I was a bit worried after reading some reviews before my trip, which mentioned outdated facilities, small, somewhat cramped rooms, and a disappointing breakfast. However, after staying for two days myself, I found it to be absolutely wonderful, with no issues or discomfort. The hotel's ambiance perfectly captures the essence of Suzhou gardens, and every window offers a unique and pleasant view, truly lifting your spirits. The rooms themselves were clean, tidy, and certainly didn't feel cramped at all. Breakfast was 68 RMB per person, and we opted for it on both days of our stay. It felt very much worth the price – delicious and with a good variety of dishes. The hotel boasts both indoor and outdoor swimming pools with clean water, and they were quite popular with children. We also tried a few of the hotel's restaurants. None of them disappointed; the food at each was fantastic, and I highly recommend trying them out. The Panmen Scenic Area is stunning in the evening, making it a great place to visit with others.

The room was great, with two large beds, perfectly accommodating our group of three adults and two children. The kids absolutely loved the room! The only minor drawback was that due to its spaciousness, it took quite a while for the air conditioning to cool down. However, the evening temperature was just right for someone like me who tends to feel the cold.
The hotel's location, transportation access, and service were all excellent. The young front desk staff, both male and female, were incredibly warm and enthusiastic. We even found out one of them was from our hometown – recognized their accent immediately!
We stayed for three nights while exploring Suzhou for three days, and overall, it was a delightful experience. I truly loved Suzhou and hope to revisit, perhaps after I retire!

Everything else was acceptable, but the service definitely didn't match five-star expectations. It seemed to lack standardized procedures (SOPs), relying purely on individual staff performance, which frankly, was worse than what you'd get at a mid-range chain like Atour or Hanting.
The first major red flag was when I tried calling the front desk after 10 PM and no one picked up. I eventually had to use the call feature via my Ctrip booking to finally get connected. It's truly incomprehensible why there was no one answering the phone late at night.
The second red flag was the state of the breakfast restaurant. When I arrived at 9:30 AM, the place was a complete mess. While there were plenty of empty tables, they simply couldn't clear them fast enough, leaving me to stand around and flag down a server. There was a wide variety of dishes, but the layout was chaotic and confusing, forcing me to walk back and forth. Western and Chinese options were jumbled together, and I even had to search for the coffee machine, which was located far from the other food stations near the entrance. That said, the spread was quite generous. The pan-fried buns, despite being pre-made, tasted decent, and the braised pork noodles were also good. They even offered Yakult and Classy yogurt, suggesting a very generous budget for food.
The third major letdown was the Hanfu photography experience. We were promised an hour-long session, but they clearly rushed it as soon as they realized we weren't going to pay for any extras. It ended before my child even had a chance to get comfortable. The photos were absolutely dreadful, completely dark, as if the camera's exposure hadn't been adjusted at all – my phone takes better pictures. I begrudgingly picked out three photos in the end, but I honestly couldn't find one more decent shot if my life depended on it.
The guided tour was decent, but again, the time was cut short. They advertised an hour, but it lasted only about 30 minutes. While I don't necessarily demand a full hour, they shouldn't claim it if they can't deliver. The morning tour group was excessively crowded; I imagine an afternoon session would be better. Both Chiang Kai-shek's Residence and the 571 Site are worth visiting. There's also Mingxuan, which is modeled after the Master of the Nets Garden. Taking children there for photos is a much better experience than battling the crowds at the Humble Administrator's Garden.
Another problem with staying here is that taking a taxi from Shiquan Street often leads to heavy traffic congestion. While it's very close to the Master of the Nets Garden and Canglang Pavilion, if your main destinations are the Humble Administrator's Garden, Suzhou Museum, Beisi Pagoda, Tiger Hill, or even Suzhou Station, staying in the northern part of the old city would actually be more convenient.

