Jinglai Select Hotel (Shanghai Railway Station) Reviews

I think this hotel is worth the little money you pay. Metro is only 5 minutes. Restaurants are right next door. Room is clean. Good bed and very good pillows. It smells like cigarettes (but most hotels in China do) and you hear the neighbours a little bit. I got more then my money’s worth!

My flight arrived at 2am and by the time I reached hotel was only 5am, reception allowed early check in as there's empty room. Really grateful. Cosy, there's a big TV. Location very close to mrt station (5-7min walk), the mrt station is also very close to CBD/central tourist attractions area.

The hotel is outdated. The towel is very used.

Very friendly staff! Not all of them speak English but they managed to help us either way. As for the place itself it’s undergoing renovations so it might look different soon. The room was okay with good air conditioning but the bathroom wasn’t the best. The shower door didn’t shut fully and it was just a little outdated. Fresh towels changed everyday for a plus. But for the price you can’t really complain. There are also washing machines available but we haven’t used them. Very close to a metro station with easy connection to the main sights.

The room is just right for 2 people and there is cleaning service everyday, location is quite near the train station and family mart as well. Well recommended!!

The room is just the right size and everything is good except that the water is a little blocked in the rain. The other feeling and experience are very good. The TV is super big!!! There are also many shops around

Actually, seeing that it opened 24 years ago, I thought it should be quite new and the photos looked pretty good. The check-in experience was really bad. When I used the bathroom, I found that the countertop was very dirty and there were false eyelashes left by the previous guest... As for the soundproofing, it can be said that there is no soundproofing at all. It was very noisy in the middle of the night. The loud laughter from the neighbors, the sound of entering passwords on the opposite side, the sound of closing doors, the sound of talking in the corridor, and the sound of washing next to me were all heard very clearly. I really had a mental breakdown at around 1 a.m.! After turning off the lights, the light leaked through the door gap, which made my sleep very bad.
