Very clean, comfortable hotel. Staff were a bit rude and were visibly frustrated when speaking to me as they had to use my translation app (which only required them to speak into my phone). Apart from that, the hotel itself was lovely.

Location: Driving from Shanghai for 108 kilometers, it takes about 1.45 hours. Facing East Taihu Lake, there is no obstruction in front. It is the best view position of Suzhou Bay Hotel together with Hengli Hotel, so if the economic conditions allow, you must book a lake view room. Turn right after leaving the hotel, cross the road, and walk for 3-5 minutes to Suzhou Cultural Center, including cinemas, theaters, museums, and digital museums, which are all free to visit. You can also go directly to the Taihu Lake and walk for 5 minutes to the observation deck. On weekend nights, you can go to the lakeside in advance to reserve a seat to watch the musical fountain, the sunset, and the market. There are also beer bars open until the early morning, with many types of beer. Environment: The hotel building is tall, the environment is bright, the interior design is young and modern, the lobby public space is large, there are free tea and candy, and there is also a coffee bar at your own expense. The apartment hotel does not have a restaurant, but there is one next door. There is also a restaurant at the wedding center, which is a 5-minute walk from the hotel. I am very satisfied with my stay at Holiday Inn Suzhou East Taihu Lake! I felt the hotel's attentiveness from the moment I booked. The day before check-in, the housekeeper Xiao Luo took the initiative to contact me to confirm my itinerary and needs, and asked about my check-in preferences and precautions in detail, which made me feel very considerate. After arriving at the hotel, Xiao Luo's enthusiastic reminder was even more of a plus, introducing the hotel facilities and surrounding travel guides. Everything was excellent – the environment, the service, everything. There's a shuttle service to the hot springs, so you don't have to walk at all. Even though the hot springs are quite close, the shuttle staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. While soaking in the hot springs, we also encountered many staff members with wonderful attitudes. They even shared tips on the best times and spots for sunset views, and pointed out kid-friendly areas. Honestly, everything was top-notch. I only managed to snap a picture of one staff member's badge, as their service was particularly impressive, but all the staff were truly great; I just didn't get photos of everyone. The hotel swimming pool was also fantastic, and the coffee was delicious. We didn't get a chance to explore other facilities, but my child already said they want to come back again!

It was my first time staying at Le Méridien Suzhou Bay. I specially booked a room with a 270-degree lake view. Although it rained on the day of check-in and visibility was average, the night view was unique. The restaurant on the basement floor of the hotel is also very good, suitable for business banquets, highly recommended!

The hotel's front desk is located on the 27th floor, offering fantastic views from its high elevation. The room was clean and tidy, decorated in a simple European style which I really liked. The buffet breakfast offered both Chinese and Western options. Xiao Huang at the front desk provided excellent service, and check-in was handled very quickly. I will definitely choose to stay here again on future business trips.

This hotel cannot be faulted. First of all, its geographical location is excellent, which is very convenient for both business travel and leisure vacation. I chose the Hengli Hotel specifically for its proximity to the Suzhou Bay Grand Theater, where I was catching a show. My stay was exceptionally good from check-in. The hotel's facilities, ambiance, cleanliness, and front desk service were all top-notch. What's more, the room even included a dedicated butler service. The Grand Theater is conveniently located directly across the street, making it an easy walk – perfect for theatergoers. From my room window, the scenery of Dong Taihu Lake was breathtaking, offering sweeping views of the picturesque lake and mountains. It was a pity, though, that it was cloudy that day, so I missed out on the 'legendary' sunset. I definitely hope to return for a weekend getaway!
