The hotel is very small but in a great location, walking distance to the old village. However, don't expect a lot from the hotel, apart from the onsen, there are nothing much to do. Our room has no toilets or showers, you will have to go outside to do all your business. No slippers are provided so bring your own if you don't want to be barefeet.  Food was not bad and with a lot of small dishes. I found a hair in my dessert at the dinner which I was quite surprise for Japan standard.  Anyway I think I booked too latest min so ran out of options and had to pay a bit more than usual.

Hotel is next to the bus stop. Very nice. But be prepared that it does not provide slippers and no toilets in the room

A convenient walk away from the bus stop! The place was very clean and peaceful, staff were very friendly as well. I went to the onsen at night and it wasn't crowded at all as most day trippers would have already left.

1) location is the best, very near to the station 2) view at the restaurant is amazing, there’s a river flow looking out the window and super serene when it was snowing 3) onsen is best as it allows everyone to use at any time of the day or night 4) breakfast and dinner are super yummy and delicious 5) front desk service is friendly, attentive and can speak English 6) they even give you a complimentary coffee 7) value for money

The room is very spacious and the meals were also great both in quantity and quality. But I think what’s best was the bath as there was an outdoor one, and the front counter sells glass bottles of fresh Hida milk which are perfect as an after-bath drink. Staff knows some English so knowing some basic Japanese helps

Only realised the hotel has a curfew (10pm), so couldn't hangout late. Other than that, enjoyed the stay

Very Good

The hotel is near bus station. Hotel onsen is nice. Dinner is pretty good, but breakfast is mostly pickled vegetables and rice, which is very average. Biggest downside is no private bathroom. The whole hotel, only the biggest room has the  private bathroom, other smaller rooms have no private bathroom. I woke up at 4 am and had to go to bathroom on the first floor, which felt pretty creepy. Anyway, if you have kids or old people who need to pee often, I won’t recommend it. And no elevator in hotel either. Good luck carry suitcase upstairs .

Absolutely amazing and super close to the main bus stop. All staff are really friendly and so welcoming with warmth. Food is out of this world, both breakfast and dinner! Cannot recommend enough of this accommodation!!

The food was good, and the breakfast and dinner packages were plentiful, with plenty of Japanese pickles. They were quite salty, but they were delicate and beautiful, giving me a rural experience. The room design was generally disappointing if you're looking for authentic country or traditional style, but it was clean, the onsen was large, and the view from the window was nice.

The best thing about staying at this ryokan is the delicious breakfast and dinner. They're both delicious and exquisite. The staff were very friendly and attentive, giving me a very comfortable feeling. The only inconvenience was the lack of private bathrooms; everyone had to use the shared restrooms, which was a bit unusual. However, the public restrooms were clean and completely odorless. The hot springs don't provide facial oil, combs, or anything like that; you need to bring your own. The most frustrating thing is that the hot springs are open to the entire Gassho Village and aren't privately owned by the guesthouse. I remember when I was out for a walk that evening, nearly 20-30 European and American tour groups from other hotels arrived, clamoring for a bath, which was quite unpleasant. The hot springs are also very small and can't accommodate so many people.

Everything is good, except that there is no separate bathroom. The hot spring is very comfortable. In the morning, I hiked to the observation deck to see the whole area of Shirakawa Village. The road is opposite the hotel, and the express bus station is also opposite, less than five minutes away. If you stay overnight when traveling to Shirakawa Village, this is a good choice.

The location is very good, the only hot spring hotel in Shirakawa Village. The hotel is very old, and the room I booked should have been renovated and is the best in the village, but compared with the price of 3,400 yuan, the cost performance is extremely low, perhaps because things are scarce and expensive during the snow season. Apart from the location, I don't recommend it overall
