This is the second time we have visited Rhino Ridge and once again it was phenomenal! From the setting to the staff to the food everything was exceptional. I will be back in two years time and I can’t wait to visit again. Our guide was Tobeka and she went above and beyond to give us an incredible experience. We also loved the game walk we did with NuNu. All the staff are exceptionally well trained and very professional.

This place is absolutely wonderful! The guides are so knowledgeable and helpful. The staff are some of the kindest people I’ve ever had the pleasure of interacting with. The food is fantastic. And the wildlife, spectacular!

Outstanding lodge that is very high end. Staff go out of their way to make sure you have a pleasant stay. My son was ill and they went to deliver his dinner in person! Enjoyed a facial and a tub soak in the villa. The walking tour was outstanding. The safari drives were fancy and evening included wine and cocktails. Saw the big 5 and lots of close encounters with hyenas, elephants and rhinos. The food was so delicious and they accommodated multiple food preferences in our tour group.

Nothing that I write can ever describe the luxury, the expertise of the guides and the truly wonderful experience that our three night stay here gave us as a three generation family. Exceptional views from our windows and balconies each morning. Great game drives with knowledgeable and empathetic guides. An excellent individual bush walk, again with a knowledgeable guide. And to top it all first class catering and magnificently friendly service throughout. We saw lions, elephants, rhinoceros, water buffalo, zebra, warthogs, giraffes and zebra as well as countless types of deer/antelopes. In many cases we were so close that we could have reached out and touched them had it been the correct thing to do. On top of that we saw some amazing bird life and sat in the open just listening to the sound of the birds calling each other. A truly magnificent experience which we will never forget.

Rhino Ridge Safari Lodge leaves nothing to be desired. It is located in the Hluhluwe Wild Reserve in a stunningly beautiful area. The accommodation is luxurious, food and service excellent. The morning and afternoon safaris are conducted by experienced rangers who know their stuff and are good communicators. We saw 4 out of the big five and lots of other wild animals. If you are set on cats, Hluhluwe is perhaps not the ideal place, but I would recommend Hluhluwe and Rhino Ridge Safari Lodge anyway and without reservation!

We were really spoiled at Rhino Ridge Lodge! The drive from the gate takes an hour with spotting of rhino's, elephants and more. After a steep climb, we were welcomed by the friendly staff and either a magnificent view over the valley. A sumptuous lunch followed by a safari drive with more animal encounters. The villa's are large and luxurious and staff professional and friendly. We would love to come back!

Superb place open to nature but still with sophisticated surroundings. Game drives were incredible and our guide Liberty was genius. We enjoyed the food, the pool and the time to relax and wonder at nature. Staff were kind and attentive and the other guests were from all over the world.

If you give it more than 5 everybody would ! What a truly wonderful and life changing three days for me and my wife ! Walking up to a family of sleeping white rhinos in the bush, how often do you get to do that in a lifetime ? Watching wild game with a fantastic guide whilst getting your steps in Going out at the crack of dawn on wonderful safari drives with fantastic game spotters, we only missed out on a Leopard on our trip but hey ho, being fronted up by a young bull elephant more than made up for it. The Lodge is 5 star, so are the staff, accommodation is wonderful and there is nothing you want for. They over feed you with wonderful food and you will put weight on Quite simply we had the most wonderful of times, until we were about to exit the park. At the main gate security asked us for our documentation including the docs we entered the park with, he also made a search of our vehicle, which was fine and totally acceptable. However, the security member then asked my wife if she had anything for him ? When I questioned what he meant, he made it clear he wanted money. As tourists in a foreign country we did not want any trouble with a security official, we felt extremely intimidated and as a result I gave him a 100 rand. This event happened at 11.36 am on the 23rd of Jan 2025. I put these details in because something needs to be done about this individual. He has totally soured our feelings on visiting Rhino Ridge and we do not want anyone else to suffer what we did. It’s not the money, it’s the fact that he felt entitled to do that to us in a position of authority, bloody awful behaviour for a person in a position of trust.

