"Subject: Request for Room Change Delay – Service Improvement and Compensation Request Dear Westin Qingdao Team, I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the room change request process I experienced today. I initially requested a room change for a better view, and despite waiting for over an hour, I did not receive any proper response or resolution. When I first arrived at my room, I found that one side of the view was almost entirely blocked by the neighboring building, which was not what I expected. I called the front desk to request a room change, but after 20 minutes with no response, I called again. I was told the team was checking on it. After waiting another 10 minutes without any follow-up, I called once more. The staff seemed to have difficulty communicating in English and repeated that they were still checking. Eventually, I was told that a room on the 16th floor might be available, and someone would come to show it to me. However, no one came. I waited again, then called once more about 10 minutes later, only to be told that the front desk was still confirming and that the new room would not be ready for another 30 minutes. At this point, I had already wasted nearly an hour of my time in Qingdao without any clarity on whether I could even change rooms. As a guest who chose your esteemed hotel for its reputation for excellent service, this experience has been highly disappointing. The lack of communication and inefficient handling of a simple request does not meet the standard expected from the Westin brand. I kindly request a formal explanation of this situation and an appropriate form of compensation for the inconvenience I experienced. I hope this matter will be addressed seriously to ensure a better guest experience going forward. Thank you for your attention, and I look forward to your prompt response. "The stay at intercontinental in Qingdao was amazing. Fairy helped us check in and made sure we had the best stay. We had 2 rooms and both were upgraded to rooms with balcony, seaview and hottub on the balcony. It made our trip very special. The view from the balcony was fantastic, and really worth it! Breakfast had a large selection of western and Chinese breakfast. Overall a great stay with great services!"

"Staying here for a night with a deluxe room at 20th.floor where there's a slight corner sea view. love it!. The only downside is the wooden floor is a bit dusty. food served for the celebrity buffet and morning breakfast are delicious and lots of varieties. Overall is a pleasant stay at MGM Qingdao. will definitely be my priority choice for next visit to Qingdao."

"The location of this hotel might be convenient for business travelers, but it’s not ideal for tourists. I found myself having to take taxis everywhere, though fortunately, they’re inexpensive in Qingdao. The rooms are spacious and generally clean, with a comfortable bed, but the bathroom felt a bit outdated. Breakfast was just average, nothing to get excited about. Although the hotel is listed as 5 stars, it felt more like a 4-star experience. All the rooms face the streets, which can be noisy – I had to switch rooms because of this. However, my second room was a bit quieter. The staff were all very kind, especially the cleaning ladies who were always smiling and helpful. Overall, it wasn’t a bad stay, but I probably wouldn’t choose this"

"I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. It's located on the premises of the Ancient Town which makes it really convenient to get around but still it's very tranquil and quiet. The stuff is helpful and speaks English well. The buffet on Froday and Saturday evenings is nice and affordable, and I especially liked the atmosphere of the restaurant. I've also had a full body massage at the hotel SPA and it was amazing. There's traditional Chinese clothing available for a photoshoot, too. All in all, it's a great choice for a weekend away."

"Book this hotel for my Mom’s birthday. Although check in date was wrong due to hotel’s booking system, hotel’s customer service fixed the booking issue very soon. Birthday day cake and welcome fruit had been prepared before get in the room. Staff looked after my parents very well. View is unbeatable. Most beautiful site can be seen from room. Especially night view of Wusi square is unforgettable. Dinner buffet has too many things to taste. Breakfast is also very good. My parent has a wonderful trip in this 6 star hotel. I would book in when I visit Qingdao for myself next time."

"I came to Qingdao on a business trip and chose this hotel. It is a little far from the city, but it is very convenient to the Expo Park. The hotel experience is great. The room is large, the bedding is comfortable, especially the pillows for sleeping, which are so comfortable. The hotel's breakfast is very good, with many varieties, and both Chinese and Western food are delicious. I can't eat them all. The hotel's service is commendable. Every day, a piece of fruit is delivered to the room, 2 bottles of drinks (Laoshan Coke), 2 bottles of mineral water, and Chinese medicine foot bath is also provided, which is very considerate. I will definitely stay here again next time."

"Hans was very helpful to us during check in when we asked for a room with better view. Give this guy a credit for his hard work. It made us feel welcomed and gave us good mood the whole time we spend in the hotel. The room is great. Right next to olympic sailing center. The breakfast was satisfactory. The housekeeper on 4th floor was very kind during our stay. Room 418 has great view. They have iron in the room. Awesome! Overall experience is excellent! Will come again next time!"