Arrived at front desk to do checkin, male front desk attended to me and did my check-in. Shared that he did a free upgrade for us, and asked for a 5star review. (But i believe in an honest review)
Then came the deposit collection of 500RMB. Site show Cash/Credit/Alipay/Wechat Pay. Since i have excess cash with no use, i decide to do cash deposit. Not to mention site shows *non cash deposit may take 2-4 weeks to refund* The guy gave an unwilling face to receive it and wanted a change of deposit method, asking if i have Alipay or WeChat pay since ”We dont even use cash in china mainland anymore. We all use ewallets. Also, you giving cash deposit will require longer checkout process as it is more tedious” When i shared that this was excess cash with no use as i also use Alipay, he asked me to change my deposit method.
Next we wanted to do laundry, but it was a chargeable (?) facility. Other hotels are giving free laundry but here at this *5star* hotel is chargeable..? Nevertheless, for obvious reason, we can't use the self laundry service because it requires an APP installation and account setup that can only be tied to a local number, which we do not have as a tourist. When attended to front desk, we had to ask for specifically their help to run the washer and the first thing the male front desk ask was ”i can help you run it, but how do you want to pay me for the fees later?”
Went up to the laundry room with him at level 2 and he was enquiring if we can do Alipay or WeChat pay for the fees before he even assist with the wash. It was merely a 5RMB! Immediately ask for me to add him on WeChat and facilitate payment at soonest.
Free gifts by hotel - we only tried out the canal cruise. But of cos, for the reservation with hotel is 2H prior, but to receive the reservation details is with local number. Since I have already added their WeChat so they sent me the booking details with the local number confirmation. But we had issues at cruise to scan the QR code as it was not the right one.
Breakfast, basic spread i'd say. Not the best, quite limited but i suppose it's sufficient for filling up your empty stomach before finding alternative outside.
Room size is definitely spacious since ”upgrade” was given.
We transported around with DiDi but the drop off lobby is so tight that the drivers made us board the car on main road with so many cars moving, which can be quite dangerous especially we still have to check the carplate numbers.
Metro station, however, is just across the street. Which is very accessible for guest doing public transport.
All in all, i would say the hotel offers a very comfortable sleep for the room amenities but the hotel facilities and service requires more improvement.

Great location, just less than 100metre walking distance exit from MRT station.
Good front desk service.
The hotel looks aged and air conditioning is not functioning well.
The temperature setting is useless even though setting the temperature to 21degc, the room temperature still remain as 25/26degc.
Tried to make complaint to front desk and they said can’t fix it. Only can provide a stand fan as a countermeasure.

The hotel is perfectly situated right on Guanqian Street and is very easy to find. While the entrance may seem modest, stepping inside reveals a surprisingly spacious and charming interior.
First and foremost, the room was exceptionally clean, with absolutely no dusty corners or overlooked spots. My mom, who has incredibly high standards for cleanliness, even commented on how spotless it was. The cleaning staff did a thorough job daily, always ensuring the floors were spotless.
The room facilities were comprehensive and very convenient to use. The toiletries, all from the brand AFU, had a lovely fragrance.
The hotel's front desk is located on the 6th floor, where you'll also find a laundry room and a microwave. What's more, the front desk offers a complimentary laundry service, washing and drying your clothes so you can simply pick them up after a day out. This was incredibly convenient and showed truly excellent service. The 6th floor also features a beautiful terrace and a charming indoor common area, which is particularly atmospheric and inviting during rainy weather.
I would definitely choose to stay here again on my next visit to Suzhou.

Room was in poor condition, the rug was spilled and dirty, bedsheets had stains. The bathroom has no ventilation to let the floor dry. The bathtub was black from scratches and stains. In 4 star hotels in other cities there are better kept rooms for half the price. Staff only speaks Chinese.

Amy Hotel is absolutely fantastic; it truly stole my heart. Having worked in the hotel industry for over a decade, with brands like Ritz-Carlton, Shangri-La, and the Marriott Group, I was genuinely and delightfully surprised by Amy Hotel in Suzhou.
Firstly, the staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful. They responded promptly and efficiently to any issues, genuinely going the extra mile to resolve guests' problems. Their smiles were warm, and their service was attentive and gentle. You could really feel that they took pleasure in serving others.
Secondly, the hotel's decor and design created a very comfortable ambiance, with exceptional attention to detail. It truly offers five-star service without the five-star price tag. The availability of two different pillow types was incredibly thoughtful, especially for guests with neck issues; it's rare to find such comfortable pillows. I sincerely hope the hotel maintains this high standard, and I eagerly anticipate seeing this brand expand to other cities someday.
Areas for improvement: The gap beneath the door was a bit wide, allowing light from the corridor to seep into the room. Furthermore, the toilet's built-in night light, for those sensitive to light, could potentially disturb sleep. The shower head was also quite high and non-adjustable, which could be inconvenient for shorter guests and children.
Despite these minor points, they did not detract from the overall excellent experience. My daughter was genuinely reluctant to leave on our last day. Amy Hotel was truly a highlight of our trip to Suzhou!

