Popular Siena 4-star Hotels

It was a wonderful stay. Pros: * The rooms are very spacious and have beautiful views * Breakfast was good, plenty of options but till 10am on weekdays. And they really start taking away all the food at 10am. * Right in the center of the city, you can walk anywhere * They keep your suitcases after checkout. I asked them if I can come back for them later that day, and they were nice and kept them. Cons *No coffee machine in room. They do have a fridge though. *No iron in room but they do have an ironing room *No parking, but down the street there is free parking, a 8 min walk. I easily found a parking at 10.30pm

We were lucky to spend three nights at the Hotel Athena on our recent visit to Siena. Our room was comfortably large, nicely furnished, with a very comfortable bed with nice linens. The outdoor terrace and bar opened every evening at 5 (this is contingent on good weather, which we were fortunate to have); it's a lovely place to have a drink and enjoy the lovely view of the countryside and the sunset. Breakfast was included in our rate; the selection of breakfast items was good, with freshly baked pastries, scrambled eggs, a variety of meats, cheeses, and fruits, plus cereal and yoghurt. Guests were expected to make their own coffee from the espresso/coffee machine. The staff was helpful throughout; the receptionists were gracious, the bartender very professional. The historic center of Siena is a fairly easy 15-minute walk from the hotel (prepare for some hills along the way). The nearest restaurants are about 8-10 minutes away by foot; we didn't try the hotel dining room except for breakfast. We'll certainly consider the Hotel Athena again when next we're in Siena; it's convenient to the center of town, and really nicely appointed.

Very good hotel, beyond the original understanding of Italian hotels, the room layout and facilities are similar to those in China. It is said that most domestic guests who come for study, exchange and business also choose to stay here. It is just a little far from the old town of Siena, which is not a problem if you drive here.

Lovely modern hotel on the outskirts of Sienna . The restaurant and food service were good and the whole place was clean and fresh .Local buses stop right outside the hotel too .Ample parking too .Many thanks to all the hard working staff who made our three night stay a pleasure .

When I took the room, I said that I didn't find the order, and I took a long time to get the room. Driving is ok, parking is free and the room is too old. No quilt. Only one can be covered like a sheet. Asked the waiter to give the quilt, and gave two very shabby blankets. . . About 2 kilometers from the city, on the top of the mountain. The price is very poor

My wife and I spent three nights here on our honeymoon trip to Italy. The villa is very nice, well-kept, clean and not too far from Siena and other small towns in Tuscany. Our room was spacious and clean, the bathroom especially was well-appointed. We truly enjoyed sitting in the lounge having aperitif and cocktails each night, and one night had a yummy dinner in the on-site restaurant. What I really want to highlight is the hotel's staff. In particular, Elena, who checked us in and was at the front desk our first two days, was absolutely wonderful. From showing us a map and marking parking and sites in Siena, to calling cabs for us (about 15 euro to Siena) but she truly went above and beyond finding a few activities for us to do on one of our days there. She researched and booked a private horseback ride which was great but what was OUTSTANDING was the private cheese tasting she arranged for us at Podere S. Anna Organic Caseificio Company based in Radi. The breakfast was very nice, and bacon and scrambled eggs are included with no extra charge if you ask for them. The rest of the staff was also excellent, we saw the same people each day and they all made us feel at home at Villa Scacciapensieri.

Loved our stay here. A special thank-you to Sonia and Daniela for making it great! We loved the room (Le Grottesche) with its loft and tall frescoed ceilings. The bathroom was a good size and the shower was very functional. Breakfast offered good choices (except cappuccino, which was a bit watery) and was served in a beautiful drawing room. During our stay I enjoyed learning about the history of the building and of the Borghesi family, which left Siena for Rome long ago but had many prominent members, including a pope and a nobleman who became Napoleon’s brother-in-law. In a church in a different part of town I happened to notice their coat of arms on some supports, which was pretty cool. Keep in mind that although the units have air conditioning, it must be enabled by management, and we were not able to use it in October although the weather was warm and rainy. My spouse had a bit of trouble sleeping at night due to this.

We had a great stay at the Villa Del Sole Siena. The hotel is gorgeous and feels very serene. Our room was a superior room it was lovely and so light and airy with a great view of Siena from the window. The hotels terrace has a fantastic view over looking both the Tuscany hills and Siena which we took full advantage of! Staff were lovely and very helpful. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend. I highly recommend this small charming hotel when visiting Siena. It has a great location with a breathtaking view of Siena from the breakfast terrance. They serve a wonderful breakfast with a good variety to choose from. There's a lovely public living room where you can relax and enjoy the view. The staff is very attentive, friendly, and helpful. The rooms are small, but comfortable and beautifully decorated with antiques. All have private baths. If I have the chance to visit Siena again I definitely will stay here!

We stayed at the Certosa with a group of friends, and we loved this hotel. It is a unique property, previously being a monastery, with beautiful grounds and pool area. The rooms are spacious, and clean, but not modern luxury. The breakfast is wonderful. The menu on the restaurant is quite progressive and high end, but they also made us dishes that we requested if there was nothing to suit us. I loved the location, being a little outside of Siena, as it provided a nice calm reprieve, and you are right in the hills of Tuscany. I was unsure if it was walkable to Siena, and found that it was an easy 15 minute walk into Siena, that we took each day during daylight. We also had no issues calling cabs, or having cabs drop us off at the hotel in the evening hours, as the roads are too narrow to walk on safely after dark. There are limited hotels with pools in the area, which is why we chose this hotel. But, the location, and overall feel of the hotel were even better than I hoped. Siena was a highlight of the trip to Italy, which included Rome, Florence, Pisa and Cinque Terra. And, if you are going to visit, I would highly recommend staying here. We would go back in a heartbeat.
