house does not have an elevator, so dragging your luggage up 3 flights of stairs might turn into a physical fitness test. Also rooms are not soundproof so if you are awaken easily by noises don't choose a room with balcony instead choose a room in the interior of the building.

Hive Hostel - Adults Only

Mekong Riverside
Located in the heart of Vientiane City, this hotel is close to the Presidential Palace and the Arc de Triomphe. There are more restaurants nearby. The hotel is booked online, but pays cash at the front desk and does not support credit card and Alipay payments. The room has air conditioning, the toilet and shower are separate and common. The hardware is very simple, but the bed linen is very white, it should be the newly purchased cloth. Breakfast, bananas, bread, coffee, tea, and a simple breakfast buffet are available.

Very poor service No elevator in hotel No lobby reception No English My friend has a suitcase with nearly 20kg of luggage. The hotel has arranged a room on the 4th floor for my friend. I wouldn't have chosen this hotel if it wasn't recommended by Trip.com

Vientiane City Center
Overall a really good hostel to stay in Vientiane. We couldn't find any available rooms online anymore so we direct messaged them on Facebook and it turned out they still had a twin room free for our dates. The room was not very large but big enough to be comfortable in. Bathroom was clean but the toilet seat was loose so had to be careful using this. All in all the room was good enough for us. The café downstairs is really nice, breakfast that was included was lovely and large portions (especially the rice soup) and the food we had for lunch there was amazing. Really nice vibes as well so you could even come here just for the food if you're staying elsewhere. The only minus for this place is the location. It's a bit on the edge of the city centre and quite a walk away from the hustle and bustle. There's some things to do close by, like the famous arch, but most good restaurants and bars are on the other end of the centre 15-20 minutes walk away. We don't mind walking a bit so not a huge problem for us but just something to keep in mind. We also organised our transport, the sleeper bus service to Pakse, which all went really well. They picked us up in a minivan at the agreed time and brought us to the bus station. There the driver paid for our tickets and showed us to our sleeper bus. We were surprised by the bus in a positive way, which was much better and nicer than we expected from all the stories we'd heard. It looked like the driver bought the tickets from a company called Chitprasong and they used King of Bus buses which were pretty comfortable. Just be aware the beds are for 2 people so if you're alone you'll have to share with a stranger. All in all highly recommend though
