Visited th e City of Paraga to celebrate my birthday with my mother and son. I was not that excited after visiting the web page on line. To us was a big surprise and I'm glad that did not go elsewhere. The welcoming was great, very warm and our room was huge, clean and with a awesome view of a city park. Joseph, the head master was a enormous help and a very kind and altruist person. He spoilded my son to the limit with his apple juices. Absolutely will go back to the Pension in a future visit and I highly reccomend this option for a visit to Paga. Very well located and served. Also would like to thank the rest of the staff.

We were very impressed. It's a 400 year old building so it has a certain cosy, homey, old world feel without any fancy bling. The first thing that we noticed is how quiet it was even though it was close to all the action. It's on a looped street with practically no traffic and backs onto a channel of the river...more on that in a moment. We had a 2 room suite, very large and comfortable. Fridge stopped working but it was replaced while were out...very attentive hosts. The breakfast was very substantial BUT it only runs from 8:30 to 10:30 so that's a bit late if you want to get to any sites when they open (usually 9). As a result, it can get busy at 8:30 which can overwhelm the kitchen...you may end up waiting for eggs for example. But if you aren't in a rush, it's fine. Now about that river channel. This is their secret weapon but they haven't capitalized on it. Down through the narrow garden sits a patio with some old chairs and dusty table overlooking the babbling river and huge park on the other side. The landscape designer in me was going crazy with what they have here... new see through railings (currently brick, blocks some view), new furniture, some tile on the floor, some lighting. OMG! We swept and cleaned it up a bit and spent a couple evenings down here with wine listening to the faint music from the park and the birds. Glorious. There's a restaurant next door that charges lotsa money to sit on the same riverbank and you get it included in your stay. Will definitely go back there if in Prague again. (oh, pay attention to your arrival time...I didn't read the fine print...check in closes at 7 so you need to make arrangements if you're arriving later, they graciously accommodated my stupidity.)

Unfortunately, the guesthouse is not comfortable, the rooms are large, but the beds are small and uncomfortable, the double bed was a queen size bed. The breakfast was poor few things and most all salty. In fact, the other days we had breakfast in bars in Prague. The only good thing is the location very close to the center of Prague.
