The Fullerton Hotel Sydney Reviews

We were greeted by a very friendly asian man receptionist even if we arrived too early. We had marvelous time following his suggestion to look around close market. The hotel is very luxurious & clean. Located close to all the great attractions as well as the airport. Especially, the fast checkout option was very convenient. Wish they had postcards with historic information about this hotel and if I could have sent postcards to my family back in Korea since this hotel is a historic place(post office building). I'm looking forward to coming back to Sydney and staying here again and exploring other branches around the world.

Stayed in a heritage room for the third time over the last 15 years and the rooms are showing there age. Also maintance is lacking. 8 inch crack in basin, a builder has written 20/07/20 behind glass in toilet , presumably before it was completed for the Olympics. Door hardware loose and crooked. General appearance just above shabby. No a/c in foyer during the two night stay, meaning enjoying a drink was a sweaty affair. Broken awning about breakfast restaurant. Looks shabby now.  No one I say appears to do any cleaning.  Disappointed for what is supposed to be five star and cost $492 per night. Can’t justify going again.

The hotel was amazing with great location and wonderful facilities. The hotel has an authentic vibe and gives you the feel of being in the heart of Sydney. Definitely recommend.  Some basic issues with the shower but the staff will help you out.

We absolutely love the location of the hotel, which is just so convenient for us to visit different places. The room is spacious and clean. There aren’t a lot of choices at the breakfast and the food tasted rather mediocre. Be that as it may, we had an enjoyable stay here.

Very nice hotel at the centre of Sydney, close to the harbour, the shopping area and the Sydney Tower. The room is clean and big, but not very new. Overall a good experience.

AC in room 2614 wasn’t working but we called hotel staff and they immediately changed to the new room which is bigger. Thanks for promptly responsible. Breakfast is not too much choices tho. Thought it could have been better for 5 star hotel.

Staying in Fullerton Hotel is a wonderful experience. Hesitating between the Fullerton Hotel and the Four Season，finally here we are. Half an hour was spent on the way to the hotel from Sydney International Airport by train，which is in the vicinity of St James Station. Greeted by professional concierge and receptionist，the check in was less than 5 mins. 1 dollar was deducted from card as deposit. The room of 40 square meters was really big for two person. Mini bar was filled with different kind of drinks. Bed & sofa was soft and cozy. Room service was available via a black i-pad on the table，paid by either cash or card when checking out. Sydney Opera House & Hyde Park was nearby，together with other luxury stores. The room price was friendly during off-season，which will definitely double when the new year come. Haven’t tried the Four Season yet and can not give any comments，but Fullerton experience was truly nice and worthy.

Good location. It is within walking distance to the Rock, the Opera House, the QVB, Darling Harbour, the Art Gallery. The room is spacious. Good service.

Great stay to have desserts for welcoming. The room is so spacious and the bed is comfortable. The buffets in the morning have a range of varieties and really nice. We can have access to executive lounge to enjoy afternoon teas and capanes at night. The staff are so polite with great service minds. The hotel sanitizers are Ecolab, which makes me feel safe and clean. I will definitely consider to come back for stay next time.

The location is unbeatable. It’s in the middle of CBD and only 10 min walk to circular Quay. We did not stay in the heritage room, instead, we chose the tower room. TBH, we expected nicer interior design. The furniture gave us an IKEA feel. Fullerton in both Singapore and HK is very nicely done. When we turned on the hot water for either shower or bath, it makes a screeching noise sometimes, which was not pleasant to hear. Anyway, the room is clean and the cleaning ladies were very nice and friendly. The breakfast was good too. Overall, the staff were really good!

This is a beautiful hotel retaining the history of the GPO. Rooms are large and clean with good views into the central courtyard. However the service was as bad as I’ve ever experienced. I don’t usually write bad reviews but I felt this time it was needed. At check in the woman refused to smile as I made small talk - very unwelcoming after a 12 hour journey. She seemed disappointed I had breakfast included as she was looking up the daily rate. Then she tossed the keycard across the desk to me and said “there you go”. I had to ask the way to the lift, where the fitness centre was and where breakfast was served.  The next day housekeeping knocked twice before checkout time to ask when I was leaving.  No one seemed to smile here Very unsettling experience for a 5 star hotel. Save your money and go elsewhere in Sydney
