Hongqiao State Guest House Shanghai is an excellent and very beautiful Hotel, with a wonderful Garden around. Rooms are nice, a little and very clean. Staff is very Polite and service minded. Breakfast is well assorted both for Asian Style but also for Western Style Breakfast. The Hotel is very close to Line 10 Shuicheng Road EXIT. If you go by Metro. Beautiful hotel. My parents stayed with me this time. staff were super friendly. I have always chosen this hotel when i come to shanghai. It feels comfort able. And it is also quiet in environment. Strongly recommend this hotel.

Located in a green and lush area, which used to had a great shopping mall. A bit old school and not up to date. Rooms smell a bit, and off everything. I still enjoyed the lush garden and surrounding but not for everyone.

I really liked my stay at this hotel. It feels almost like a big garden. There are many separate buildings with some looking like mansions. The business standard rooms in the main building are comfortable though a little small. The breakfast food is very good, if not top notch. The gym is located in a separate building 5 min by walk from the main building. The hotel’s restaurant serves high quality Chinese cuisine and wedding parties. I high recommend it to anyone traveling in and out of Hongqiao airport or railway station.

Great place and invirments

The location is not far from Hongqiao Airport. It is an old five-star hotel. I booked a basic room type, but later I felt that the sound insulation was not good, so I bought a group purchase of Ctrip's preferential package to upgrade the room type but without breakfast. The total price is the same as booking a basic room type alone. I personally feel that a good rest is more important, so Ctrip's package is quite suitable. The hotel yard is a small garden, and it is very good to get up early and take a walk.

The location of the hotel is about 15 minutes by taxi from Hongqiao Airport, and it takes an hour to get to Pudong Airport by taxi. The service attitude of the staff of the Guest House is very good. When we arrived, a staff member immediately opened the car door and took the car to check in. The check-in was prepared very quickly. The staff immediately guided us to the room on the battery car, which was very smooth. The battery car was a closed new model, better than the West Lake State Guesthouse. The wind there made my head hurt, and the curtains were not tightly covered in winter. The room was a business building king room, which I liked very much. Room 01 has double-sided windows at the end. I saw that other twin rooms have flower wall cloths, but this one has plain walls, red sofas and velvet curtains. The style is elegant and beautiful. The room area is larger than the marked area, the environment is quiet, the bedding and towels are of good quality, and the bathrobe is clean. The most important thing is that there is no smoke or any odor in the room, and I slept well. There are not many types of breakfast but it is worth recommending. The staff responded promptly. The boiled eggs were cooked just right. They are the best quality and cooked eggs I have ever eaten. Many VIP hotels have failed to make boiled eggs. The Yingbin Hotel got full marks. There are also freshly fried dumplings. Overall, it is a 5-star hotel. The only problem is that the water volume in the shower is not big enough. I will stay here again.

The room facilities are relatively old. The female waiter at the front desk of Building 6 who was on duty at 14:00 on New Year's Eve did not upgrade me at first. It was obvious that she was an old hand who wanted to fool me. When booking the hotel, I noted on Ctrip that the high floor facing Nanyang was quiet, but I was given a room on the second floor of Building 6 (old, broken and small). The bathroom smelled bad (this room was said to be given as a gift when booking the New Year's Eve dinner for the group). I booked the hotel separately and paid extra for breakfast and the New Year's Eve buffet, and the total cost of the three items was not low); when I was having the New Year's Eve buffet later, the handsome manager of the restaurant paid a return visit (the pigeon and drunken crab were inedible) and helped negotiate with the male manager of Building 7 to upgrade me to the third floor of Building 7 (special thanks to these two managers here for their five-star service). The room and service of Building 7 can be considered five-star; overall, it is quite different from Xijiao Hotel (of course, the price of Xijiao is much higher than this; the catering is too average, the New Year's Eve dinner buffet is very poor, the ingredients are bad, not the chefs, the food procurement staff should supervise well, which affects the reputation of the State Guesthouse; Finally, I would like to praise the restaurant Parick WEI The breakfast waiter was very busy and had a strong sense of responsibility and a good attitude.
