I really enjoyed my stay at the Palace Gate Hotel & Resort. The location is perfect and the customer service was fantastic. The room was comfortable and spacious. The breakfast offered was delicious and there was a nice variety to choose from daily. My son loved the pool. The hotel environment was relaxing which was much needed after being out during the day touring the city.

The whole place felt grubby. Marks on the wall beside the toilet, below the mirror at the basin (like toothpaste/spit splash hadn’t been wiped), found a blood stain on the doona cover (see pic) that was hidden by it being folded down when we arrived. Ugly stain marks above the bed head (see pic). Towels are thin & need replacing. Drain in the shower was slow/partially blocked so you end up standing in a pool of wash water that almost overflows the shower. Pool has black scum along some edges (although water seems clean), sun lounges are mouldy. Our room wasn’t cleaned “because we didn’t ask for it to be”, but I had put out the ‘’make up my room’ sign after coming back from a city tour & seeing it hadn’t been cleaned. No instructions about needing to “request” a clean. Ran out of toilet paper & had overflowing rubbish as a result & had to call reception to bring paper. Breakfast is very average. I had low expectations after reading other reviews but it was bad. Ran out of food & had to ask them to refill. Coffee & tea was cold. Only the omelette was good, once I figured out eggs were included as the cook is outside & they don’t tell you about it when you come in. Reception didn’t give me back my passport (like they should!) when I checked in & I didn’t realise as I was distracted. Then when I checked out & said my room number, they looked at the computer & said “ok” and waved me off. Then I got to the airport & realised it wasn’t in my compendium like it should be. I had to pay to get it to the airport, no apology & then I find they had my room number clipped to it, so should have given it to me on checkout! The bed was ok comfort wise. Tuk tuk driver Son was attentive & helpful for trips around town. (See pic) Cocktails at happy hour are a good price & made well quality drinks. (See pic) Would not stay here even though it’s a cheap price & is in a good location.

What a great hotel this is. The room was large and spacious. The bed is comfortable. The aircon works well, there is a fridge, water, kettle, a place to hang your clothes, toiletries, a bath and shower, towels and a gorgeous balcony to sit and enjoy although I didn't have any views other than the busy road which made it noisy at night but this is to be expected as the location is amazing! Next to Bassac Street, I really liked this hotel! The staff are warm and welcoming. Point to note: The room has no safety deposit box. Highly recommend!

The hotel is located on Floor 28/29 in The Bridge SOHO Building. Check-In / Check-Out was easy. Next to the hotel are several options to eat, shop and nightlife. Room was big and the view was stunning. I booked a room with river view.
i want to notice that the bathroom smelled like mold. It was also flooded after showering and I have seen cockroaches every now and then.
The pool area was nice and the gym was also great especially if you want to do a basic workout. (the area is located on floor 39.

It is located in Chinatown in the south of the city. It is a convenient location for sightseeing, so I highly recommend it.
The rooms are clean, the views are great, and the price is reasonable, making this a great value hotel.
Perhaps because of this, the reception is always crowded. The reception is small compared to the number of rooms, so it takes time to check in and out. I wish the staff would try harder, but I also wish they would hire a few more staff.

This is a relatively new hotel and I stayed here for a week. It's clean and the beds are super comfy. The breakfast is adequate with a mix of western and Asian dishes. However, the dinner menu is really tasty with pastas, soups, khmer dishes, etc.The rooftop bar and plunge pool was lovely with great views of the skyline. The pool on the ground floor next to the bar is also lovely. The hotel is steps away from the restaurants and bars of Bassac Street and about a mile from the Palace. Ask for a room that doesn't overlook Bassac unless you are a deep sleeper or have ear plugs. The noise from the clubs can be loud. Ear plugs worked just fine. There is only one elevator, so be patient. Overall, a great, comfortable stay. Staff are friendly and helpful. My first room on the 2nd smelled like sewer but they moved me quickly without complaint.

The room is big but the indoor facilities are average. The most unpleasant thing is: any time you enter the hotel, no matter morning, noon or night, there is always a group of big men sitting on the sofa in the lobby, most of them are smoking, some are gambling, some are lying down to sleep, it feels smoky and it seems that something big is going to happen at any time!

