Although we've been quite a few times to Portugal (and love the place!), this was our first experience in Porto. As always, selecting the place to stay is a difficult art as so much depends - overall - on that part of the trip. Boy! Have we been blessed by the choice we made to stay at the InPatio Guest House! Not only was the hotel ideally located for getting around (by foot, taxi, Über ...) and visit the many great places the city has to offer (including its restaurants...) but, as we got to learn, how charming its hosts are. It so happens we were - very - unlucky with the weather. Of course, the sun came back as we taking off from the airport on our journey back home, but it didn't stop pouring rain during the three days we were in Porto. Olga and Fernando made a big difference by always going the extra mile for making sure we would make the best from the situation. Many other guests have praised the quality of the (home made) breakfast, and that's totally true. Plus, getting explanations on the different pieces served - differently - every morning was quite welcomed. What can I say? If one day we want to go back there and do the many things we missed last time because of the bad weather, we will schedule our visit according to the availability of Olga and Fernando's place. Muito obrigado, queridos amigos!

We had 5 wonderful nights at InPatio. Olga and Fernando are excellent hosts. Great communication prior to our arrival. The location is perfect for exploring the city, close to the train station, river and restaurants. Our room was spotlessly clean, comfortable bed and quiet. Breakfast is amazing with local meats & cheeses, yogurt (with a new topping every morning), bread, croissants, fruit and jam. Highly recommend.

The breakfast was the best I ate during my 3 weeks in Portugal. Fresh, local, and served with class. The hosts make sure you have everything you need, including some items I didn’t find elsewhere, like washcloths, lotion and conditioner. The bed was super comfortable. An overall wonderful oasis and only a 5 minute walk from Sao Bento train station.

Excellent location in Ribeira district, walking distance to lots of attractions, livrario lello, Igreja de carmo, clerigos tower, Ponte dom luis 1, port cellars, river trips and so many bars and restaurants. Inpatio is very modern, clean, tidy with simple tasteful decor. Bathrooms big with good showers. Breakfast is simple but so good, presented beautifully, produce is all top quality and fresh. Meats, cheese and jams are Portuguese and explained with great enthusiasm by Olga. Fernando is very pleasant and helpful too. Charming place ran by equally charming people, forget the big chain hotels and stay here!!!!

We had a wonderful stay at inPatio Guest House in Porto. The location is terrific, just steps away from so many places of interest but located inside a quiet courtyard - a perfect combination. The Guest House is extremely clean and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious. The room rate was very reasonable. Olga and Ferdinand were friendly and helpful from our first email contact through our stay. Jr welcomed us warmly. We highly recommend staying here.

We had a wonderful experience at InPatio guesthouse! Olga and Fernando are amazing hosts and served a delicious homemade breakfast each morning. The location is in the heart of the Ribera neighborhood. From here you are close to the river, train station, and subway and the most beautiful areas of Porto. I was traveling with my elderly parents and Olga arranged transportation from the airport and to the train station. The rooms were very clean and nicely furnished and a great value. We would happily return to visit InPatio guesthouse if given the chance!

We stayed 4 nights at InPatio and absolutely loved it. The place is spotless, rooms are excellent. The hosts were welcoming and Olga prepared a delicious breakfast including Portuguese specialties which added to the stay. Best of all is the location. Across from the stock exchange, close to the waterfront and lots of eating options. Would highly recommend.

Great location near the river. Set in an area between buildings-making it a quiet experience. Simple furnishings, no elevator, but big bathroom! Best part was Olga presenting us a beautiful tray of tasty, healthy food for breakfast each morning (at our table) and explaining where each item came from around Portugal!

This lovely gem of a guest house is tucked away off a courtyard a short walk from the waterfront. The courtyard is surprisingly quiet and peaceful, despite being also the site of a terrific restaurant that we ate at repeatedly. Our room was quiet and cozy. Olga and Fernando were super helpful, ahead of our trip as well as during our stay. And Olga orchestrates incredible breakfasts, baking fresh pastries and other local delicacies herself. Hard to beat this place in Porto!

InPatio is a delightful guest host to stay in. We had a very relaxing visit and enjoyed a breakfast of Portuguese specialties each morning. Olga and Fernando were very attentive to anything we needed. I highly recommend staying in this guest house, and hope to return myself someday! There is also a phenomenal restaurant, O Solar do Patio, about 10 feet from InPatio’s front door!

We went to explore Porto for two nights / three days in early March. The location of InPatio Guest House was excellent and we comfortably explored the Porto and Vila Nova de Gaia sites on foot. The small guest house provides an intimate and quiet experience tucked in a quiet courtyard for an easy walk to the river. We were also able to carry our luggage and walk to Sao Bento train station from the guest house. The room was clean, comfortable, and quiet. Our hosts, Fernando and Olga, were welcoming, attentive, and friendly. Olga prepared a delicious breakfast each morning which she served to our table and she explained all the Portuguese foods on her menu. This place was a perfect fit for our Porto exploration.

A perfect place to stay in Porto. I’d love to stay again. The room was lovely. The breakfast was outstanding - great coffee, a wonderful selection of beautifully presented fruit, a fabulous home made orange and almond cake. And a warm, friendly welcome from the owners. A really lovely experience.

The breakfasts are spectacular and the owners are super nice. There is no elevator, but there is a dumb waiter for your luggage. The location is ideal, right near downtown and also near the river and easy walking distance to all the major attractions.

This is perhaps the best guest house I've ever stayed in! I have to start with Olga and Fernando. They created this hidden gem and I found the aesthetic and use of space to be spot on. But more than that, their kindness and helpfulness is memorable. They went out of their way to resolve a few travel wrinkles I encountered and gave me some great advice. And then there was the breakfast. Olga curated it beautifully and took the time to explain the thoughtfulness behind her choices. As for the location, it couldn't have been better. As a light sleeper, I do best with a quiet location and this was it. Hidden in a small alleyway, just a few steps from the action and a short walk to the river, it was quiet and convenient. I'd come back again in a heartbeat.

The location of this hotel is convenient to see the city and the riverfront is just down the hill. As it is located just off the main road, our room was very quiet. The hotel is well maintained and very clean. Breakfast was excellent with several local specialties each day. The owners are very responsive to requests. A parking facility is within walking distance. I would definitely recommend this hotel and hope to return in the future.
