Hotels in Insadong / Bukchon, Seoul

This hotel has ”individual” temperature controls in each room. 2:00am we woke up warm and when I called downstairs they said, ”Guests were complaining about it's too cold.” What's wrong with this reason? Exactly! Why can't those cold people just turn OFF their AC's???? Then the next morning they gave me a different reason. The hotel wants to save $$$$$ by turning off the AC's for EVERYONE if the temp outside reaches a certain temperature. So those who know Korea, the air quality is not the greatest. SO...they will give you a fan which was really nice of them, but ***???!!! Then why the F are we paying money? Do NOT stay here because this hotel does not care about your comfort. This is another company in Korea that cares only about $$$. Your comfort is not really top priority. Stay someplace else if your comfort matters.

Pros: 1) Strategic location - within walking distance to ikseondong, Insadong, Gyeongbukgong, subway station (Jongno-3(sam)ga station which service 3 lines), etc. 2) Toilet - Japanese style bidet (a huge plus point on this as most hotels do not have it) 3) Flooring - Wooden (instead of carpet) 4) Service: Kudos to the front desk person, Min Cheol (Mitch) for his friendliness and going the extra mile for getting the digital luggage scale in time for us from other guests as we checked-out. 5) TV - Netflix is available! Cons: 1) Toilet - drainage system (it gets stuck sometimes causing flooding in the toilet) 2) TV - location where they installed the TV is not ideal, easily bumps into it when walking pass the bed 3) Lack of mirrors - only 1 half-length mirror available in the toilet (suggest to install a full-length mirror on the wardrobe door) Overall, everything is good. It’s my 3rd time in Seoul, it’s an affordable hotel with high price value . Will come back here if I visit Seoul again.

Hotel was easily accessible and near famous tourist spots, by both foot and train. Room for 2 was spectacularly clean and spacious, accommodating 2 large luggages. Staff were polite and friendly.

I loved the hotel, the service is very nice and the location is awesome, also the amenities you have really close the seoul tower, the bus is around the corner. The place is 20’minute by foot and the popular food market is also 20 minutes by foot. The room is very clean and the cleaning is also a good thing to mention, for a second trip to Seoul I would stay in this hotel. The only is that I wouldn’t pay again is the breakfast, I didn’t find so much option for the food, anyway that’s the only thing that I have to say I didn’t like but it’s not a big deal.

Hotel location is the best. Very near from Seoul station and Namsan tower. We were able to reach the station within 7 minutes (taxi) and within 10 minutes to Namsan tower. The hotel is very close to famous Gwangjang night market and the river stroll during night time was the best.

This hotel was incredible clean, modern and quiet. We had check in at 1 am and it was so fast. Stuff is so kind and always help us with everything. I asked them to call a taxi to the airport and also asked for umbrella sometimes. They can speak english as well as korean. Room is very clean and stuff did the cleaning everyday. The hotel located in very nice area, about 5 min to Insadong and 10-15 min to palaces (Chanddeok and Gyunbbok). We went by subway just 3-4 times, because everything is close and we didn’t need any transport. But you can go by bus as well, there is a bus station close to the hotel. We worried so much because it was our firs time in Korea, but everything was amazing in this hostel: safety, location, stuff, cleaning, room.

hotel is located up an alley but the best part is that its just beside ikeon dong where you can find authentic korea jiggae. solsot is also less than a min walk. its far from anguk station where the airport shuttle bus is. at night its dark on the street. hot bath at basement and washer (4000 won), dryer (4000 won) and detergent (1000 won) are fabulous, but note that note changing machine only dispense 500 wons instead of notes and coins. so go to reception counter to change bigger notes to 10,000 won so you dont end up with tons of 500 wons. water purifier located at level 10 and you need to ask, else counter staff wont tell you. save your shopping spree to Hongdae as Ikeon dong jewelry is 3x more expensive than Hongdae. didn't need to eat buffet at hotel because there's authentic korean soup stuffs at insadong (10min walk) which are open as early as 730am. wont recommend solo female traveller due to the dark alley and drinking street on a Fri night along the alley. multiple exit at the station with no elevator access and difficult to find hotel location if you exit wrongly. if you need washer and dryer, then this hotel is highly recommended. staff allow free early check in if i join accor free membership on the spot, i appreciate the early check in service. shower area very small.

I stayed here for two nights with my three mothers. We took the airport limousine bus #6011 and got off at Anguk-dong. Anguk Station, Jongno 3-ga, Jonggak and the subway station are all within walking distance, and it's also convenient to use the bus. The room was spacious and had two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen and a dining table, so we took out some midnight snacks. The main street of Insadong is 50 meters away. You can exchange money in Insadong without having to go to Myeongdong. After night shopping at Dongdaemun, it's a short bus ride to Jongno 3-ga. The shops are open even at 1am, so the road to the hotel is well lit.

Hotel is right behind metro station on Insadong street - a lot of restaurants and cafe in the area. Staff was helpful. Room clean up everyday. Free 12 hrs luggage storage after checkout. Would come back again.

The hotel was a self check-in one. The instructions were clear and easy. Thank god for luggage storage. My friend and I were absolutely in love with this room. It felt like a typical NYC room. The room was clean and the toiletries were great. The hair dryer was of good quality as well. It was spacious for 2 people and our luggage. They also have kettle and fridge. The location was great. The hotel is in a quiet and chill location. However, the restaurants and bars were at walking distance and that was very convenient. WILL DEFINITELY COME BACK.
