The ROOM is not user-friendly. The spaces inside are not well distributed. The hangers don't fit well in the "open wardrobe", the AC can't be controlled, the water pressure from the sink is very low and the coffee machine inside the drawer is almost hidden inside. The LOCATION is good if you plan to go to city center (bolhao market) but not convenient if you wish to go to Ribeira by waking. The entrance to the parking space (20€ per night) is very tiny and not easy to access; they didn't park the car for us as most hotels do. For 1 night we had no hot water and we had to take cold shower. We didn't receive any welcome kit (usually they give you a sweet, a small pastel de nata, but they didn't to us). Breakfast is a small buffet with limited options. The entire experience at this hotel is definitely not worth the money they charge p/night, roughly 125€. Not recommended 2/5

The room is very simple but the space is quite large. The location is a bit remote but it is a relatively quiet area. There is a beautiful outdoor atrium shared with the hotel of the same brand next door. When you check in on the same day, you may encounter many people arriving at the same time. Having only one front desk guy will test everyone's patience. After all, even the Italians behind you can't stand it (ha). In other words, there is a very enthusiastic guy who will greet you during breakfast. The overall atmosphere is good, and the people who live here are also quite special. There are many retired people and many young people who look like backpackers.

The hotel looked beautiful on the website and even better in real life! The bar area is nice with basic drinks and although we didn’t have a meal, the breakfast had a great selection and the scrambled eggs were lovely! The room was spacious and clean, great shower! Would absolutely recommend, would happily stay again and look for their other places across Portugal. Incredible value!

I had an absolutely fantastic stay at The Editory Garden in Porto! The staff went above and beyond to provide exceptional service, making me feel truly welcome. Their attention to detail and friendliness made all the difference. The room was exactly as shown in the photos—beautifully designed, spacious, and impeccably clean. The location was also perfect, allowing easy access to Porto’s main attractions while still offering a peaceful retreat after a day of exploring. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Porto.

We really enjoyed our stay at The Editory Garden. The hotel is in a peaceful location and all of the team working there are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very good and regularly restocked throughout the morning. It is in walking distance of most tourist attractions but if you plan on going a lot of foot, be prepared for some hills. Our only issues with this hotel were that the air conditioning is not simple to operate, as a result our room was very warm despite it being February. We booked a premium room but the room was much smaller than shown in the photos that advertised it. This wasn't a problem for us but it did leave us wondering whether there's any point paying extra for premium. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would recommend this hotel to others looking for a break in Porto.

Great experience for three nights in Porto. Modern place, very clean and quiet, and well located. Beautiful garden for breakfast and coffee breaks. Varied and very fresh and natural breakfast options. The staff were very nice and helpful.

Newish hotel with comfortable bed, large powerful shower, easily usable safe and bar/restaurant where Breakfast is served. Regarding breakfast, hot food could have had greater availability after 9:30 but otherwise there was a good selection of fruit, rolls, cold meat and cheese. As someone previously said, the bar was often unmanned but reception were always able to find someone quite quickly. It can be a bit of a trek to get to the touristy areas but it was largely downhill and took about twenty minutes. A taxi costs about 6 euro each way for those who have mobility issues. The staff are mostly quite young and were friendly and helpful. Drawbacks? Every day we had to ask for English/black tea. Someone would go next door and come back with 2/4 packets. If you wanted a second cup, you had to ask again. Similarly with beer. Draught was off and only a couple of bottles were in the fridge. Drink two, and someone had to go and get some more. Why after four days someone in charge didn't anticipate the usual demand is surprising? I think the staff would agree that they have better things to do than to go back and forth to the stores for tea and beer, two basics. It may seem petty to withhold a star over something so trivial but when it hapened day in and day out it becomes irritating. Easily solved though.

This hotel was disappointing. Our room was "ready" upon arrival but when we entered the room we could see that it hadnt been cleaned (bed wasnt made, garbage in the garbage can, dirty towels on the floor, etc). We were asked to go back to the lobby and wait for it to be cleaned. They offered us a "gift" to make up for it but it was wine and cookies (which I could not consume). The following day the AC in our room broke and it was minus a million in the room. We had extra blankets but that was not enough. They did not have any staff on hand to fix the AC and no other rooms to move us to. We were compensated 1 breakfast (not 2 even though there were 2 of us in the room). We would have preferred a refund on this room. Overall the room was updated and the location was good but we did not have a good experience here.

We stayed at the Editory Garden Porto Hotel in October 2024 and very much enjoyed it. The hotel is on a quiet street but still very walkable to the main touristy areas. It is calm and the rooms and common areas and tastefully decorated and tranquil. Our room was modern and well cleaned and maintained. We had a small issue with the A/C but other than that the room was perfect. The staff- Raphael and his colleagues at the front desk and Dany and her team in the restaurant couldn’t have been more friendly, patient, kind and full of sunshine and passion or their work. It really shows when people do their jobs with love and that feeling made our stay feel so warm and welcoming. I have never had a better breakfast at a hotel anywhere. Period. Love is in the details… and this staff certainly knows how to make you feel at home! I would stay there again when we come back to Porto!

This is a very good hotel which is about a 20 minute walk from the main part of Porto. It is a fairly straightforward walk mostly along a pedestrianised road with lots of shops, bars and cafes. However, it is uphill on the way back and that might be a problem for some people, but it is quite easy to get a taxi if needed. On the plus side, this means that the hotel is located away from the crowds in a nice quiet area. We had booked a Premium room which was okay and had a good bathroom. A minor complaint is that the service was a bit light with regard to providing toiletries so make sure you have your own shower gel and shampoo in case they are not always supplied. There is a very nice outside seating area and a nice bar and lounge. The bar and lounge area are open all day but it is not always staffed outside busy times, so you may need to ask for service at the reception desk which is close by. The breakfast offering was quite extensive and everything was very good. All the staff were very helpful and friendly.