The location is excellent, offering convenient access to all attractions. The subway station is right outside the hotel, providing excellent connectivity. Key attractions like the Humble Administrator's Garden, Lion Grove Garden, and Pingjiang Road are roughly 30 minutes away by taxi or 40 minutes by subway.
The front desk staff were incredibly helpful. Noticing we had children, they kindly offered a complimentary upgrade to a south-facing family room. The room was clean and tidy, featuring a comfortable 1.8m king-size bed, a 1.35m sofa bed, an eye-care lamp, and a small writing desk. Our child was very happy with it.
Breakfast is served on the 19th floor, boasting a wide variety of dishes and panoramic views. Overall, our two-day stay was an extremely satisfying experience.

Awesome! Everything was perfect in my stay with my family. I arrived in the evening and was looking for dining options only to realise they serve dinner in the hotel so it was convenient. However, they mostly had sea food options so you can talk to the waitress to advise on other options available. It's also close to shopping malls where you can get restaurants.
Checking in was fast and they only required to copy my passport together with my family's and voila! The room was spacious enough and they provided toiletries for occupants. You can be provided with an extra key in case you need. The hotel has a nice theme park indoors for kids, quite convenient for families and also have a swimming pool. They also have a luggage storage service and the front desk are bilingual - speaking English. Overall all was well for the one day stay.

GGuest UserThe place is easy to find. I looked for several e-sports hotels nearby and finally chose this one. Parking is convenient and clean. Most importantly, it is very cost-effective. The room completely exceeded my expectations! ! ! Brothers who like quiet and high-configuration computers can come here, it is worth recommending! ! !

GGuest UserThe hotel was very clean, and all the products were branded, which made us feel very safe. We were even given a free upgrade to a twin room in Pingjiang. The view outside was stunning, perfect for taking photos. The room also had modern Chinese-style tables and chairs, and they provided free afternoon tea, so we didn't have to go outside to take photos.
They also had a wide selection of cheongsams; we each wore two. We didn't have to rent cheongsams specifically for our trip to Suzhou, which was great!

Outstanding
TTanshiyiNestled deep within Miaotang Alley, this boutique hotel features just 10 rooms. The architectural design, led by Liu Yichun, embodies the philosophy of 'Wu Wei' (non-action). In his own words, 'The garden itself is already beautiful, so the architecture becomes less important; the focus should primarily be on functionality.' This is evident in the soaring ceilings and abundant windows, which create an open and airy atmosphere.
The interior spaces, curated by Xie Ke and Zhi Hongxin, are guided by the concept of 'Wu Xing' (formlessness). This manifests first as a minimalist approach: beyond essential furniture, no superfluous decor is used, allowing objects to recede and creating a tranquil, expansive ambiance. Secondly, they embrace deliberate simplicity: furnishings are minimalist, old materials are repurposed with a warm, aged patina, and the complementary artwork is expressive, featuring subtle colors that flow seamlessly.
The overall aesthetic is best captured by the term 'Shuye' (tranquil wildness), a concept originating from Situ Kong of the Late Tang Dynasty, who wrote: 'If one finds genuine contentment, why bother with contrived action? If it is truly natural and uninhibited, that is how it is achieved.'
Compared to Yihe Songmaoju, Vanke Changyuan offers a more refined and serene atmosphere, though its service is slightly less attentive than Yihe's. Ultimately, each property has its distinct strengths.

OOlga LaThe location of the hotel was perfect for me, there is a metro station right across the street. The general impression was not bad but there were some minor flaws. My room was rather spacious but dark with a very small window under the ceiling. The interior is also a little dated. The walls definitely need a fresh coat of paint. And when I checked in there was a weird smell in the room, so I kept the window open all the time. The bathroom was super clean though and the bed really comfortable. The hotel is pretty quiet, at least I couldn't hear any noise from the neighboring rooms.

GGuest UserI booked this hotel last minute for a business trip, and it was a delightful surprise. First off, the room was spotless, the bedding was comfortable, and surprisingly, even the hairdryer was a Laifen. Free parking was also available for guests. The front desk staff were all exceptionally warm and professional. They'd always greet me when I entered or left the lobby, and proactively offered help whenever I was carrying heavy bags. The location was also superb, very close to all the main attractions. After a long day, it was wonderfully relaxing to go for an evening stroll by Wanjian Bridge and enjoy the breeze.

GGuest UserThe environment of the small yard is particularly quiet. The location is on Suzhou's Internet Red Street. There is a pier at the door to take a boat. It is also very convenient to go to Pingjiang Road. It is separated from Suzhou University by a wall. Before going, I made an appointment to take my children to visit Suzhou University.
