Good location 20 steps from Shinkansen station. Room upgraded on site is optional at reasonable charge. Staff are friendly and polite.

The ventilation fan and air conditioning were weak, making the air in the room gloomy. I had trouble getting rid of the humidity after taking a bath.

It was a hotel that was worth the price and had a great sense of history.

The hotel I stayed at on a business trip. Good location. Convenient for travel.

As soon as I opened the door to my room, I could smell mold. Not only in the bathroom, but also on the shower head. I could also see mold on the window sash hidden by the curtain. I won't be staying here again.

The building itself is old, but the interior has been renovated and the beds replaced, so it is a good value for money stay. Amenities are also provided, so you don't need to bring luggage. It is also convenient for travel as it is in front of Shin-Shirakawa Station on the Shinkansen line. There are only small izakayas nearby, so it may be better to check in after dinner. Alternatively, you may finish early, but go to a restaurant next to the station building. The breakfast venue is also small, so you should either change the time or arrive at the venue with plenty of time. There are few electrical outlets around the desks, so you will have to bring a power strip or unplug other outlets, so be careful.
