Let's start with the positives. The rooms at the hotel were undeniably great. They were spacious, well-designed, and offered a comfortable ambiance. I particularly appreciated the attention to detail in the room decor, making it a pleasant space to relax after a long day of exploring the area.
The hotel's breakfast selection was another highlight of my stay. There was a good variety of options, and the quality of the food was quite impressive. Starting my day with a satisfying breakfast definitely set a positive tone for my daily adventures.
Though the overall service at the hotel was just okay, there was one staff member who stood out and made a significant difference in my stay - Kitty. Kitty's exceptional assistance and attentiveness were truly commendable. She went above and beyond to ensure I had everything I needed and provided excellent recommendations for local attractions and dining options.
However, there were some glaring issues that affected my experience. First and foremost, the Wi-Fi connection was terrible. As a traveler, having reliable internet access is essential for staying connected and planning daily activities. Unfortunately, the unreliable Wi-Fi at the hotel made this difficult, and it was quite frustrating.
Additionally, the swimming pool was a letdown. Despite appearing beautiful in the pictures, it was actually dirty during my stay. I was looking forward to relaxing by the poolside, but the unclean water made it an unappealing option.
Furthermore, the location of the hotel was a significant drawback. It was far from most of the popular attractions and amenities, making it inconvenient and time-consuming to travel to places of interest. I found myself spending more time commuting than enjoying the destination itself.
On the culinary front, while there was a restaurant called ”China First,” the food was indeed excellent. However, I can't overlook the fact that it was expensive, and overall, the hotel felt overpriced for the amenities and services provided.

Atour light is a great hotel even though its not as big as other hotels. I like to praise the staff'for their positive, helpful attitude. I am satisfied with their service, especially a young man by the name of Yan Yee who goes beyond his duty to help with translation of english. Assist in booking our cab and assist especially with the mandarin address which we were clueless. Kudos to all the front line staff and ground staff who were very helpful even when they were busy. A young cheerful lady staff (did not get her name) was also very helpful too in helping us on our final day of checkout when we have difficulty with the didi booking App. We very much appreciated their fantastic service, the past few days of our stay here. Keep up the good job. Your management should be very proud to have such a great team. Our 4-nights stay here was made pleasant. We wish to thank the staff, senior staff & everyone for the service rendered. Our rooms are 1306 (me) & 1307 from 20-29th Nov 2024 and we are from Singapore. 👍🙏

Environment:
The hotel's design is very unique and full of a warm atmosphere. The room is spacious and bright, and decorated very cutely. The children were very excited as soon as they entered. The bedding is clean and tidy, which makes people feel at ease. The hotel also has a small garden where children can play and enjoy some fresh air. The surrounding environment is also very quiet, allowing us to have a good rest after a day of sightseeing.

The service attitude of the staff is simply great! They greeted us very warmly and check-in was quick. Seeing that we brought children with us, they specially prepared small gifts for the children, such as cartoon toothbrushes, small towels, etc., which was very thoughtful. During our stay, any problems were solved in a timely manner, which made people feel very warm.
Parent-child facilities: The hotel has taken great care in providing facilities for parents and children. There is a special children's play area with various toys and game facilities, where the children have a lot of fun. There is also a parent-child restaurant that provides a variety of children's food to make the children eat happily. Whether it is the location or the living environment, it is really good. Let me talk about the location first. It is very close to the old street of Qilou, the clock tower, the Yundong Library, and the Century Bridge. There is a car in the community and it is convenient to travel.
The community has complete facilities, there are several convenience stores and snack bars downstairs, and when I left today, I saw that the community had arrived at a new children's toy facility.
My son liked the room very much as soon as he entered it. He basically sat on the bay window and played. The home supplies prepared were very complete. It can be said that comfort is the biggest feeling these days.

The first time I stayed at Intercity Hotel Haikou, I was deeply impressed! The room was clean and bright, the bedding was soft and comfortable, and the hotel's care was evident in the details. The location was also very convenient, with the bus stop just a few minutes' walk away and many food stores nearby. I especially want to praise the front desk staff, whose service was really considerate! When we checked in, she took the initiative to help us upgrade to a high-floor viewing room, and also hand-painted a map of nearby authentic snacks; on the day of check-out, there was a sudden rainstorm, and she not only lent us an umbrella, but also helped us book a special car to the airport. She provided smiling service throughout the whole journey, patiently answering every question, just as thoughtful as a friend. This home-away-from-home experience made the whole journey full of warmth, and I will definitely choose here again next time I come to Haikou!

I stayed here with my eldest son a few years ago, and I stayed here again with my younger brother this year. It is close to the beach, and you can reach the beach by crossing the road. There is also a hot spring swimming pool and a fish therapy pool in the hotel. There is a place for children to play even if they don't go to the beach. The room is not small, and the price-performance ratio is very high

The hotel is still very good, the service is good, the beach is right outside, the sea breeze can be felt when the window is open, and there is no noise as others have said when the window is closed.
Without mentioning the advantages, let's talk about the areas that need improvement:
1. It is indeed a bit late to arrive at the hotel at 9 pm, but it is also true that the bananas given as gifts are black, so it is better to change to other fruits;
2. The hotel linens are not washed cleanly, and there are yellow ”small maps”. Fortunately, I brought the sheets with me this time, otherwise I would definitely check out.