Opposite AEON 1 for nice shopping and eating. There are 3 AEON malls in Phnom Penh now. Tuktuk booked via an app costs 6,000 Riels to Night Market. The Reception lady is so sweet. She booked me a tuktuk and I paid by cash directly to the driver. Thank you very much. From my memory Reception staff doesn’t work from 3am to 8am. Room is large and things are made from high quality materials. I love the pool on 41th floor. Breathtaking river views and city views up there. The restaurant is on the same floor so we walked pass it to use the pool. No other guests were there when both of us swam. Pool opens from 7am. Small changing room and toilet are near the pool. Fitness Room is on 7th floor. High quality and great services. No one was there when we worked out. After the guest finishes using the walking machine and sweats, a male staff comes to wipe the machine. Very good! Towels are readily available for guests to use both in the Fitness Room and Pool. The checked in and out were smooth. They returned the 50 USD deposit in both USD and Riel. In other cities, a room like this often costs 70 USD. Here the price is very good. The building is Celeste Building opposite Sofitel and AEON and we walked through it to the next building to see SF Hotel table in the corner. Excellent value for money. Btw it was Caesar Hotel before so room amenities and towels have that brand. Room is a bit wear and tear but clean and comfortable. Air con takes a long time to cool the room as they has a cover in front of it to avoid direct air flow to the bed. Carpeted walk way from elevator to the rooms. We enjoyed our stay very much and wish to come back to swim again.

