Hotels in Shiquan Street/Pan Gate Scenic Area, Suzhou

Location is great if you love living in an ancient castle, worth starting here for the experience and I love the environment. Service of staff was not pan Pacific level though. I've emailed and submitted enquiry on their hotel website but did not receive and response. Attitude of service staff was poor, bellboy's tone was near rude. I recommend staying just for the environment, don't expect good service standards.

The hotel boasts a fantastic location. UniPark is nearby, offering plenty of dining options. You can easily walk or take public transport directly to Shiquan Street for a pleasant city walk. Both bus stops and subway stations are conveniently close, and getting to Jinji Lake by metro is also very convenient. Suzhou University (Suda) is in the vicinity, making it a great option for families with high school-aged children. The hotel staff were incredibly warm and welcoming. They proactively called us beforehand to provide important travel tips. Any requests we had were promptly addressed. Upon check-out, they even thoughtfully prepared cooling patches for the children and provided complimentary drinking water.

We stayed at Artyzen Habitat Suzhou and overall, we were very pleased. The location is excellent — convenient for getting to major attractions. The interior design is absolutely stunning — modern, stylish, and tasteful. The rooms are spacious, clean, and well-equipped with everything you might need. Breakfast was also a highlight — delicious, varied, and made with quality ingredients. However, unfortunately, the service was a major letdown. For a hotel positioned as 5-star, the service was, frankly, far below expectations — even by 3-star standards, it would be considered poor. When we arrived, no one greeted me at the entrance, and no help was offered with my luggage — I had to pull a heavy suitcase out of the taxi myself. Things got even more surprising: I had to walk around the hotel looking for staff to check in, because at 9 PM there was no one at the reception desk. At check-out, the same story repeated itself — no assistance with luggage, no farewell. The hotel is genuinely beautiful and comfortable, but the level of service does not match the advertised standard. I hope management takes note of this, because the hotel truly has great potential.

Before my stay, I was quite concerned about potential noise, given its location right above Guanqian Street. However, once checked in, it was completely quiet – absolutely no noise at all, so there was no need to worry! Everything from the service, ambiance, to the cleanliness earned a five-star rating. Getting to various attractions by taxi was very convenient, and there are plenty of delicious food options nearby. A special shout-out to the front desk staff; the young ladies and gentlemen were incredibly friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this place!

The room was excellent, and the bedding was spotless. For an established star hotel of its age, the carpets were surprisingly well-maintained and didn't feel dirty at all. While weekend rates were a bit higher, I was very satisfied overall. My only slight complaint was the outdated shower stall; it lacked an overhead rain shower, which made me feel it wasn't as hygienic as it could be. Luckily, the bathtub had a functioning overhead shower, allowing me to bathe, though for someone very particular about hygiene, this setup might be a bit uncomfortable. Lastly, front desk staff member Xiao Xie was incredibly helpful, and the breakfast service was also excellent. Thank you.

The hotel is only 40-50 meters from the subway station No. 2. It is a hotel with a strong cultural atmosphere, clean facilities, good front desk service, and free souvenirs when checking out. It is recommended to order only Aozao noodles for meals on the second floor. Other stir-fried dishes are not recommended, especially red willow mutton skewers. The 38 three skewers are like the messy skewers fried by the street stalls. I threw them all away after taking a bite.

Suzhou is beautiful, and our visit was absolutely worthwhile. My entire family was particularly impressed with my hotel choice. A special thank you goes to the young lady at the front desk who helped me check in on the afternoon of August 20th, for upgrading us to a suite. Our child was absolutely thrilled with it! Housekeeping was also incredibly attentive; when bringing us slippers, they noticed the bottled water on the table was finished and promptly brought us a few more bottles. This kind of detail-oriented and proactive service clearly shows a lot of effort put into staff training. Upon check-out, they even gave us a lovely souvenir: some adorable small candies that are a local specialty. We'd love to visit again if we have the chance, and we wish you all continued success.

I had an absolutely wonderful experience at this hotel. From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel welcomed and cared for. The check-in process was smooth and efficient, and my room was spotless and spacious. The location couldn’t be better — it’s just a short walk from the metro station, which made it really easy to get around the city. Despite being so close to public transport, the area was peaceful and quiet at night. The bed was incredibly comfortable. The housekeeping team did an excellent job maintaining cleanliness throughout my stay. I’m very satisfied with my experience and would strongly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Suzhou.

Room was in poor condition, the rug was spilled and dirty, bedsheets had stains. The bathroom has no ventilation to let the floor dry. The bathtub was black from scratches and stains. In 4 star hotels in other cities there are better kept rooms for half the price. Staff only speaks Chinese.

Awesome! Everything was perfect in my stay with my family. I arrived in the evening and was looking for dining options only to realise they serve dinner in the hotel so it was convenient. However, they mostly had sea food options so you can talk to the waitress to advise on other options available. It's also close to shopping malls where you can get restaurants. Checking in was fast and they only required to copy my passport together with my family's and voila! The room was spacious enough and they provided toiletries for occupants. You can be provided with an extra key in case you need. The hotel has a nice theme park indoors for kids, quite convenient for families and also have a swimming pool. They also have a luggage storage service and the front desk are bilingual - speaking English. Overall all was well for the one day stay.