We stayed three nights at Hilton Haikou and got the residence apartment. The view was gorgeous at lvl 29, the bed was comfy and room was spacious. It was very easy to take a didi car to qi Lou old street and haikou century bridge. There could be a bit of a jam during peak hour so do be mindful.
At the back of the hotel, it's linked to a mall with a supermarket and coconut steamboat so it's pretty convenient. Buffet breakfast was yum, the waffles were the best compared to other hotels at Sanya and ocean flower island, the hainan rice noodle was delicious and the freshly fried youtiao. We wish there could be more variety but overall we enjoyed our stay

GGuest UserThis is our first trip to Haikou, although we have been to Sanya a few times. The Langham Haikou is conveniently located, there are shopping malls, shops and restaurants nearby.
The swimming pool is clean with nice view, esp. for taking photos. It definitely has a resort feel.
All the staff provide excellent services, including Concierge and Front Office.
Special thanks to Miss Julie Wang who is always helpful and caring in all aspects, and she upgraded us to a sea view room with stunning view! Deeply appreciated!
The room is spacious and cozy, very comfortable. We will come back to stay again in the near future.

MMarkBreakfast had a vast selection, but none of it was very good. The sushi would make a Japanese person cry, the sausages and bacon would make an English person cry and you would get a better Chinese breakfast for 10RMB at a local market (baozi and yotiao are from frozen).
The main reason for choosing this hotel over other options was the kids club. Unfortunately it is rubbish. A single member of staff doing some origami with leaves or basic art/craft. Requires adult supervision. Very disappointing by international standards.
Hotel is very grand, but not maintained to the standard you would expect from the brand. Design of the hotel does not lend itself to Haikou's climate, the communal spaces are not aircondionable and so it is uncomfortably hot.
Pool was good, but again needs maintenance. Children especially enjoyed the foam cannon.
Room was spacious, clean and cool.
Coffee is good.
At the time of writing they offer ”good night” as a free gift which is a lavender spray. They also offer a free drink on arrival - which just means help yourself to a drink from the fridge in your room.
Overall I would recommend paying a bit less and going with a newer hotel closer to the city.

AAnonymous UserOn the positive side: The hotel itself is quite great, playground and pools were appealing, several good activities for kids, restaurant and breakfast were also very good and staff very friendly (especially in restaurant)
In the negative side: the location is not good, at least 8-10km from everything. No any restaurant or activities nearby, need to take a taxi for everything with at least 40min to 1h drive. One of the restaurant (noodle one) closed quite early so dinner in hotel was limited to 2 restaurants. In addition, because of weather (wind and a bit cold) beach was not suitable for us to stay and pools were closed.
Good hotel for company events or short family stay (max 2 days) but not for prolonged family vacation (week)

AAndreasWe had a great stay at the hotel. The location is quite good, not that crowded than in downtown. A special thanks goes to Erin Wu. She made it happen that we got our rental car. I want also mention Kourtney Hey and Steve Shi for their good support struggling with my Apps. Also our room maid was great, I got always a extra coffee bag🙂. The only thing I don’t like is the fact that you have to wear a swim cap in main swimming pool. That’s the first time that we had to do this but this is a governmental rule I was told. Nevertheless, we can highly recommend this hotel.

GGuest UserThe location was not ideal for the purpose of my vacation. It was difficult to determine from the online information available, if there was a beach nearby. There wasn’t. It was also frustrating that the swimming pool was closed given that there was not swimming beach nearby. There is a supposed to be a spa in the hotel but it was no longer available. A fitness room still exists and looked well equipped. Aside from this, the staff were friendly and a couple of the staff spoke enough English to take care of my needs. The buffet breakfast was excellent and the cleaning staff did an excellent job of cleaning my room. It was convenient to have laundry facilities in the room given that my stay was 14 days long. If you’re in Haikou for business, then I give this hotel high marks. I was on vacation so it wasn’t the ideal hotel.

LLanxinguifuThe hotel is in an excellent location with a very good surrounding environment, including Wanlv Park, Century Bridge, Yundong Library, etc. Free parking is also very convenient. The front desk lady is attentive and enthusiastic, and feels at home. We also upgraded the room for our old customers. Standing on the balcony, you can see the beautiful night view and the bay, which is very spectacular and beautiful. The room is fully equipped, the bedding is comfortable, and the breakfast is very rich. I will often visit this hotel in the future.

GGuest UserConvenient transportation. The Wanlvyuan bus stop is nearby. You can take the bus directly to Qilou Old Street and Bell Tower. You can also take bus G37 directly to Holiday Beach and Xixiu Beach. Yundong Library and Century Bridge are also accessible by bus. The hotel service staff is very good, the breakfast is rich and delicious, and the environment is very clean. It is worth recommending

GGuest UserIt is close to the holiday beach and has its own swimming pool. You can see the swimming pool, beach and sea from the balcony. As a sea view room, the price is relatively affordable. It is very convenient to park and visit the beach.
There was a lot of seaweed on the beach in March that no one had cleared away, and it was a bit smelly.
The facilities are relatively old, some sockets are broken, the basic toiletries provided can only be said to be there, and the wooden door in the room is so old that I suspect it will break if I use a little force...
