This place is historically full of charm. Felt like a trip back in time to experience this traditional hotel with comfortable hot spring pools and delicious freshly catered meals prepared with local ingredients. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Definitely made for a wonderful, memorable trip.

Nice hotel, good service good food nice onsen. Love the snowy weather, staff is so attentive to offer umbrella.

Remote location but near to shinhotake ropeway. Very quaint hotel. We stayed in a Japanese room. We did not have dinner in hotel and have to step out when they make the bed for the evening. We were told we can stay in the room but felt that we got in the way. They were very efficient and it was done in under 15mins. The hotel was small and there were 2 different wings. It’s a bit troublesome to take 2 diff lifts to go to dining area/bath. Front desk was earnest but non english speaking. The outdoor baths were really nice. You have to take a small single cabin inclined elevator that you operate on your own to get there. Otherwise a short climb/ stairs. Breakfast was splendid and one of the best we had experienced during our trip. Ingredients were fresh and the portions were just nice.

The onsen was wonderful. We can see a river. The food was fantastic. We really enjoyed our stay.

Nice hotel with nice view and nice hotspring

Very impressed by the meals especially the dinner. It’s is excellent and of high quality. The onsen are exceptional experience especially the outdoor where u take the cute life down across the street. Rooms are clean and functional.

Bed and furniture in room is old while pillows are small. Good Onsen but few facilities and Onsen water is not very hot. Ok dinner set but good breakfast. Smelly toilets.

Not recommend for family trip. The location is good if next day morning you go to the ropeway. Just driving 5 mins there. Many Chinese tours living there. Very noise and crowded everywhere. My family 4 members, 2 rooms checked in at 1730. The staff gave me one paper(with all restaurant names) and said “no dinner, no breakfast” because all restaurants occupied by the tours. No booking no seat. We never know it. The location is nothing surrounding that we need to drive 25 mins for one so call convenience store to buy cup noodles to my kids under the dark night. The staff just tell you cannot serve you. No seat. Very clear. Room is clean. Because the first priority is giving to big group and tours, suggest you pre-book the restaurant before living there. Bad experience. Compare with the price. Service below standard. Not value for money.

The mountain view was fantastic and the environment was zen and peaceful. It is a great place to get away and not forgetting to mention the great dinner and hospitality we enjoyed. Onsen was outdoor and remember to use the cable car to get to it. Great hotel!

The Western-style room we stayed in at the hot spring hotel this time was very spacious, about 500 square feet, with two sets of sofas and a small coffee table. After putting two beds in, there was still plenty of space. The hotel has a constant temperature swimming pool, providing mixed bathing for men and women, indoor and outdoor hot springs for men and women, and you can also pay to book a private hot spring. I will stay there next time.

Overall, it is a mature resort hotel. You won't make mistakes. The hot spring requires a small tram, which is a relatively novel experience, and the bathing clothes are 3 layers, which are very beautiful. The hotel's set meal and dinner are very rich, which is worth looking forward to. The hot spring experience is also very good. There is also a foot bath next to the lobby. If it is not convenient for the hot spring, you can come here to soak your feet, which is also a good experience. If you don't understand something, there will be Chinese waiters to connect, so you can rest assured.
