The hotel is relatively hidden, so be sure to follow googlemap to find it. The room is relatively small but sufficient. The overall environment is pretty good in the surrounding area. There is also a swimming pool. There are good local restaurants and supermarkets about 10 minutes' walk from the hotel. You can ask the front desk for details. It takes about 15 minutes to drive to Saiwu Waterfall. You can't call a car with your mobile phone. Discuss with the front desk to use the hotel's car, which may be an SUV or a convertible pickup. Don't worry about it. It is recommended to stay for two more nights if you are not rushing to travel. Although the hotel has average hardware, it is small and beautiful, so it is suitable for space.

很好很舒服

Nice hotel offering chalet and room style accommodation. Comfortable modern amenities, clean rooms and nice pool. A bit away from the main village, so it is hard to go out for dinner unless you drove out or borrowed a scooter. I would not recommend walking out after dark as it is not a lit path. Limited food options for dinner at the onsite restaurant that is open for a limited number of hours for dinner. Breakfast buffet was simple with limited choices too.

The room was very small, outdated, and noisy. The bathroom was moldy. The hot water did not work very well. The WIFI did not work 95% of time, the power went out 3 times in the middle of the night. The praying music was loud at 4 AM. The breakfast was poor with limited choice. They ran out of food even though we ate at 8 AM. The outside was nice but deceitful. They should have spent some of the money for the rooms instead of the outside.

Excellent for the price. The pool is magnificent but mind the treacherous steps into it! We had no hot water but I'm rating a 5 as everything else including the staff was on point. Basic but tasty breakfast. Pity the hotel doesn't have an upper deck to take advantage of the gorgeous view of Semeru!

Any tourist coming here will be here for 1 reason - to se Sewu waterfalls. The young staff are all very friendly. The rooms are decent with clean linens , a/c and hot water. (Shower valve reversed direction) Even had a swimming pool about 10 meters long. Food was acceptable. Don’t expect a Marriott or Hilton in those parts of town. Bargain prices and fun to explore the neighborhood. Howard S.

They have different rooms, the best are the 4 VIP rooms @650K. The pool and garden is very nice and well kept. For dinner, I recommend to go to the Rumah Makan in the village (10 min walk), as choice is very limited, portions are small, and taste rather bland. Recommend to come back after dinner for a few cold beers in the evening. Breakfast (Indonesian) is quite good, especially the fried rice.

Artha Cottages is a really lovely hotel with very helpful staff. The grounds are well landscaped, they offer ATV rides along the slopes of Semeru through the pine forest, and they have a lovely pool. The breakfast is really good and the restaurant has good views too. For sure I will stay there again if we go back to Tumpak Sewu.
