Manza Onsen Nisshinkan Reviews

We drove up to Manza Ski Resort. It wasn’t difficult to find but because of adverse weather conditions, we had to take the longer route. The Princes Hotel were accommodating, had good amenities for a hotel located high up in the mountains. It could do with a slight renovation, as there were leaks coming from the ceiling of the hallways. The breakfast and dinner selection which were provided by the hotel were of decent selection. The highest onsen in Japan according to locals and our Japanese friend. Better check out before the 10 AM time, otherwise a long form of queue awaits you at the reception. A beautiful experience of outdoor snow and mineralised hot Onsen.

The Japanese-style room in the South Annex is old, large, and has a low-end toilet. The fried food is not good, the crust is too thick and hard, the sesame balls/cakes and other desserts/pineapples are delicious, and they seem to be the same as the cakes in the Manza-tei cuisine desserts, and there are more varieties. The open-air bath Gokurakuyu is outdoors, which is quite inconvenient and crowded. The men's bath is better than the women's bath; the indoor hot spring hurts your feet after entering

The location is a bit far on the top of the mountain. There is snow when driving up there, but the road is still passable. The traditional Japanese tatami is very clean. The room only has a toilet and a washbasin. There is no bathroom. You have to go to the large bathhouse in the lobby to take a shower. This is a bit inconvenient. The biggest problem is that you have to walk about 100 meters out of the hotel to soak in the hot springs. It is cold outside. The road is dark and slippery, so I don’t recommend it if there are elderly people or children. One night, two meals a night, there was a buffet. It was the worst dining hall I had in Japan. I got up at around 8 o’clock in the morning to freshen up and get ready for breakfast, and went to the dining hall. It’s not open. It turns out that it’s over at 9:00. I haven’t tried the hotel and it’s over at 9:00. I can only drive down the mountain to find a place to eat by myself. The place is good and the scenery is beautiful, but I really won’t go there again.

The scenery is very beautiful. The hot spring is very comfortable. The food is delicious. There are many choices. The price is not too expensive. I will go again when I have a chance. I like it very much.

A friend comes here to stay here for a few days every winter. The winter outdoor hot spring and snow scenery he sent me attracted me, and this year I finally got to stay for two nights. The overall value for money is good. Although the hotel is a bit old, it is clean and tidy, and the hot spring pool is also tidy. The breakfast and dinner buffet dishes are quite rich. It’s nice to soak in the hot springs and watch the snow scenery here in winter. Will recommend friends to come here.

万座温泉 日進舘 Staying in Manza onsen for two nights, and found out rather quiet during the day. We tried to make a trip to other onsen hotels, but taxis or public buses were unavailable, and walking was not an option because of the snow and icy roads. We were stuck in the hotel, with nowhere to go, and surprisingly, the reception staff were unwilling to help. It was a rather disappointing experience for us. Luckily, we met Mr. Honda outside the hotel, unsure of his position with this hotel, and he offered to drive us to the Manza Kogen Hotel. We were so grateful. However, upon arrival, we discovered the Hotel was closed for the day. Mr Honda later suggested Juraku hotel also in the neighbourhood. We were very thankful for the recommendation and had an enjoyable onsen moment in Juraku. Mr Honda later even returned to pick us up. Thank you very much! Your kindness and generosity are much appreciated.

I went there once a few years ago in the winter, and this was my second time. There is a direct bus from Shinjuku that takes about four hours every day, which is very convenient for me since I don't have a car. I stayed at Yukemurikan, which is the most affordable. To get there, you have to go down a flight of stairs, walk down a long corridor, and then go up another flight of stairs... it's like a maze, but I love this kind of complicated structure, so I was excited. There is no toilet or sink, but that's not a problem. The hot spring is excellent, with milky, smooth water. Gokuraku-yu in particular is truly heavenly when the weather is good. All the food was delicious. Some people feel that the number of dishes is small, but for me, there are enough dishes and I can't possibly try everything. There are a variety of Japanese dishes, Chinese dishes, fried foods, and desserts such as bite-sized apple pie and roll cake were substantial. I really liked the rice dumplings, black rice steamed rice, and boiled taro and squid. There was a mini buffet for lunch as well. At night, there was a live performance in the lobby, which changed every day, and I just happened to go and see it, but it was more interesting than I expected. I was told that I could take a bath even after checking out, so I took as many baths as I could. It seemed like there were a lot of regulars, and I could understand why. I'd like to come back again when I have the time.

In Europe and America, it's normal to have a Bible in your hotel room, but I still didn't feel well, so I asked them to take it with them. [② The lights in my room are hung too low, so I end up hitting my head] I'm not very tall, but even though I'm careful, I end up hitting my head many times, so I'm probably not used to other lights until now. I'm sure the customer was also complaining about this, and when I mentioned this to the front desk staff, they just looked at me and said, ``So what?'' I'm not saying anything to apologize for. All you need to do is shorten the power cable to the light. I don't think this is a difficult issue, so I think the correct answer is to deal with it immediately. Well, you could say it was my fault for being stingy and choosing a cheap room. If you have a lot of money to spare, it would be a good idea to choose a room with a higher price. As for the food, reviews are clearly mixed, but the taste itself was delicious. But surely the number of items is quite small? The bath was great! The hot spring guard was checking the water quality early in the morning, which I thought was amazing for an inn that prides itself on its hot springs. There is a heater in the changing room of the public bath, which is a good thing since it can be cold even in summer. I was told that I could take a bath in the hot springs even after checking out, so I went back and forth between the public bath and my car many times, enjoying Manza's famous hot springs. There were plenty of amenities, and I was happy with the small details such as keeping glasses in the refrigerator to keep them cold, but I'm sorry, but I won't be visiting again. To Manza Onsen, we will stay at a regular inn in Kusatsu Onsen and make day trips to visit various facilities. Thank you a lot for your hospitality.

I will list the good and bad points. [Good points] - The hot springs are moderately hot. The hot spring itself is not much different from other Manza Onsen inns.・The foreign staff were kinder. [Bad points] ・The dinner was terrible. Aren't inn employees embarrassed to serve this kind of food to guests? There was no main dish, cold tempura, freshly grilled sausage (would you serve something like this for dinner?), and nothing else that would be suitable for dinner. Also, despite the buffet, the food itself was lacking in variety and taste was poor. My child was looking forward to it because it was a buffet, but he was very disappointed and felt sorry for him.・The attitude of the employees can be described as arrogant.
