The outside of the hotel building is under renovation and the front door is in a small alley so may require some extra effort to find the entrance. The room is relatively spacious with a microwave oven and a medium sized fridge. The beds are comfortable. Location is good, with shops and small food stalls in the neighbourhood.
I asked the front desk staff for extra pillows because there were four of us but was told there was none, which is unbelievable and disappointing. Like many other public places in Shanghai, second-hand smoke is very frequently found and can be really disturbing - not entirely the fault of the hotel though.

Facilities: Very complete, with a refrigerator, a washing machine, and a microwave, which was a pleasant surprise, but there were raw dumplings and buns in the microwave, which instantly broke my heart. I thought the floor was clean, but there were a lot of black unknown objects. The door lock didn't feel very safe. It would be great if there was a chain. The door gap was very large, which made people feel uneasy. The peephole couldn't be covered, and it was a bit old.
But it looks relatively good, more comfortable than many chain stores in Shanghai (such as some), and has a microwave, which is very convenient, so I still give it a 4.5.

The room is small but clean. The facilities are a bit old. Takeaway can be delivered directly to the room. I took an exam nearby and it was nice to have a place to rest.