GGuest UserIt’s never easy to choose a place to stay, but HOTEL KVL never turn me down. I’ve been staying there a few times with different room type. I love all the facilities and designation. Room is clean & good smell. Relaxing and peace. Staffs are very friendly, especially, the beautiful FOM “Nhean Sateka”. She is very helpful and friendly. Moreover, the foods and beverages at HOTEL KVL are delicious and acceptable price. You may enjoy eating & having coffee/tea with riverside sunrise/sunset/night view from your room or at Up by KVL (rooftop sky bar). They have coffee shop, the Alchemist, Skylight restaurant, Eltapas. You also enjoy the benefit gym at Vertical Gym. That’s all from my sharing, I bet you should try at least once at HOTEL KVL, you will be back again.
AAirborn63The hotel is just few years old, modern decor with good bed, balcony, fridge, kettle and it is clean.
Next door is a restaurant where breakfast is served as well as lunch or evening meal. It is in a quiet location giving good night sleep. If you prefer to eat elsewhere there are plenty of places nearby.
Based short tuctuc ride from the airport.
Definitely value for money, I will be returning.
BbrianmQ8209UUWe arrived and were welcomed from the start. The check in went smoothly. The rooms were great, clean and just right. Lovely pool thrown in which was just right post full day of touring. The hotel is great location and we walked to restaurant and local bars. Helpful staff from the start to finish. Thank you.
ZzoslynneA nice boutique hotel, clean and friendly staff. Breakfast not a wide spread but definitely sufficient. They also served hot porridge per order. We asked for half boil egg, they gladly do for us. All staff from the front desk to the breakfast, helpful and friendly. Facilities only a pool but that is not what we go for so is fine. We ae happy with this hotel.
NNadine NStayed for the third time at this hotel in the space of 7 months! Love it so much, I keep coming back 😊 . As usual, friendly, amazing, efficient service from all staff starting at check-in and felt by all other staff members, especially cleaning, security and restaurant staff at Cloud 9.
Reception staff are always smiling, friendly and happy to help. Cleaning is done well and daily. Room service and Cloud 9 staff are friendly and quick. Staff mostly speak English so not a difficulty at all communicating. Check in and out is so quick and easy!
As always the pool is clean, quiet and well maintained. Room service and food at the hotel is top quality. Certainly, the spa is worth every cent and not that much more expensive than venturing out. Of course, you could get cheaper but the quality and environment at the hotel spa is truly serene, tranquil and top notch luxury!
Convenient shopping and food a plenty around the hotel and close to the riverside. Though it’s located close to the red 🚦 light district, security is exceptional and the area itself is not dangerous (keep your wits about you and valuables close regardless).
The only small drawback is the room lighting, although there are many lights, the yellow lighting can be quite dim especially around the sink area (ladies be warned, not so easy to apply makeup lol 😂) but this is a small thing. Overall, this remains my hotel of choice whenever in Phnom Penh!
Thank you for yet another wonderful stay at your amazing hotel!
RRobert PaulA lovely traditional Cambodian style hotel. The young staff are friendly and enthusiastic. There’s lots of wooden features and a wildly over cluttered lobby. The laneway leading to the hotel can be a little dodgy and littered with rubbish. Breakfast was served on the rooftop and quite good with plenty of choices. The rooftop pool and restaurant are both lovely and the service and food were appreciated. My room seemed fine but there’s no powerpoint near the bed and the shower set up is weird. Do house staff ever check the batteries in the TV remote? No balcony as stated in the Trip booking. Avoid the over charging Tuk Tuk drivers out front and call a GRAB for better value transportation.
GGuest UserAn unfortunate experience, I found myself in the worst situation dealing with M Residence, as on the day of my check-in, the Sale Manager Vincent neglected to inform the receptionist about my booking, and instead of booking online for a fair rate, they wanted to charge me 50 USD per night, when it was only 24 USD online. Because the receptionist was new and unfamiliar with the process, she had to validate each step with her manager. It took me 45 minutes to check-in. The whole thing felt sketchy because I had to pay 130 USD with tax instead of 72 USD online with Airbnb small tax it would have cost max 86 USD if I recall. Anyway, I paid and received a very small room with hardly working air conditioning and filthy elevator. The swimming pool was breaking apart, and it appeared that the structure was inadequately maintained. There was no pool attendant, and no PH and CL analysis of the chemicals in the pool was available. The entire establishment is a shambles, and they definitely lack hospitality skills. Anyway I shared some information about my experience with the Manager who told me “The staff are so bad” I wanted to react and tell him that he should invest in training them but I could see there was no point in telling him has he clearly do not hold any sense of hospitality skills… The day before my departure I contact the “Receptionist Supervisor” and asked if I should do my check out now to collect my deposit back as I leave at 5:50 am and she informed to not to worry there is 24/7 staff at the lobby. Of course, the day of my check out there was no staff at the lobby to proceed my check-out so now they are ghosting me over 30 USD refund. In addition to all of this I intended to do a collaboration with the Sales manager upon my arrival a discount or free stay over some pictures which they gladly receive but never gave me proper feedback nor a compensation. M Residence is a disgrace to the hospitality industry in Cambodia. Their unethical practices and scams are not the way to conduct business.
JJDUBLYAWe had a few days in Phnom Penh then went to Vietnam and came back to Phnom Penh for another 4 nights and this is where we booked in. It is in a great position right in the middle of town hence we could nearly walk anywhere we wanted. Fantastic value for money including breakfast. The breakfast is very decent and it is a la carte.....with things like eggs bene, pancakes, asian breakfasts and you also get coffee, tea and juice. The room itself was very clean and the bed super comfortable. The previous place we had stayed the bed was hard as a rock. The rooms are decorated very nicely and the bathrooms are good too. You have dressing gowns etc, shampoo and soaps, fridge in the room, tissues and we had a balcony (not sure if all rooms have a balcony). The staff were always very helpful and super friendly. There is a small pool on the rooftop near the restaurant. There are only 4-5 lounge chairs but we always were able to get one when we wanted. It was never that crowded I guess because a lot of people are out and about during the day but it was so refreshing to have a pool when you came back from a day out sightseeing. There is also a coffee shop on the ground floor which is great just to grab a coffee when needed. We loved our stay at Lavanya Boutique Hotel and would not hesitate to recommend.
GGuest UserThis is a cockroach infested hotel in the red light district used by the older men to entertain their ***********. The New Season Riverside Hotel is described as a modern property within walking distance of key attractions. Personally I would describe it as a out dated, run down, cockroach infested flee pit located in the centre of the red light district which caters for elderly white men and their *********** (there is a notice in each room stating *********** are welcome as long as they sign in at reception and are not under age)! We were met by the owner who could not be bothered to welcome us or look up from his computer other than to demand our passport’s. The room was dirty with long black hairs everywhere, including on the sheets. We paid extra for a window. We got a window with glass but when we opened the dirty stained curtains we found the ‘window’ was bricked up on the outside. There was also no fridge or garden as described in the description on Booking.com. Throughout the night we had to listen to the other occupants entertaining their guests and rats running in the void between the ceiling and the floor above. As soon as we turned the lights out at night to get a good nights sleep we found our room (105 located directly above the hotel kitchen) was infested with cockroaches which crawled across the bed as we lay there. We photographed and caught several under glasses. There was no one on duty at night to complain to so we spent the whole night awake sat up in bed with the lights on keeping cockroaches off us. The following morning, when I complained about the window, no fridge, no garden and the cockroaches the manager just laughed. Later that morning I spoke directly to the owner who also laughed. When I insisted that it was not a laughing mater he started to shout at me and became threatening and aggressive. He made some excuse about the fault being with Booking.com who had overbooked his hotel. We saw few other guests so did not believe the hotel was fully booked and did not see what this had to do with the cockroach infection. We had booked for 3 nights, when we said we wanted to leave early, the owner refused to refund the remaining 2 nights. I attempted to cancel the remaining 2 nights on Booking.com but the cancelation policy meant that we would not receive a refund. In addition to the above, the stairs are used as storage areas for cleaning equipment and rubbish. The only way to access the upper floors is by a small lift. This makes the hotel a 5 storey fire trap. There is a 6 inch gap between the bed and wall so during the night the pillows fall on the floor leaving you without a pillow to sleep on but a ladder for the cockroaches to get at you. I’m in my late 50s and have travelled extensively across Asia This is without doubt the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Unless you are an elderly man down on his luck, looking to entertain your ********** on the cheap and don’t mind cockroaches for company I would avoid th
