RRJHL5Great location less than 20 minutes from KHH airport. It is within 8 minutes walking distance from SOGO for those who love to shop department stores.
There are 7-11s ( more than one!) Family Marts and a PX Mart (grocery store) along each road. Very convenient.
The drinks at 7-11 will be cheaper priced than Family Mart and PX Mart and sometimes they will have a BOGO on select items ( I got an extra baby wipe pack by sheer luck).
The Family Mart will have more unique items (ex Kombucha, health teas etc). The food selection for both places will be a bit limited for grab and go eats. Think sweet pastries and snacks. They do have some sandwiches but not super healthy if you are vegetarian.
The hotel has complementary breakfast that starts at 6:30am ends at 10am. It is a buffet the fills up the entire room. There is a wonderful mix of local foods, one Western style pot.
There is a small salad bar, fruit bar, coffee/tea and a small short order cook that will fry up 4 items (eggs, scallion onion omelette, turnip cakes). There is an other side has at least 10 varieties of local foods.
The quality is great! Not too oily, 2 congee pots ( regular and Hong Kong Style). Fruits include what is season (Guava, apples, watermelon) and oranges, bananas.
I will warn you about the late night snack (Dim Sum) buffet. Located on same floor and it starts at 7pm. That is a busy mad house. The line to queue up starts earlier and it will go down the hall to the stairwell.
Lots of tour buses come to this location and tour groups will flood in each week during season. I went during early April for 9 days.
I would go to breakfast at 8 am and skipped the nighttime crush. Restaurants are readily available all around and very affordable.
This hotel comes with complimentary laundry DIY and laundry powder soap. Make sure you write your room number on the dry erase placard and stick it on each machine you use. Otherwise another guest may accidentally throw their items in and use the machine. The dryers are on top so hard to see what’s on the bottom.
There is a free lounge in the lobby that has complimentary ice cream, coffee/tea and jasmine flavored gelatin cups. You can sit there all day if you like and sip on a free espresso or other drink.
This hotel comes with a lot of amenities at a reasonable rate— I will stay here again next time.

GGuest UserThe hotel boasts an excellent location, standing as a standalone building. There are plenty of shopping options nearby. The front desk is on the 20th floor. On the first floor, they take care of your luggage and deliver it directly to your room. The room isn't huge, but the warm tones make it feel cozy and comfortable. I was very pleased with the numerous complimentary amenities. The mini-bar offers a great variety of drinks, which is a thoughtful touch, and the Dyson hairdryer is very practical and convenient. The gym is a bit on the small side. Breakfast was the most satisfying part – the steak was tender and delicious, comparable to renowned steak houses! There's a wide selection of vegetables, fruits, and mushrooms, offering plenty of healthy choices. Overall, the standard is superb. I absolutely recommend it; personally, I think it's much better than Marriott or InterContinental! It's the top choice when visiting Kaohsiung.

PpohkThis was my third stay at this hotel since its grand opening. I visit Kaohsiung about every six months, and overall the experience has been consistently pleasant. The facilities are well designed and maintained , and the staff are friendly and professional
.
There was one issue during this stay—the shower drainage was clogged, so I had to use the bathtub instead. This is something that ideally shouldn’t happen at all, but the hotel’s response was okay. They came to fix it next morning as it was late.
The soundproofing and AC are excellent. I especially enjoyed the hot spring and the gym, both of which are well equipped and relaxing. I didn’t include the buffet breakfast this time, as I preferred grabbing local drinks, buns, and snacks from the 7‑Eleven or FamilyMart just across the street as well as leaving room for lunch later.
The desserts at the lobby café were delightful, and the Japanese restaurant was absolutely divine. It’s just a pity that I didn’t know the omakase needs to be pre-booked. The restaurant doesn’t reserve seats for hotel guests or ask about this in advance, which was a bit disappointing. The set menu was very nice.
Overall, it’s still a hotel I enjoy staying.

GGuest UserAbsolutely amazing service. I had delayed flights and a long travel time. I had a concert the same day and just expected to be allowed to drop my bags and check in later. However the staff were so friendly, understood and allowed me to check in early, luckily my room was ready. It meant a lot to me, thank you! Best hotel I have stayed in a while, yummy breakfast and fabulous views.

SsoybonbonThis was by far the worst value-for-money hotel on our trip. The room rate, even without breakfast, was more expensive than other hotels we've stayed at previously. The shower design was quite a puzzle; I couldn't find a single suitable spot to place clean clothes, especially for kids or shorter individuals like myself.

GGuest UserThe room's air conditioning wasn't working properly. Although drinks and alcohol were provided as compensation, the air conditioning equipment still needs improvement to make the room more comfortable.
DdkworksThe only good thing this hotel offers you is a stunning view of the Kaihsiung skyline, however cleanliness and staff could be improved. The hotel says it is a 5 star hotel, but in fact it only offers 3 star experience; hotel staff looks not welcoming, the rooms are quite outdated, the aircon cannot be switched for heat - it was super cold in the room and they turn the aircon for you before you check in - why? It is 15 degrees outside, why your aircon is at freezing mode?

GGuest UserThe hotel is very well located, right outside Kaohsiung Station with easy access to the MRT.
The super deluxe room is spacious, but the bathroom could really use a renovation.
Breakfast is just okay, nothing special.
There's a self-service laundry room with washing machines, but you have to pay for the dryer, and only with 10 TWD coins, which is really inconvenient if you don't have exact change.
Finally, the reception service is non-existent. You check yourself out at a kiosk, and no one asks if you had a good stay or even says goodbye when you leave.
It's fine for one night, but not for a long stay.

MmachykThe building itself seems a bit old, so it feels somewhere between a guesthouse and a hotel. It's perfectly adequate if you just need a place to sleep.
(If you're out sightseeing, eating, and drinking until late, and just come back to shower and sleep, you probably won't have any complaints.)
There are coin laundries on both sides, and even a minor convenience store, so it's not inconvenient at all. You can also walk to areas with many restaurants in just a few minutes, so you won't have trouble finding food. It's a very quiet area, so you can enjoy a peaceful night.
From my room, I could see the Love River, which offered a nice view.
Self check-in and check-out were hassle-free, and the staff's service was excellent. (They were very helpful with my inquiries during my stay.)
I think it offers good value for money, so I'd recommend it to anyone who doesn't mind if the room or facilities are a bit old and not very stylish.
(My room even had air conditioning, a TV, a refrigerator, and a fan, which I actually appreciated!)
