Mercure Properties in Munich

Overall experience is average. However, on one of the days (29th April), the housekeeping didn't clean our room at all, and the receptionist guy that night kept saying I don't know.. I don't know, without saying sorry. We even have to get the clean towels by ourselves.

The front desk staff kindly upgraded us to a loft, which was a pleasant surprise. However, to our horror, we discovered that our door could not be locked from the outside when we left the room. This happened on two consecutive days, and we later realised that the door lock battery had been drained. As two women travelling together, this made us feel unsafe, and we became even more vigilant after these incidents. While staff were promptly sent up to resolve the issue each time, it is worth noting that no service recovery was offered. We were also informed that another room had experienced a similar issue just the day before, which raises concerns about maintenance and checks. Otherwise, the location is convenient. That said, we would recommend returning to the hotel by sunset, as the surrounding area can feel somewhat unsafe, particularly for female travellers.

The hotel is well located for the markets. The hotel breakfast is lovely and excelelnt value. The rooms however are not to the standard expected for the price. We had dried tissues on the bed linen and hairs in the bedding. We didn’t complain as we didn’t want to wait even longer for check in. Despite lots of guests leaving, we requested an early check in and was kept waiting after an extremely long flight for hours. For an Accor hotel and as a memeber, one of the worst experiences.

The hotel is located on the main street of Potsdamer Strasse. It is easy to find according to the navigation. The hotel has a parking garage, but the aisle is too narrow and the slope is very large, so you need to be very careful when driving. The aisle of the hotel is too narrow, the room area is small, and the hygiene is OK. The speed of reception and check-in is also OK.

After a month, I'm back again. It's still quite convenient for getting around, and the surrounding area is peaceful. The weather has been great recently, so the view from the window is quite pleasant. Breakfast is good with a decent variety.

Decent Mercure hotel. Very nice service, I can't rate the breakfast as I didn't use it (but it looked very good). The hotel has a good tram connection to the main station and Stachus. Both can be reached in about 10 minutes. A good hotel for a weekend trip.
