GGuest UserStandout was the unique rooms which are extremely private, spacious and beautifully designed along the lagoon. Personally I didn’t quite understand the ‘Butler’ concept and found some of the comms style a bit frustrating. The other standout was the ‘Day of the dead’ celebrations. The property was decorated beautifully and very well organised. The opportunity to also participate was great as we felt emerged in the festivities. It would have been nice if the dinner package also included the face painting. More broadly the property is set within mayakoba so you can explore the grounds including the other hotels and it was fun to explore on the bikes. The only other thing to be aware off is also this is the more premium / exclusive hotel in mayakoba it’s still geared towards families or at least there where quite a few kids around. Finally don’t have high expectations of the beach it’s tiny and there isn’t much space. If you want high end luxury visit Maroma.

AAnonymous UserThis is a group of hotels. There are three or four hotels combined. Some are suitable for families, and some are only open to adults. The hotel is very large and needs to take a sightseeing bus to go back and forth to various places. The facilities can be used with each other, and the activities are very rich. There is a housekeeper downstairs in each building to take care of all the needs of the customers in this building! The service was excellent! After 8:00 every morning, the butler will arrange the whole day's activities schedule, restaurant opening hours and various concerts, and send all the activity time to everyone, which is very considerate! There are plenty of activities every day! There are twenty different restaurants in the hotel group to choose from, all inclusive, very thoughtful! There are also many activities every night, music performances, various parties! Arrangements around the clock! The coastline is also very long, and there are also inland lakes crisscrossing the interior. The scenery is very good! Great for a family vacation!

GGuest UserGreat Stay at Riu Playacar We enjoyed our stay at this clean, well-organized resort with spacious, quiet rooms (ours had no balcony, but it was fine). The minibar was a nice touch, and the bathroom was spotless. Highlights: ✔ Food variety – Multiple à-la-carte restaurants (dinner reservations not needed) and buffets with good lunch/breakfast options. ✔beach – Plenty of sunbeds but no umberalla so bring your sunscreen, though pools get crowded les sunbeds. ✔ Access to sister hotels – Party lovers can visit Riu Tequila’s club nearby. ✔ Convenient location – Mini-market across the street, and Playa del Carmen (5th Ave) is just a 150-peso taxi ride away. ✔ Easy airport transfer – ADO bus (250 pesos/person, 45-min ride + 5-min taxi 150 pesos next to ado turism station). Minor drawbacks: ✖ No elevators – Tough for guests with mobility issues. ✖ Entertainment hiccups – The host sometimes forgot to switch back to English after Spanish announcements. Perfect for: Travelers who want good value, variety, and proximity to Playa’s nightlife.

GGuest UserI stayed here for 3 nights in June. The sea was full of weeds, probably because of the rainy season, so I couldn't go in, but there weren't too many people and I was able to relax by the pool. It's also close to Quinta Avenida, so you can enjoy a stroll around the town in between your hotel life. There are buffets, 3 dinner restaurants, a cafe and a pool bar, and activities such as morning yoga and shows, so I had a lot to enjoy. I booked an ocean view room, but I could barely see the sea, so if you want to see the sea from your room, it might be better to book a seafront room.

GGuest UserPros - the staff is all wonderful. The resort has been recently renovated so it’s in relatively good condition.  Cons - the food isn’t great… I would call it mediocre verging on poor. The a la carte restaurants weren’t great either and I would call the booking system/insane red tape process to visit the a la carte restaurants off putting, verging on insane.  I probably won’t be back for the above stated reasons, but I must reiterate that all of the service staff were truly lovely and no question the highlight of the trip.

NNikkilaoshiLocation is great. Checkin was easy. Rooms are spacious with a little kitchenette (stove cooktop & microwave) but there’s no dishes or utensils to cook. Decent coffee/tea setup. Nice robes. Medium sized fridge with freezer section. City view rooms do not have balconies and face street with view of ice cream shop and laundromat. Pool is warm & pool towels available. 1 block from the busy street and 2 blocks from beach. There’s a bar with a pool table, foosball, and darts where happy hour was offered for an hour daily. BREAKFAST WAS NOT WORTH WAKING EARLY FOR. Very limited options and was cold. Also after checking our reservation at the breakfast restaurant they were insisting we pay for it when we paid for it with the reservation. Also felt the breakfast staff were a bit rude when I tried asking for details on the station others were lining up for reminding me of things that were included or not.

NNikkilaoshiFirstly El Beso is simply 1 building within the larger Ocean Rivera resort. Meaning only your building is Adults Only. Our Swim up room was lovely. We tried almost all if not all of the 10 restaurants and we had no complaints the food was good. Maybe not always amazing but never terrible. There’s like 3/4 different brands or levels of service within the larger resort. El Beso seems to be 1 level from the top which is Privilege we switched for an extra night & the mini bar for privilege was much better as well as having the butler service and priority restaurant bookings when they were all booked. There’s also a special restaurant only for privilege that was great but none of the restaurants were extremely crowded. There’s an app or webpage that works like an app with all of the resort info and you can book reservations there. There’s also lots of entertainment nightly. It’s definitely a place to go and stay there’s no need to venture outside of the resort there’s so many things to do schedules are packed for all of the different areas & a bowling alley and theater. There is not much near by the tourist area is maybe 20 mins away by car down the beach.

GGuest UserIt is located in the most central location in the Praya del Carmen area. The beach is close, the bus is close, and the supermarket is close. If you are planning to travel to this area. There is no reason not to choose this hostel. step. I like to read books quietly. This hotel is not suitable for people with insomnia. The hotel is beautiful. The inner rooms are relatively quiet.

GGuest UserThe environment and facilities are complete. Although it can be seen that it is a certain age, the management and operation are still relatively complete. Although there are many restaurants and activities, they all need to be booked in advance, so everyone should be prepared in advance and book the place you like as soon as you arrive, otherwise it will be a pity. You can basically visit one place a day, all of which are very good and fun. The overall feeling is still good
