The hotel is located at a major T-junction in Mudu, an old town incorporated in Suzhou. This means that it is on a reasonably busy road. Nevertheless the excellent sound isolation makes it not much of a bother. As all Atour- hotels, personnel is trained well and is generally welcoming. Room and overall space in this hotel was a little bit tight compared to other Atour hotels I visited. Nevertheless overall I think Atour hotel are one of the best values for this quality of any hotel chain in China, as is this one. Membership, available for less than 100 yuan carries attractive options such as very cheap breakfast, late checkout (1600) and more. I had a good stay, coming in late with my bike, which they allowed to stay in the lobby for safe guarding.

The room is clean and decent size. The front desk staff is friendly. However, the staff at the entrance handling cars and customers enquiry on getting taxi was terrible. He is not professional and untidy, not the usual personnel you would expect of the Marriot brand. The hotel is too far from places of interest n the location of the hotel is somewhat weird. However, there is a shopping mall next to the hotel.

After walking around the ancient town for most of the day, I was too tired to walk when I arrived at Karen Century Hotel. Originally, since the hotel was relatively cheap, I didn't have much expectations. We were pleasantly surprised from the moment we checked in. The warm and attentive front desk, the welcoming greeting, the clean and hygienic environment, the warm and simple decoration, and the prompt and appropriate wake-up call all made us happy. Although we only stayed there for one day, it left a deep impression on me and my children. When checking out, the child kept waving to the front desk. The next day, we went to the next room to get them. When we first arrived, we also looked at the two rooms downstairs and they looked like they were newly renovated. They looked quite new.
