Hotels in Susukino, Sapporo

I have a wonderful stay in this Homestay. The washing machine is help me a lot, walking distance to susukino around 15min. The house is so clean.

The room was quite spacious, especially for a Japanese hotel – definitely one of the largest I've stayed in. The location is excellent; it's just a short walk to Nijo Market, the large supermarket in Susukino, Tanukikoji shopping street, and major shopping malls. There are tons of restaurants around the hotel, so you can pretty much find anything you're craving. The hotel breakfast is good, and if you love sashimi, you'll absolutely adore what they offer. If I go to Sapporo again, I'll definitely choose this hotel.

Excellent stay! The room was super luxurious and spacious, and spotlessly clean. They had all the amenities you could need, and the bedding and pillows were fresh. Service was great, very polite. Plus, you can charge your devices in the lobby, and it's really close to the park.

You can find this hostel by typing ”theatel” into Google Maps, and the navigation is pretty accurate. It's located on the third floor of a building with two entrances. One entrance has ”F-45” written on it, and there's a floor directory next to it (with the hostel's name listed on the 3rd-floor section). The other entrance has a huge 'egg' shaped sculpture in front of it. Near this egg sculpture, you can see the famous landmark beer billboard (featuring an old foreign man's face). You can also see the hostel's name when you enter the building from behind the egg sculpture. Take the elevator to the third floor, and after exiting, turn right to find the front desk. Sometimes the front desk is unattended, but there's a tablet nearby with a QR code. Just scan it with your phone's camera to self-check-in (you'll need to enter a four-digit reservation code). The female-only section has a code-locked door (I received the code on my phone during self-check-in, and also in the email I provided when I made the reservation). After entering the code, there are two more doors: one leads to the accommodation area (my capsule bed was very clean and soft, came with two hangers, a bath towel, a blackout curtain at the entrance, a power outlet by the headboard, an overhead storage cabinet, a box of tissues, and a pair of indoor slippers at the foot of the bed). The other door leads to the washroom area (which I thought was cleverly designed). The innermost part has several shower stalls + changing areas, all equipped with shower gel and shampoo. Outside of that, there are a few coin-operated washing machines, and further out, two rows of sinks. There are stools under the sinks, and hand towels and hairdryers on top. Next to the sinks, in a separate area, are several toilets. The entire washroom area was very clean, and I actually found the toilet paper quality to be quite good. Perhaps influenced by the widely held belief about 'quiet Japanese society,' the entire hostel was very quiet. I booked and paid in advance through an online platform, so I didn't have to pay anything extra from check-in to check-out. On the wall above the foot of my capsule bed, there was a 'check-in guide' (with the Wi-Fi name and password, and a check-out QR code). You need to check out before 10 AM by scanning the code and confirming. I was very satisfied with my stay.

This was my second stay here. It's super easy to get to from Sapporo Station; just take Exit 1 at Nakajima-Koen, cross the traffic lights, and you're there. They have a hot spring and breakfast, and even if you don't book breakfast, it's only 500 yen. The best part is the afternoon tea 🍵 – it's perfect for sipping coffee ☕ and relaxing. Definitely avoid the smoking rooms; they smell terrible and haven't been renovated. Plus, they're smaller than the single rooms and about 100 yen more expensive, which isn't worth it. However, the location is great for getting around on the Namboku Line (green line).

⭐️ Stayed in a mixed dorm room & was a bit worried at first - but pleasantly surprised at the end 💚PROS + staff is very kind and helpful and there is someone at the front desk almost all the time (night excluded) + they organize summer festivals and get-togethers with their Odori Park Partner Hostel + real big and comfortable beds & a lockable drawer + towel & 2 clotheshangers + clean showers & bathrooms + great showergels + washer & dryer + washroom area on 10th floor that’s usable 24/7 + nice and comfortable common rooms, with fridge, cooking- & washing area & free tea/coffee + great subway & bus connections + great attractions in walkable distance + rooms get cleaned daily & your bedding gets changed every 4 days ❤️🩹 CONS - would’ve loved more storage space next to my bed! 🌱 Really loved this hostel & spend my 8 nights there very comfortably! Most of my roommates were nice and abided by the rules set by the hostel - if i were to travel to Sapporo again, i would choose to stay there again 💗

From the moment I entered the room, there was a very strong unpleasant odor that lingered even after ventilation. The soundproofing was also poor, and I could hear a lot of noise from outside and the surrounding areas, which made it almost impossible to sleep at night. Furthermore, I felt there was an issue with the air conditioner's placement. When in use, condensed water dripped directly onto the duvet on the bed below. Even after adjusting the airflow, the air still hit the double bed, making it uncomfortable to use. On the positive side, the breakfast was delicious, and the price was very reasonable, which I was happy with. While the staff's service and breakfast left a good impression, considering the room's smell, noise, and the air conditioner's condition, I unfortunately didn't have a very comfortable stay this time.

The hotel has no consideration in early check inn since you are from a long travel. Food has few selection in breakfast to offer. The room is appreciated very clean and all is in good condition.

This isn't a typical hotel with a staffed front desk; you check in using an automated machine. To enter the building, you need to input a code to open the door. There's no room key either; you enter a code at your room door to open it. The room door was unusually heavy, and at first, I thought it was stuck, but it opened when I pulled it with force. The room was spacious, and the kitchen was well-equipped with a cutting board, knives, dishes, cups, and a gas stove, so you can easily cook. The refrigerator was a standard size for 1-2 people, perfect for storing seafood souvenirs. Both the sofa and bed were large, making it feel more like a regular apartment than a hotel. I'd definitely want to stay here again.

I've stayed here several times, and it's a great spot, especially if you're attending an event at Sapporo Dome, as it's conveniently located near a Lawson convenience store and a soup curry restaurant across the street, close to Susukino, and just a short walk from a Toho Line subway exit. The bedside area is also super convenient with a USB port and a power outlet for charging your phone.
