We arrived earlier than the 3pm check in but were told our room was ready :) lovely deluxe room with balcony overlooking the gorgeous bay. Super efficient check in, friendly helpful staff. Room was clean and decor bright and fresh. With the doors closed, no traffic noise considering its proximity to the road. Clean bathroom with good shower. 2 water bottles in the fridge and coffee making facilities. Super location for a wonderful visit to Pilos, would not hesitate to return.

A great welcome by knowledgable receptionist and the hotel is in an excellent location. All appeared perfect. Unfortunately the beds and pillows are very hard, that along with the motorbikes racing up and down outside in the early hours meant we got no sleep.

Our previous booking let us down but this hotel had a comfortable room looking over the picturesque harbour with a balcony ata very good price. Parking was available opposite and there was a lift. The bathroom was a little tight, the shower especially but it worked fine for two people.

We had a deluxe room on a high floor with a lovely balcony facing the sea. Views were nice. The room was a great size, had a safe, tea & coffee making facilities and plenty of storage space for luggage and clothes. Nice bathroom with everything working well. Lovely breakfast and what a pleasant surprise to be able to carry your breakfast tray across the road to the covered terrace with views down to the city and the harbour. Friendly helpful staff. We also loved having access to the sister hotel Karalis Beach Hotel with its beautiful beach bar and sun lounge area, only a short walk from the Karalis City Hotel. We had a car and found parking easily in a small street just opposite.

We stayed two nights at the Karalis City Hotel and had a nice experience. It’s a good value for the cost. The breakfast spread was good with lots of options. We filled up and didn’t need lunch. Some fresh fruit would have been nice, they served canned peaches. The beds were a little firm for our taste, but the room itself was spacious and comfortable. Nice view of the harbor from our balcony. Roomy bathroom that was spotless. Appreciated the daily room clean. This was a perfect base for the area, great location near the square and lots of restaurants. There are a handful of parking spaces directly across from the hotel and a large public parking lot at the harbor down below.

Doing a tour of Greece using 2 and 3 star hotels. Karalis is by far the best I have seen during this tour. Nice, modern and spacious room. Very nice bathroom with lots of space, walk-in rain shower, beds are good, struggling to find any fault while going through the room. Maybe the shower curtain should be replaced by a door to make it perfect.

We had great hopes for this hotel, so much so that we decided to use it as a base for three nights so we could explore the area. We were, however, very disappointed. Let's cut to the chase. There were some plus points, here they are: THE PLUS POINTS: Excellent location, a stone’s throw from the main square, car park, balconies with an amazing view, good wifi, the room was clean. There was a Nespresso machine with two pods each day (except it was not replenished after our second day, we missed out on our last day’s early morning espresso) and two bottles of mineral water in the fridge to start with (again, not replenished after day 1). The terrace across the road is a pleasant spot for breakfast. The staff was friendly on the whole and the hotel accepts dogs (one of the reasons why we booked). On the negative side, here are our observations: The first words we heard at reception were ‘WE HAVE A PROBLEM’ which made our hearts sink as we’d booked in February and paid at the time too. The issue (with our dog) was resolved amicably, thankfully, but it was a weird welcome. PERVADING SEWAGE SMELL: When we entered the room on our first day, at around 3 pm, the whole room smelled of drains and sewage, (anyone who's had a boat and run the flush in the heads after a few months away will know the smell!), and this pervaded throughout that first day and evening, despite opening the balcony doors as long as we could. Allegedly this is because every day the municipality ‘opens’ the drainage system and ‘every house in Pylos smells bad’. It didn’t seem the case to us in other places but what do we know? BATHROOM: We had booked a more expensive room so we could have a bathtub but the bath plug was not working. No seal, no bath! When we asked and one of the receptionists came up to check, she said that “Someone must have broken it” but added that it could not be repaired. Even though we were staying another 2 nights, we were not offered to change room for one with a working bath (the hotel did not seem full). Showers only, then. Except that the showerhead pole is fitted so near the wall that it cannot be moved up or down – if you’re over 5ft 4, good luck crouching down underneath the showerhead to wash your hair. The shower pole was also badly pitted. In a hotel of good standing in Greece, I’d expect toiletries such as Korres or Apivita but no, the do-it-all shampoo-shower-gel provided was a pretty cheap paint stripper-style supermarket brand. The loo roll holder is so badly positioned that every time you pull on it, the roll falls out on the floor. CORRIDORS/BATHROOM VENTS: The corridors are very hot and stuffy, with no ventilation (a hotspot for high viral transmission in the days of airborne viruses, especially as the bedrooms’ bathroom vent windows open out onto the corridor, which is weird to say the least, and likely not very hygienic). SPA? The website mentions ‘Hotel and ‘spa’ but there was no information available in the room or online about sp

needs more responsible reception staff. I had a reservation saved and confirmed a month ago and a week before the trip they send me two e.mails every other day for reconfirmation, which go to the spam folder and I don't see them. the day before the trip I call and find out that I don't have a reservation. a hotel with an 8.7 rating on *********** cannot work so unprofessionally! they could at least call me on the phone!

Messinia and Pylos specific, is a wonderful region. Appart from the mega luxus hotels in the vicinity, there not so many "ordinary people" hotel. We visited Karalis City Hotel during the Navarino Sea Battle festivities and it was a great experience. Amazing view to Pilos city and harbor, recently renovated room, spacious clean and ergonomic bathroom, big tv, real life hair dryer and a very good breakfast buffet. So, highly recommended if you want to live near the city of Pilos and explore this amazing region.

Today is the last day of vacation at your hotel and I'm looking for something negative to ease my sadness that we have to leave. In vain I have no words to describe our stay at your hotel. We did not feel like b-class customers because of the co-tourism, the service was exactly the same as all the others, the rooms were unique with a view of Pylos, one of the two renovated, spotlessly modern, the breakfast basil and the staff one better than the other with kindness smiles and discretion Thank you for giving us an amazing holiday and hope to see you again soon

The hotel is located at the beginning of Pylos coming from Kalamata, the only flaw it has is that it does not have its own parking (it has 4 spaces but always occupied) even if a short distance away there is a large parking by the sea where there is always a place. The room was a good size as was the bathroom, and the cleanliness was good. From the room you can see the sea below with a nice view. The air conditioning worked well. The reception staff were polite and courteous and in the evening there was a lady who spoke excellent Italian. On foot you can easily reach the seafront where there are bars and restaurants. The breakfast was excellent with a really good orange juice and a good choice between sweet and savory. You can also have breakfast outside on a veranda overlooking the sea, but you have to cross the street and it wasn't very comfortable.
