Pretty good! It's really close to the subway station, and we had a great view of Nakajima Park's snowy scenery from our window. The triple room was also very spacious, offering excellent value for money. There was a Chinese-speaking staff member at the front desk, so communication was a breeze. Plus, the lobby connects directly to a Lawson convenience store, which was incredibly convenient!

We stayed in the Hollywood Twin Room, and although it was a bit small, it was incredibly clean and well-arranged! The hotel offers excellent value for money overall. Downstairs at check-in, they provide complimentary toiletries, and even mouthwash, toner, lotion, and makeup remover! I'd give the hotel facilities a perfect score; there's a self-service laundry room, ice machine, microwave, refrigerator, and even a dedicated smoking room. My favorite part is the 24-hour free coffee, and the quality is absolutely top-notch! 😌

Kay AmioLocation is good. It is close to the central area. Room is spacious enough for 2. Although you cannot open 2 luggages at the same time. There’s a mini fridge and a kettle. Free coffee and tea. Also you can borrow hair curler and iron on the front desk. They also offer other things you can borrow like nail cutter and others. They change towels everyday. But room cleaning is not allowed until your 4th night. The view is nice too. Here’s a photo taken from our room.

I didn't give you the password at the common entrance and I couldn't contact Trip.com.
I couldn't help but ask other residents to find out.
I don't know what happened on a hot day. It's really the worst response.
The hostel itself is mediocre
I don't want to use it again.

You can find this hostel by typing ”theatel” into Google Maps, and the navigation is pretty accurate. It's located on the third floor of a building with two entrances. One entrance has ”F-45” written on it, and there's a floor directory next to it (with the hostel's name listed on the 3rd-floor section). The other entrance has a huge 'egg' shaped sculpture in front of it. Near this egg sculpture, you can see the famous landmark beer billboard (featuring an old foreign man's face). You can also see the hostel's name when you enter the building from behind the egg sculpture. Take the elevator to the third floor, and after exiting, turn right to find the front desk. Sometimes the front desk is unattended, but there's a tablet nearby with a QR code. Just scan it with your phone's camera to self-check-in (you'll need to enter a four-digit reservation code). The female-only section has a code-locked door (I received the code on my phone during self-check-in, and also in the email I provided when I made the reservation). After entering the code, there are two more doors: one leads to the accommodation area (my capsule bed was very clean and soft, came with two hangers, a bath towel, a blackout curtain at the entrance, a power outlet by the headboard, an overhead storage cabinet, a box of tissues, and a pair of indoor slippers at the foot of the bed). The other door leads to the washroom area (which I thought was cleverly designed). The innermost part has several shower stalls + changing areas, all equipped with shower gel and shampoo. Outside of that, there are a few coin-operated washing machines, and further out, two rows of sinks. There are stools under the sinks, and hand towels and hairdryers on top. Next to the sinks, in a separate area, are several toilets. The entire washroom area was very clean, and I actually found the toilet paper quality to be quite good. Perhaps influenced by the widely held belief about 'quiet Japanese society,' the entire hostel was very quiet. I booked and paid in advance through an online platform, so I didn't have to pay anything extra from check-in to check-out. On the wall above the foot of my capsule bed, there was a 'check-in guide' (with the Wi-Fi name and password, and a check-out QR code). You need to check out before 10 AM by scanning the code and confirming. I was very satisfied with my stay.

Guest UserHere's an exterior shot of the hotel, taken from my room window. Its fantastic location, close to both the subway station and a commercial street, offers a peaceful retreat amidst the urban buzz. While the rooms are typically Japanese — compact and exquisitely designed — I believe it absolutely holds its own against even top Chinese hotels like Atour in all other aspects. The room rates also reflect the caliber of guests it attracts. Both the Western buffet breakfast and the complimentary afternoon tea were quite impressive.

We were a party of two, and the room was spacious with a very comfortable bed. The front desk was great, letting us check in half an hour early. The breakfast was delicious, and one of the staff members spoke Chinese.
On the downside, there's no TV, so it's quiet enough to hear noise from the hallway, which means the soundproofing isn't great. Also, a sewage-like smell occasionally wafted from the bathroom drain.

I am extremely disappointed with the service and the misleading room information provided by this property.
I specifically booked a twin room with two double beds. However, upon arrival, the room only had one double bed. This is completely different from what was advertised and what I paid for.
When I contacted the property to raise this issue, they insisted that the room has two double beds and can fit four people. In reality, there was only one double bed and a sofa. Later, the person in charge claimed the sofa could be used as a sofa bed. This is not the same as having two double beds.
This is misleading advertising and very unprofessional. If the room only has one double bed and one sofa bed, it should be clearly stated. Customers should not have to find out the truth only after arriving.
Very poor communication and unacceptable service. I would not recommend this property to others.

The location is fantastic! It's very close to the airport shuttle, Tanukikoji Market, and the subway station. There's also a Lawson convenience store right across the street. Overall, it's excellent, and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Sapporo. The price is cheap, but it doesn't include breakfast. The room was clean, and there was hot water. I'd give it a 9/10, just a minor point that the hotel is a bit old.
