The moment you push open the heavy wooden door, the city's hustle and bustle are shut out. It's a genuine old house, not some 'faux-ancient' style.
🛏️ The stay was more comfortable than I expected. The room was spacious, antique in style, but not at all dark.
✔ Underfloor heating + central air conditioning throughout, so no fear of the cold in winter.
✔ Turn on the projector and binge-watching shows in bed at night was incredibly satisfying 📽️.
✔ Welcome fruit, tea, coffee, cocktails 🍹, and afternoon tea 🫖 were all prepared.
✔ 24-hour butler service, always responsive.
✔ Takeout can be delivered directly to the room – super friendly for lazy people.
🥟 The attention to detail was a real bonus. On the Winter Solstice, I actually got to eat dumplings handmade by the hotel, and I suddenly felt 'cared for'. The breakfast menu changes daily, so you don't get tired of it.
💆♀️ This was a truly relaxing, 'lie-flat' vacation. This time, I also tried the newly introduced sound bowl healing at the hotel, which made me so relaxed I didn't want to talk throughout the session. Even if I didn't leave all day, just soaking up the sun, reading, and daydreaming in the courtyard felt completely worth it.
📸 Every corner is picture-perfect. Carved window lattices, grey brick corridors – every spot is Instagrammable.

GGuest UserMy stay at the Novotel Hotel was fantastic. The hotel called us after our reservation to ask what time we'd be arriving and how many children we had. They even pre-arranged the beds for us. We're a family of four, and usually when we stay in other hotels, we have to make our own beds in double rooms. The Novotel not only pre-arranged the beds but also gave us an extra blanket, which was very thoughtful. The hotel environment was great and new, and the service was very warm and welcoming. It's conveniently located within the scenic area with shuttle buses to various attractions. They also gave us complimentary tickets to the petting zoo, which our children enjoyed immensely. We'll definitely stay here again next time we visit Yunqiu Mountain. The breakfast was also plentiful, clean, and hygienic.

Stepping into the lobby, the vintage 'Maillard' colored walls, the European-style fireplace area, and the walls lined with books instantly transported me into an artistic space, making the fatigue of my long travels disappear. When checking in, the front desk staff were incredibly enthusiastic. Not only did they quickly process my check-in, but they also thoughtfully introduced the hotel facilities and interesting places nearby. Their service truly warmed my heart!
Entering the room, the solid wood furniture paired with a Zinus mattress and star-rated bedding made lying down feel like being gently enveloped by clouds – pure comfort. The room also thoughtfully provided a coffee corner, and the aroma of pour-over coffee filled the air, allowing me to enjoy a moment of peace and tranquility even in this unfamiliar city.
The hotel's public areas are also fantastic. The 24-hour café, with its rich coffee aroma, is perfect whether you want to start your morning full of energy or relax in the evening with a cup of coffee. In my free time, I enjoyed picking out a favorite book in the book bar and immersing myself in a sea of knowledge; time just seemed to slow down.
Moreover, the hotel's location is excellent, with shopping malls and food streets all around, and transportation is very convenient. GGuest UserLet's start with the location. This hotel is very close to Xiaoxitian Temple. We followed the manager's instructions and rode a shared e-bike there, which took about 8 minutes. Shared e-bikes are very convenient.
As for the hotel's amenities, Xiaodu basically takes care of everything. The room is fully automated, the room was very clean, and the bed was very comfortable.
As for the breakfast, it's a small town, so it can't compare to big hotels, but it was still good, and the wontons were delicious.
As for the staff, be sure to pick up the little card they provide when you arrive; it's very helpful and personable. By the way, if you can see the manager, add him on WeChat for an even better experience. He'll send you some very helpful messages.
They also have a large parking lot, and valet parking is also available, which is very convenient.
Another great place, recommended by the owner, is Ma Shi Restaurant across the street. The food is delicious and generous.