My husband and I have just spent three nights here, enjoying our stay very much indeed. The lodge has a stunning position right on a ridge, and the views are amazing. Seeing giraffe away below us eating their lunch whilst we had ours was a truly lovely experience! The lodge is very modern and the rooms are excellent. We stayed in one of the safari rooms, and they are really very nice indeed. The bed is large, the bathroom well equipped (and you can open the door next to the shower if you want that outdoor shower feel), the veranda a good enough size for two to sit comfortably. Tea and coffee are replenished daily, as is drinking water. The communal areas are very pleasant indeed, with most of our meals being taken outdoors on the covered terrace area. The breakfasts were wonderful after an early morning game drive! Lunches were equally good, but I have to admit that we didn’t enjoy the dinners as much, particularly the main courses. Two game drives per day (early morning and late afternoon) were included in the package, and these were very good overall; over the course of our five drives we saw 4 of the big 5 as well as African wild dogs, a hyena and of course many of the more common animals. But sightings are definitely not guaranteed (for example, we saw nothing particularly significant on our final drive). We also opted for the late morning cultural visit to the village near the lodge, to which it has very strong links. This was very interesting and we didn’t feel like we were peering at people’s lives like being in a show, which I had feared. Women can always find common problems across their lives, anyway! If you want a really personal touch, you may find that this lodge, being slightly larger (22 rooms and not family-owned) doesn’t provide that; it did feel a bit more like a hotel ambience-wise than other lodges we have stayed in on our trip. But I would still recommend it!

Are there six stars ? Simply EVERYTHING about this place is simply amazing. This starts with the people-starting with the driver who met me at the airport , the manager who received us all as we arrived , through the amazing Rangers who breathed excitement and enthusiasm as we raced to hunt wild animals to the beautiful support staff, who not only looked after us so well but also treated us to a breathtaking Zulu dance and song for one guest‘s birthday. It includes the location (magical), the accommodation (private, luxurious and delightful) and of course the wildlife. I recorded sightings (mostly within metres) of 21 different species from solitary lions through families of elephants to herds of buffalo, hunted down by the amazing bush Rangers. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. It is no hyperbole for me to say that it touched my soul many levels, from the privilege of feeling brushed by the noble Zulu culture , to this spiritual feeling of proximity to the incredible wildlife. I believe it has become a life changing experience for me. Gia bonga Rhino Ridge, sala kahle and see you again soon.

This is a must place to visit! It is an incredible location with outstanding views and services! I can only rave about the food / staff / and guides! We would return in a heartbeat.

WOW what a special place! The lodge itself is set in idyllic location overlooking an expansive valley and a small watering hole which is visible from the dining and pool areas. The food was outstanding with delicious options, traditional influence and extensive wine list. We brought along our foodie friends from Singapore and they too were very impressed. Our room was spacious and gorgeous with a view from bathroom. A very great value for money. Our guide Liberty made every day exciting and enjoyable and we saw a ton of wildlife. He is very knowledgeable and really cared about our enjoyment. The park itself was lush and green and coming in December there were a lot of baby animals to see. The highlight though was the service. The staff of Rhino Ridge are what make the place incomparable. Every detail was a pleasant surprise from the hot towels and amarula hot chocolate after a chilly drive to the packed breakfast on our last day. We would give them 6 stars if we could. Absolutely recommend!

Brilliant staff and facilities with excellent food and cocktails. Even booked a bush walk which we came close to elephant and a pair of rhinos. Spa and pool facilities where magical.

Rhino Ridge is a stunning lodge set high up so you have the most amazing views, we were lucky enough to see plenty of Rhino, giraffe, zebra, wild dogs, baboons, only 2 elephant though which was disappointing, but the bush was very thick so it made it difficult to find them. the staff and rangers are excellent, and the food is amazing too. we really enjoyed our stay there.
