Wingate by Wyndham Bronx/Haven Park

I had a great stay at the hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful. The queen room on the 9th floor was perfect for just me - it was small but well designed and had everything I needed. It was also very clean. The bed was softer than mine at home, but it was so comfy. There were also a variety of pillows so I was able to get just the right one to sleep on and a blackout screen on the window to keep out light, so I slept like a baby both nights. On my first night, I took advantage of the check-in coupon and ate at the restaurant. The bartender was super, happy hour had great pricing, and the dinner was exceptional (whole Snapper). The location is okay because it is only a block to a subway station, but there doesn't seem to be much of interest close by (hip hop museum is closed as they are on tour) and it is a bit far to Manhattan for reasonable prices on Uber. All-in-all though, it was a good experience and I had a fabulous quick trip to NYC.

Times Square
My husband got sick from the morning breakfast after being told the sausage there turkey sausage by staff then roughly 10 minutes later after consume the food was told that it's pork, which my husband can not have and is allergic to causing him to puke and break out. After complaing to the staff front desk and Jennifer nothing was done about it. Also lack of clear communication from staff regarding later check out time. Only to find out on our back transactions that we were charged $50+ which we didn't know about by staff and didn't authorize. The whole experience makes me not want to come back or refer anyone to them.
Wingate by Wyndham Long Island City

LaGuardia Airport Area
The location is awesome, as Long Island City is just one subway stop away from Manhattan. The neighbourhood itself is interesting, because one can sense the real America just in this one tiny area: jobless African Americans mixed with hard-working Spanish immigrants and invisible middle class professionals hiding in newly constructed office towers and condominiums. The hotel, however, needs better design to make the clients feel more at ease. One example, the breakfast area has no window and looks worse than a struggling diner. Perhaps it’s designed in such a way so that secure middle class and upper middle class folks won’t choose this brand…
