Good location, good staff , large room but the sofa in the is placed right under the TV. Cleanliness rated 85%, because seems slow and we had to wait for approximately 2hrs before getting into the room. Every other things were fine.

I had a truly wonderful experience during my stay at Scandic Holmekollen. The hotel boasts a relaxing ambiance and offers breathtaking views of the surrounding area. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, always ready to assist with a warm smile. The combination of the serene atmosphere and the helpfulness of the staff made my stay truly enjoyable. We had a wonderful stay at Scandic Byporten from July 4 to July 7, 2025. The location is perfect — right next to the central station, which made getting around Oslo incredibly easy. The room was clean, quiet, and comfortable, with everything I needed for a pleasant stay. Breakfast was excellent with a great variety of fresh and tasty options. The staff was friendly, professional, and always ready to help with a smile. Would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone visiting Oslo!

The hotel is located in the centre of the city centre, between two bus stops. The room is not large but of the right size, the large and adapted bathroom, the big telephone to which you can connect your devices. Common areas well decorated and careful. The breakfast is perfect, very varied and complete. I would undoubtedly repeat.

Truly one of the best hotel stays I have ever experienced. The hotel staff went above and beyond to ensure we were well accommodated and comfortable throughout. When we arrived at the hotel it was 11AM, so I mentioned to the front desk staff that I know it was far too early for us to receive our room (check in is typically at 3PM) and that we would like to simply drop off our bags. Without any special requests, the front desk staff immediately prepared our room keys of us to check in right away, which was hugely appreciated since we had caught a very early morning flight in. We loved the room. It was very comfortable for the 3 of us, although a bit tight but that's what we expected for hotel rooms in Europe. The bathroom was well fitted and had all the basic toiletries required (shampoo, body wash, hand soap), however we hoped to have body lotion as well, so we asked housekeeping whether any was available and they immediately brought 3 LARGE bottles for each of us to use. I have never seen such massive toiletries and in such generous quantities supplied at any hotel before, which again made us feel very well taken care of. Finally on our check out day our flight was not until 6PM and since checkout is typically at 11AM I requested for just a 1 hr extension. Although they were very busy for it being the beginning of summer holidays, without any hesitation the front desk staff extended our checkout time to 3PM. I was once again very pleasantly surprised and appreciative. My last note is to touch on the complimentary tea and coffee always available in the lobby, as well as the fabulous buffet breakfast they served. Cannot recommend this hotel enough!

Very comfortable and helpful staff. Sound isolation could be better because you hear TV from the next room.

The location is fantastic. The hotel provides for basic facilities. Breakfast can be pre-booked. But it lacks some basic amenties: 1. It lacks a telephone in each room. How are we to reach out to the reception in case of any support ? 2. Majority of travellers from Asia will not carry things like electric plugs (Norway has a typical plug ). So the only way is to now purchase it from a shop. Even that is fine, if you reach the hotel at an odd hour then we will have to wait for the shop to open to purchase the connector/plug. 3. TV channels lack basic english channels. Nowadays satellite channels are cheap atleast connect the TVs to the internet for streaming youtube. 4. Rooms have hangers but lack cupboards. 5. No dental kits or shaving kits etc.

The location is excellent, and it is very convenient to eat, drink and have fun. For details on food and attractions, please check the map. It's great to stay for a few days.

We got the family room, spacious clean really lovely, everything seemed intact and in place with no old equipment to note. Breakfast was more than sufficient, lots of cold cuts fresh bread, salads, cheese, freshly cooked fried/scrambled/boiled eggs bacon and sausages. Juices and coffees all available. Reception spoke english well. Very very central location, convenient to walk or take public transport, including to the airport. Highly recommend for the pricing

The hotel staff is very friendly, the breakfast is very good, and the avocado is provided to you as much as you want. Another feature is that it is convenient for sightseeing, but parking is not free, you need to go to another parking lot, and the payment is a bit complicated and takes some effort.