Under the warm winter sun, I drove thousands of miles across mountains and rivers just to see the magnificence of Hukou Waterfall. When night fell, I arrived at Ji County Wanghelou Hotel, which is only 1.5 kilometers away from the Hukou Waterfall Visitor Center. It has convenient transportation and seems to be a resting place specially built for tourists. This place is close to the Yellow River, the parking lot is quite large, and you can also charge your electric cars.
Check-in experience: warmth and surprise
After traveling all the way, I was exhausted, but the reception of Wanghelou Hotel made me feel the warmth of home instantly. As I stepped into the hall, the warm breeze blew on my face, dispelling the chill outside the car window. The waitress at the front desk greeted us warmly with a smile on her face. She asked about my needs in a soft voice, and when she learned that I had come a long way, she took the initiative to upgrade my room, which gave me an unexpected surprise on that cold winter night.
After checking in, I entered the room. The room was warm and cozy, as if it was a safe haven tailor-made for me. The room was neatly furnished and spotlessly clean. The bed is clean and comfortable, exuding a faint fragrance. The curtains are drawn open, revealing the night view of the Yellow River.
I looked out the window of the room and saw the Yellow River outside. In the night, the Yellow River flows quietly, and the lights of Shaanxi Resort on the opposite bank flicker, like stars dotted on the night sky. I can't help but imagine that during the flood season, the Yellow River roars and rushes like thousands of horses galloping, raising thousands of huge waves. What a spectacular sight that would be! ,

The waitress kindly reminded me last night that breakfast time is from 7:00 to 8:30 in the morning. The breakfast is rich and varied, including steaming porridge, various pickles, freshly baked bread, boiled eggs, and several kinds of fried vegetables, etc., to meet the needs of different tastes.
After finishing my meal, I prepared to head to Hukou Waterfall. The waitress handed me a lunch discount coupon and told me that it could be used in the restaurants within the scenic area. This small gesture made me feel the hotel's thoughtfulness and consideration. During the trip, such details are often the most touching and made me feel more favorable towards Wanghelou Hotel.
Hukou Waterfall is stunning
With the warmth and expectation of the hotel, I drove to the Hukou Waterfall Visitor Center. Along the way, the magnificent scenery of the Yellow River dazzled me. Although the Yellow River in winter is not as turbulent as it is during the flood season, it still exhibits a calm and majestic power. The thick ice on both sides of the river sparkled in the sunlight, like a flowing silver ribbon, winding and rushing endlessly.
It happens that during this period, tickets are free. Only 20 yuan was required for ferry transportation, which reflects the meticulousness and overall perspective of Shanxi's cultural tourism. Like it.
When I arrived at Hukou Waterfall, I was shocked by the sight before me. The waterfall pours down from a great height, and the sound of the water is like thunder, deafening. Although it is the dry season, the waterfall is still majestic, with the water hitting the rocks and creating countless splashes of water and clouds rising. There was no sun that day and no rainbow. But when I stood on the observation deck and looked at the rushing Yellow River, my heart was filled with awe and emotion. The Yellow River, the mother river of the Chinese nation, has nurtured Chinese civilization and witnessed countless historical vicissitudes. Today, it still runs with tenacious vitality, nourishing this ancient land.
I walked slowly along the plank road and felt the magnificence of Hukou Waterfall up close. The roar of the waterfall echoes in my ears, as if telling an ancient story. I closed my eyes, took a deep breath, and felt the coolness and moisture of the water vapor. At this moment, I seemed to have merged with the Yellow River, and my soul was purified and sublimated like never before.
If you have time, you can drive to the other side. There is a bridge two or three kilometers below the waterfall. You can view it along the river road. Parking is not allowed. Figure 4 shows the scenery from the Shaanxi side.
Here, I not only enjoyed the magnificent scenery of the Yellow River, but also felt the warmth and care of Wanghelou Hotel. It is a warm harbor in my travels, allowing me to find a spiritual home during my busy journey. If I have the opportunity to come to Hukou Waterfall again, I will definitely choose Wanghelou Hotel again, because it makes me feel the warmth of home and makes me look forward to the trip.
